Rated 3 out of 5 by from Beware left take off only on 3 way diverter. 3 way diverter only uses left side. I only wanted the 3way but rough in calls for right port to be used. Had to convert to 6 way cartridge. Too bad the couldn’t make the 3 way selectable right or left. Would be a better design. If the ceramic seal was reversible in cartridge and not keyed it would work. Probably ought to specify right or left takeoff and manufacture a different 3 way cartridge for either right or left take off. Fortunately I discovered this before tiling it in.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great, with one minor flaw if you're using PEX Great rough-in, easy to install, works perfectly. My only complaint is the location of the mounting feet. They are both on the top side, which allows the rough-in to rock upward, away from the stringer. I would have preferred one of the mounting feet on the bottom as well, similar to Delta's shower rough-ins. This was an issue for me because I used PEX between the shower rough-in and diverter rough-in. When it gets hot, it expands, causing the diverter to rock upward. I will solve this by either strapping the bottom of the rough-in to the stringer, or by using a loop of PEX instead of a straight piece. But I wouldn't need to do either if there was a mount on the bottom side. The PEX would simply be forced to bend. No big deal, but heads up for those using PEX.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Delta makes is easy with universal valves Valve body for 3 or 6 function diverter. Easy to install. Includes plug for unused port. One thing to note during installation, the screw tabs are only on the top side of the valve body. If you tighten the screws much, the valve will tilt upward. This will cause the handle and trim to be tilted as well, so leave the screw heads accesible in case they need to be adjusted

I am purchasing your R11000 Diverter Valve and need to know where I would find matching trim kits for this? Need part#s or a location on your web site to find possible solutions.

Asked by: Bruce
Hi, Bruce! Thank you for your question. You can find the Diverter trim kits here: https://www.deltafaucet.com/bathroom/showering/shower-components Once you get to the link, click 'Type' and click 'Water Diverters'. This will filter out all Diverter trim kits that work with the R11000 Diverter valve assembly. Best Regards, Rosanna

Asked by: Bill B
Hi there Bill, Thank you for your question. To install your 2 independent raincan shower heads, a regular shower head, 4 Body sprays on one circuit, and a hand shower you would need two of the Delta MultiChoice Rough-In Valve R10000-UNHF and two of the Delta Delta 3 / 6-Setting Diverter Rough-In Valves R11000. HOW MANY GPM WILL A R10000UN VALVE PRODUCE WITH 50PSI CITY PRESSER?

Asked by: STEVE
Thank you for your question, Rudy. The flow rate will depend on the series of trim that you use. Here are the approximate flow rates from the shower port at 50 PSI: 14 series - 5.1 GPM 17 series - 5.4 GPM 17T series - 6.7 GPM Best regards, Jon

3 separate functions for a 3 setting diverter?

can a 3 way diverter be used for 3 separate units? For say a wall mount head, hand held wand and a rain head out of the cieling? Only functioning individually I presume? Would a six way allow for more than one to function at a time then? Thank you
Asked by: sarah
HI Sarah, Thank you for your question! The 3 setting cartridge only controls two components. Meaning both of the units would run by themselves and then both together. If you have a total of 3 components hooked up you would need the 6 setting cartridge. The 6 settings would run each item individually and then two shared at a time. Best regards, Brandis

3/6 rough diverter with 2 shower heads and tub spout

I was told to purchase the 3/6 rough diverter plus universal rough valve to use in my tub/shower with a fixed shower head, a hand held and the tub spout. When I went to purchase the trim kits I was told by the plumbing house that I have installed the wrong diverter - that it will not do what I want and may be troublesome. Can you advise? I wanted to be able to use any two of these together or alone: shower A, shower B, Tub, Shower A & Shower B, Shower A & Tub, Shower B & Tub. Will this be possible with the set-up I now have? Will this cause any problems? I have not yet purchased the tub spout. Can I use a standard spout with diverter just ignore the diverter or do I need the spout without the diverter? Would I be better off replacing the diverter value with a 3 setting diverter? Thanks
Asked by: LB
I want to be able to use the tub AND hand-held at the same time, not to shut off the tub entirely. Sometimes i would want to use the tub only but not always. Sometimes I want to use both showers at the same time, but not always. I am trying to work it out so I can use any 2 water sources at the same time. How do I do this? Thanks.

With T11853 Diverter trim kit and a 1.8gpm shower head and 1.8 hand shower, if the Diverter is on the shared setting is the combined gpm still 1.8 per California calgreen restriction? If not, is the T11759 2-Setting Diverter the only solution for me?

Asked by: Steve K
Hi, Steve K! Thank you for your question. The flow rate will be primarily determined by the main valve and trim that you use (R10000 + 13/14, 17, or 17T trim). The approximate maximum flow rate from the diverter valve at 60 PSI is: With R10000-UNBX: 14 series - 5.8 GPM 17 series - 5.9 GPM 17T series - 7.3 GPM With R10000-UNBXHF (High-Flow): 14 series - 6.3 GPM 17 series - 6.6 GPM 17T series - 8.6 GPM At 80 PSI the flow rate is increased by approximately 1 GPM. These are the maximum total flow rates from the diverter valve in a shared position. The maximum flow from an individual diverter port is limited to 5 to 6 gallons per minute, depending on pressure and the trim series chosen. Best Regards, Rosanna

can the R11000 with 6 function trim be used with a tub spout, a showerhead and a hand held ?

The tub filler is piped through a vacuum breaker then to an integral spout on the waste and overflow. Piping to the filler is from the right side outlet of the diverter.( three o'clock position ) Pex is used from the diverter to the vacuum breaker, then to the integral tub filler. Tub filler is below flood level rim therefore the vacuum breaker. thanks !
Asked by: pete
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # R11000 can be used in the combination that you have decribed. However due to the use of PEX and the vacuum breaker, you may experience lower flow through the tub spout. We also recommend that you do not use a tub spout with a diverter on it.

Is R11000 legal in California?

Building code in Southern California now allows only one showerhead to be on at a time. Can R11000 be used? What other diverter valves do you offer that are ok in California? I plan to have only 2 showerheads. Thank you very much, Prohor

Hi Prohor, Thank you for your question! You can use the R11000 rough-in valve with a non-shared cartridge to eliminate the shared setting. Asked by: lenny b
Hi, Len B! Thank you for your question. If you have a 3-setting diverter assembly, we recommend to use only the left and top port of the R11000 and plug the right port. If you've plugged the left port instead, we do recommend to either replumb this or you may purchase a 6-setting diverter cartridge, RP51919. You will have 3 blank settings but the 3 settings needed will work. Here is a link to the part: https://www.deltafaucet.com/parts-product-detail?modelNumber=RP51919 Best Regards, Rosanna

I purchased the Delta T17453 Tub/Shower trim kit and would like to add a handshower. Do I need T11953+R11000 to get the handshower function

I understand that model T11953 is the appropriate one to allow the flow of water to be diverted from the shower head and spout to the handheld shower. Let me know if this is correct.
Asked by: Remodelgirl
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # R11000 diverter rough and T11853 diverter trim is needed if you are going to add a handshower only to your Delta Faucet model # T17453. If you are going to add another device, like body sprays or a raincan handshower, then you would use the T11953 diverter trim. You will also need a wall supply elbow like the 50570 for your handshower.

Pex between universal valve and 3/6 diverter ok?

My system is PEX. Hand shower & rainhead installation. I'm roughing in the universal valve and 3/6 diverter. Instructions say to sweat copper from universal valve top outlet to bottom inlet on diverter. Is there any reason I cannot use PEX for this connection? I understand the reasons for using copper between valve and a tub spout in a tub shower combination, but this is shower only. Side question, the supplied brass plug on the diverter is meant to be sweated in, correct? Thanks!
Asked by: Becca
Hi Becca, Thank you for your questions! You may use PEX tubing between the R10000 and R11000 valves. The cap is designed to be sweat into the right port of the valve for 3 setting applications. Thanks, Jon

How can I install 2 shower heads?

I have installed a rain shower head on the ceiling but now want to install a regular shower head as well while being able to control them both separately? Please give a detailed explanation. Thank you for your help!
Asked by: nancypantsyxo
Thank you for your question. To be able to use another showerhead either with your raincan showerhead or by itself, you will need the R11000 diverter rough with the appropriate 3-setting 2-port diverter trim to match your trim on your existing valve. This way either the showerhead or raincan showerhead can be used indepently or together at the same time.

Shower head combo

Hi, I've replace our bathtub with a shower only and I would like to install a main shower head/wand combo (584-70-SS, In2ition) and a rain shower head (T17253-SS kit). I want the ability to run them separately or together. I already purchase the T17253-SS the 584-70-SS which came with no trim) and a R10000-UNBX rough in valve, I am not sure what else I need? Please let me know what other products I need to purchase and also a little guidance as to the plumbing from valve to both shower heads. Thanks
Asked by: DIY Brian
Hi DIY Brian, Thank you for your question. You will want to order the R11000 diverter rough and the T11853-SS diverter trim along with a RP6023SS shower arm and RP51034SS flange for the 58470-SS to complete your faucet. You will plumb the diverter rough from the shower port on the R10000 after capping off the tub spout port. You will then cap off the 3 o-clock port on the R11000 diverter rough and plumb the showerheads out of the remaining 9 and 12 o-clock ports. The 3 setting diverter will allow you to operate each showerhead individually or both at the same time. Thanks, Dave

Asked by: René
Thank you for your question, René! The R11000 diverter mixing valve will allow you to switch between either three or six settings depending on the cartridge used, however we do not recommend directing water to a tub spout from this valve as that should be connected to the R10000-UNBX multichoice valve directly for best results. My water supply lines comes in from the top. For space reasons, can I turn the 3/6 setting rough diverter upside down to have the "in" line attached on top? What other changes need to be made to accommodate this change for T11900 6 setting trim?

Asked by: JP0123
Hello JP0123, Thank you for your question. The Delta R11000 is a diverter valve. The bottom port will need to be plumbed to the Delta MultiChoice Universal R10000 rough valve body. The Delta R10000 rough valve will be the valve body that the hot and cold lines would be plumbed to. This leaves 3 ports on the R11000 for up to three shower components such as shower heads, hand showers, rain can shower heads, and body sprays. Best regards, Tanya

Asked by: Fodor67
Hello Fodor67, Thanks for your question! To run three shower heads, we recommend using an R10000 Rough-In Valve with a Shower Trim Kit (13/14, 17, or 17T series) and an R11000 Diverter Rough-In Valve with a matching Diverter Trim Kit. can a shower diverter be put into a 2 1/2 inch wall?

Asked by: Joe
Hi Joe, Thank you for your question. The back of the valve must be 2 3/4" from the finished wall. This would mean that the valve and piping would need to fit within the hole of the wall using elbows. A standard diverter trim escutcheon plate is 4 1/2". If you can work around these specifications, it should work. If I have a tub with a hand held shower option and plan to use the trim with diverter, do I need a spout with a pull up diverter?

Asked by: vince6501
Thank you for you inquiry, Vince6501! Unfortunately, we do not recommend connecting a tub spout assembly to the Delta 3/6 Setting Diverter Rough-In R11000 valve, due to the flow rate required to fill a standard tub. The tub spout assembly should be connected to the bottom port of the main MultiChoice Universal Rough-In R10000-UNBX valve assembly. Will my R10000-UNBX Work?

I am plumbing a shower with four body sprays. The rough in recommended for my shower head was the R10000-UNBX. From what I understand I can use this rough in (with the 6 oclock capped) then run the 12 o clock port to a R11000 3/6 diverter rough and then to my body sprays and showerhead. Is this correct? Hi Greg, Thank you for your question. Your description is correct you can cap off the tub spout port on the R10000-UNBX and then plumb to the R11000 diverter rough from the 12 o-clock/shower port. Another option is to use the R10000-UNBXHF high flow rough that does not have the 6 o-clock port at all and increases the flow rate to the shower port over the R10000-UNBX. Thanks, Dave
