Very Leaky.
Bottom rubber flange does not seal along threads. Instructions do not call for Teflon tape, pipe dope, or plumbers putty. I had to use all three and install 2 drains three times each. Torque that nut all you want, it will not compress that flange to seal against the threads. Not good for a higher end product.

which is better a metal drain or a plastic drain?
What are the benefits to having an all metal drain? wouldn't the metal rust or corrode?
Hi Kelli, Thank you for your question. You shouldn't have issues with either the metal or plastic pop up drain assemblies. The metal is brass and should not rust. Since the water only passes through the pop up assembly you should not experience the issue that the trap portion of the drain has with regards to corrosion. Both are covered by our lifetime warranty.

Is this a recommended product for sinks without an overflow hole? Is there another model that has the same dimensions and is designed specifically for the sinks without an overflow hole?

Is the RP5651 drain assembly all metal? No plastic parts visible.
I am installing a console sink. All the supply and drain lines will be visible- polished chrome The faucet I purchased is the the Delta 3575LF. The tailpiece that came with it is partial plastic.
Will the RP5651 drain assemble work for this application? As in no visible plastic. Only chrome showing.

can I purchase only the horizontal bar on the drain assembly?

Looking for a pop up drain that is 1 1/4”. That is the size of our drains in our bathrooms. We would need nickel.
Thank you for your question, Jeannette! Model RP5651 has a diameter of 1 1/4" at the overflow hole portion of the assembly with the actual flange lip has a diameter of 2 1/8" (54 mm) Dia. This metal pop-up is offered in the Stainless Steel finish which is similar to Brushed Nickel.

How best to cut the tail piece for this assembly?
I am trying to cut this tailpiece because it is much longer than the old one I am replacing. First I tried a hacksaw, and although I was able to score it, the going was quite slow, so off to Lowe's I went to by a tool to cut pipes. This tool is also not working, and is instead squeezing the tailpiece out of shape on me, so I am going back to the hacksaw for now. Why will nothing seem to work?

in the pop up where does the rubber washer go with the seat

Thank you for your question. The order the parts go into the body below the sink is the rubber washer, beveled seat and then the horizontal rod.
