Delta® toilets with FlushIQ™ technology are equipped with three unique features that differentiate it from the competition and even above and beyond the other innovations found in other Delta toilets.
In addition to the items that came in your Delta toilet box, you will need a supply line to connect the toilet to the water supply shut-off valve. You may also want safety goggles, a flashlight to see behind the toilet, a carpenter’s level, and a blanket or other soft surface to set the toilet on while you unpack the box. It’s also a good idea to have someone on hand to help you install the toilet bowl.
For optimal performance and comfort, having a level toilet is recommended. However, floors, particularly in older buildings, sometimes have high and low spots that cause the toilet to rock or not be level. First, be sure the outlet horn of the bowl is not sitting on the flange. (If it is on the flange, you will probably need a new wax seal.) Second, to ensure the toilet is level, use a carpenter's level throughout the installation process. Third, use permanent shims between the bowl and the floor to level the toilet.
Some homeowners like the bowl sealed to the floor and some do not. But please note that if you seal the bowl to the floor, it will be difficult to know if there is a leak.
Often when a new tile or wood floor is installed, the floor is trimmed around the flange, leaving the flange below the floor. Plumbing codes require that the flange must be above the floor. You will need a flange extender, which is readily available at your local building hardware store.
Ensure the waterline is properly set. The water level can be adjusted by turning the red knob. Turning it counterclockwise will raise the water level. If there is still a poor flush, ensure all obstructions are cleared from the trap way, siphon jet, and rim holes.
The first step is to ensure that the water supply is turned on. After this, check battery installation, orientation and condition. If the batteries seem ok, then check to make sure the cardboard spacer was removed from the flapper and that nothing else is lodged inside the tank. If it still does not work, please call Customer Service.
Depending on the water pressure of your home, it will take about 45 seconds to fill the tank. If it is taking much longer, ensure the water supply valve is fully open. If it is still taking too long, remove the brass nut on the inlet supply line in the tank and clear any debris that may be in there.
FlushIQ technology uses capacitive sensing for a clean, touch-free flush with a simple wave of the hand. A sensor on the tank will activate a flush with an intentional wave of a hand. The sensor is positioned out of the way so a user will not activate a flush that they don’t want.
Built-in sensors alert you to possible tank leaks, potentially saving water and money. A sensor monitors the water level in the tank. If a leak is detected as the toilet is being flushed, the LED indicator will show yellow instead of blue. If that happens, look at the flapper to be sure there is no debris, obstruction or wear that might be causing the leak.
