If the lift rod pulls straight up, why does the spec sheet call for a minimum 2-1/2" clearance to backsplash?
I've seen this 2-1/2" minimum space requirement on other faucets, but that was because the lift rod on those faucets come out at an angle toward the backsplash.
It looks like the lift rod on the Lahara pulls straight up (which several users have confirmed in various Q&A posts.
I'd like to purchase the Lahara, but I'm not sure the maker of the cultured granite vanity top I have on order can accommodate the 2-1/2" requirement.
Thank you for your question. The backsplash clearance is to make sure you have enough room for both the installation above the sink and under the sink for this faucet.

Water is dripping slowing when turned off. Is there a washer in the Lahara two handle widespread bathroom faucet that need to be replaced?
If a replacement washer is needed, please specify the part #.
Hi Ed, Thank you for your question. To stop a drip in the model 3538-MPU-DST faucet you will want to change out the RP60400 valve assembly. Here is a link to the owners manual that includes the parts breakdown.

It looks like the spacing of the handles can be varied. I will be installing a pair of these faucets on a double vanity in my new home.
In case the plumber or builder asks me how far apart I want them: Is there a recommended distance apart?
I installed ours at 8" center to center of the handles. Could have gone closer, could have gone further.

I am wanting to put the stainless finish in a coastal townhome. Will this rust or would another finish be better for the climate?
Thank you for your question. Yes, the Delta Lahara Lavatory 3538-MPU-DST can be installed in any indoor or outdoor setting. Please see the below link for the cleaning care for all our finishes.

Sahara 3538. The black plastic insert (filter?) in the spout has a crack and water sprays out sideways. Can this be removed and replaced?
Thank you for your question, and I am sorry to hear that your Delta faucet aerator is broken. The aerator is a replaceable part. The part number is RP54977. Here is the link to this part:

"Metal" pop up
I just bought this faucet. My plumber told me before I bought it, "just make sure it has a metal pop-up." Well, yes, there is metal for the part one sees in the sink, but the inside is all plastic. I bought this from a very well known big box store and it came in original Delta packaging. The model numbers matched, however, the inside of the pop-up is all plastic and cheap. My plumber went ahead and installed it, however, I am disappointed in the quality of the pop-up. Please let me know if the inside of the metal pop-up is supposed to be plastic or are different items with the same model numbers being sold at plumber's supply houses, this site, and at big box stores.
Thank you for your question. The drain assembly is metal. The stopper and the ball on the horizontal rode is non-metallic. Non-metallic parts are beneficial because they do not rust or corrode. Please know that all of our products are built to last and come with a Lifetime Limited Warranty. When comparing the same model number, products will be exactly the same regardless of where they are purchased.
