Delta® Touch2O® with Touchless Technology helps keep your bathroom clean by giving you three ways to operate your faucet: manually with the handle, with a simple touch anywhere on the spout or handle, or by placing your hands near the faucet. The high-tech capacitance sensing capabilities of Touchless faucets allow the flow of water to be activated by breaking the capacitance field anywhere around the device, unlike traditional hands-free infrared sensors which require your hands be in a particular place and are sensitive to lighting conditions and clothing and skin color. WaterSense® labeled faucets use at least 20% less water than the industry standard — helping you save water without compromising performance. Not sure why it has both on there only wanted the touch. Have changed the batteries only one time. I am getting ready to remodel my other bathroom and I will be buying one of these to be installed.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Looks nice, LED Water temp indicator is nice, drip Too many hoses and wires down the single center hole, needs some way to organize them so that they don't rub against the drain lever linkage, one of the lines that connects to the solenoid is too short making the issue with the drain lever linkage even worse. The Solenoid leaked after one day and would either drip or leave a constant stream of water when the water was supposed to be stopped, a replacement was shipped to me and after a few days it is working better but I have seen it drip sometimes when it should be off, most of the time the water does shut off completely. I guess we shall see over time how long it lasts. Maybe the solenoid requires cleaner water than my town provides, there is a small screen in the solenoid input, maybe an in-line filter like the kind used for ice makers would help but I see no way to hook up something like that to the faucet. I do like the look of the faucet and I like the LED that is blue with cold water and turns purple when the water gets warm.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great looking faucet, but only worked for a couple of weeks Great looking faucet, but the touch feature stopped working after only a couple of weeks. Wish we had of spent a little more money for a touch faucet that really worked or not purchased a touch faucet at all. When the touch feature was working the faucet would also turn itself on and off when no-one was in the washroom.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Three replacement cartridges in 8 months I had this faucet installed eight months ago and it leaked underneath the handle almost immediately. Delta sent a new cartridge and that seemed to do the trick for a while. But recently I have noticed leakage around the handle again and requested another cartridge. There seems to be a problem with quality control. Otherwise I like the faucet - the touch works great and it looks beautiful. But the leaking is a big problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Delta Hands Free Dryden Faucet I purchased and installed this hands free faucet in my primary bath. Looks great and fairly straight forward install. A few little issues during install but reading the directions closely will help. The faucet can be touched on and off or you can place your hands under it and the electronic eye will turn on for about 20 seconds to allow easy washing of hands with no touch. Very sanitary from my perspective and the faucet works well. You can adjust the temperature with the handle and you also turn the water on/off with the handle. I had one occurrence where the faucet turned on by itself, don;t know the issue, happened once. When we leave for long time we shut the unit with the handle. In that case no water can be turned on in any case. Overall I like the look, I like the functionality and I think Delta did a great job with the overall design. Price was reasonable. Highly recommended.

How to get sensing field to work?

I noticed the sensing field is not working but the touch does. I replaced the batteries and still the sensing field doesnt work when i place my hands near. How do i turn this function back on

Hi Andrew, Thank you for your question! To turn the proximity feature on or off, tap the faucet six times within 4 seconds. The lights will flash briefly, then tap it again 6 times again. Is it possible to lengthen to time before the Dryden touch faucet automatically turns off?

I have a Delta touch faucet in the kitchen, and the water runs for 4 minutes before the faucet turns off. By comparison, my Delta touch faucet in the bathroom only runs for one minute. It takes about 3 minutes for my hot water to get to the bathroom. Therefore, I have to keep running back into the bathroom every minute to touch the faucet until the water gets hot. Can this one-minute shut-off be adjusted to a longer time? Thank you!

Hi Leesa, Thank you for your question. There is not a way to adjust the 1 minute run time on the model 551T-PN-DST faucet. This time frame is used as it would prevent the sink from overflowing if the drain stop is closed. Thanks, Dave

Should the unit turn on if I move the wires under the sink?

Will there be any issues with the Touch2O.xt if this is installed in a copper sink?

Hello Bathroominstall, Thank you for your question. The Delta Dryden Lavatory Touch2O 551T-SS-DST faucet can be installed on any type of sink. You would want to make sure that all insulator are used with the installation of the faucet and that the solenoid, battery box and wires are isolated from anything that can conduct electricity below the counter. is it possible to turn off the hands free activation and just have the faucet as a touch on/off?

Hi Christina, Thank you for your question. It is possible to turn off the proximity function on your model 551T-SS-DST faucet. If you would like to reactivate/de-activate the hands-free mode, please follow these instructions: 1) Tap the spout 6 times within 4 seconds. 2) the LED indicator light will flash red/blue. 3) Tap the spout an additional 6 times within 4 seconds of the flashing red/blue LED indicator light. 4) The LED indicator light will flash red/blue a second time to indicate the hands-free mode has been de-activated. 5) The tapping sequence can be done with the handle in the ON or OFF position. Why is my hands free featue not working properly?

The hands free feature is not working, even after I tap it 6 times within 4 seconds twice. I don't understand why its not functioning.

Hi, Sylvia. Here are the instructions to turn on the proximity feature. Put the handle in the off position Wait 5 seconds Tap the spout 6 times within 4 seconds. Notice the light flashes red & blue As soon as the light stops flashing, tap the spout 6 times within 4 seconds. Prox mode is now on. If this does not work, please contact us at (800)345-3358.
