You would need to use the original cartridge that is currently in your valve instead of the cartridge that comes with the BT13010-SS. Hi Keith! Thank you for your question! I will be happy to help. You an install any newer trim over it actually. However, if you install a 1400 series trim kit onto it you must use an older RP19804 cartridge and not the one that would come with the new trim kit. If your current valve uses an RP19804 cartridge, The RP46074 cartridge included with this trim kit will not fit the same valve. This trim kit can be used with the older valve and the RP19804 cartridge. The parts will fit the older cartridge, but the new RP46074 cartridge will not fit the older valve. Hi Mike63, Thank you for your question about the Delta Faucet model BT13010. The RP46074 cartridge included with 13 and 14 series faucet trims will not fit a valve installed before 2006. If your faucet is a 1300 or 1400 series that includes cartridge RP19804, a new 13 or 14 series trim will fit the old cartridge and valve, but the new cartridge will not fit. Mineral deposit buildup may stick the handle to the cartridge. We recommend soaking the area with 50/50 white vinegar and water, then rinsing. Once the bonnet nut is removed, remove the cartridge by wiggling as you pull, taking care to protect the stem. If the cartridge has a metal stem, reattach the handle to provide a better grip. A solution of 50/50 white vinegar and water can be used to help dissolve mineral deposits. Put a rag or towel in the solution to soak it up. Wrap the rag or towel around the part.
