Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best price Efaucets had best price on the valves and, as it turned out, the fastest shipping (by 3 days). These valves are substantial and awkward to connect together. Lines are 1/2 inch. This was a replacement for an older Delta faucet. Was surprised when the holes in the garden tub deck we're too small.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Come on, Delta!!!! Delta has made great strides over the past decade with some very solid innovations to their lineup. This is not one of them. 1) Orientation of the valve stems is critical. Unlike most brands that use splines on their stems that allow for handle orientation in trim-out, these are not adjustable at all. If your rough-in is 5 degrees off, your handles are going to be off too. 2) The corrugated thinwall copper mixer drops are very difficult to 90 over to the mixer T. Even at 10" o.c. a great amount of stress must be placed on the assemblies. 3). The directions say that all three deck holes should be drill at 2". This is not true for the filler spout hole. Glad we checked.

Dear BO, Thank you for your inquiry! We manufacture two Delta Roman Tub Rough-In R2707-MF and R2707-PX valves for PEX connection installation. The R2707-MF uses PEX cold expansion type connections and the R2707-PX uses PEX crimp ring type connections. https://media.deltafaucet.com/SpecSheet/DSP-B-R2707-MF%20Rev%20A.pdf Best regards, Tanya

IS THERE AN EXTENSION KIT FOR THIS VALVE?

Asked by: MO
Hi MO, Thank you for your question. We do not have an extension kit for this valve. The maximum deck thickness is 2 1/2". In a Standard Installation, this includes the complete mounting surface. In a Thick-Tile Installation, this does not include the plywood underlayment. Please click the link below to view the Installation Instructions for more information. https://media.deltafaucet.com/MandI/80163%20Rev%20C.pdf Best regards, Jon

Can R2707 be installed over R2700 without modifying the deck?

I'm replacing R2700 with R2707, but the holes in the deck were cut for the old kit (1-3/4" and 1-1/4"). Will R2707 fit?
Asked by: Peter
Hi Peter, Thank you for your question. Please refer to the Technical Specifications (link below). The holes for a standard installation should be 1 1/2" in diameter. http://www.deltafaucet.com/customersupport/documentation/r2707.html?document=ts&fromDetailArea=bath&documentIndex=0#flashWrapper Best regards, Jon

When can I solder the R2707 connections?

I need to install the R2707 from the side of the deck which makes soldering the connections after everything is installed next to impossible. Is it possible to solder all the connections (including 1/2" male adapters for braided supply lines) outside of the deck and then install the entire assembly following the finished deck instructions? Of course connecting the braided supply lines would be the last step.
Asked by: bvendt
Hi bvendt, Thank you for your question. The connections could be soldered before installing the valve into the tub, as long as the end valves are the correct distance apart, level, and oriented correctly. You would then remove the top washers, slide the entire assembly up through the deck, reattach the top washer, and tighten the jack screws. Thanks, Jon

Can Delta roman tub faucets and spouts specified for a R2707 rough-in valve be used in an existing R2700 valve application?

I currently have what appears to be an R2700 roman tub rough-in valve and want to install a new Delta faucet. It seems all of the faucets I find require a R2707 valve. I have a perfectly good valve and don't want to change it out. If so, can the Porter oil rubbed bronze faucet set be purchased without the R2707 valve? Thanks for your assistance.
Asked by: Mike
Hi Mike, Thank you for your question. Models that work with the R2707 rough-in valve will also work with the R2700. Unfortunately, the Porter 37984-OB is only available as a complete set with the R2707 valve included. Thanks, Jon
