Rated 1 out of 5 by from Leaky valve This is made of cheap plastic, and it started dripping just 3 months after installation. I replaced the cartridge, and it is still leaking. I'm planning to replace this whole valve with Kohler or something better.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not worth the money So far not impressed. No water comes out until the valve is over halfway open. I'll be taking it out AGAIN and going to supplier to see what they say. The snap on temperature handle seems to be getting sloppy already and the screen printing on the cover is unreadable.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The faucet has worked only for 2 years The faucet was installed in 2020. Looked and worked nice, and now it doesn't allow the flow of hot water at all. Unacceptable! I would not recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great functioning shower handle Works very well to adjust pressure and temperature.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rare find Exactly what I was looking for. Good instructions.
Date published: 2022-09-21
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Flawed Design The faucet has a center screw which really holds the entire thing together. This screw has a tolerance window, if you tighten it too much to hold it in place, then the cover doesn't fit. If you make it too loose, the handle doesn't turn. So, even though you can dial it in perfectly, use by any normal standard loosens the screw eventually and the thing breaks. It is really disappointing. LIke, super disappointing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All positive! Delta quality, smooth action, temperature regulated. What’s not to love? And in our perfect color!

Q&A

I currently have Series 1700 Delta shower faucets in my shower. They were installed in 2001. Can I only replace the trim not the actual faucets? If so, Is there a chart available to show matches? Thanks.

Asked by: Joel
Hello, Thank you for your question! You can install any new trim kit and tub spout onto your existing rough-in valves. However, you must use the existing cartridges and not the one included in a new trim kit. Please reach out with further questions! Best Regards, Tim Digital Communications Specialist

Can you repost the video for how to adjust the rotational limit stop? The link above no longer works. I'm trying to adjust so the water can be a hotter tempature.

Asked by: Dennis W
Hello Dennis W, Thank you for your question. The Delta Trinsic Valve Trim T17059-CZ contains a rotational limit stop that may need adjusting to allow more hot water to flow through the valve. Included here are the instructions for adjusting the limit stop. We’ve teamed up with DIYers, Mike and Hannah to create a new collection of simple “How-To” troubleshooting and installation videos. The directions are on page 7 of this below document link. https://media.deltafaucet.com/MandI/76652%20Rev.%20G.pdf Best regards, Tanya

I’m installing a single shower head setup. Want matching look of other bathroom that has a T27T959 valve. Will be using an R10000-UNBXHF valve. Want max flow and pressure - do I go with T17059 or T17T059? What’s the difference between the two?

Asked by: Mtka Mike
Hello Mtka Mike, There is in fact a big difference between the two. The T17059 is a regular monitor 1700 series. The T17T059 is from the same Trinsic collection but with a thermostatic cartridge. TempAssure Thermostatic valves monitor the temperature of the water and adjust the mix automatically to maintain precise temperature control and to keep the water temperature in your shower within a safe ±3° F (±1.6° C). This provides a more consistent temperature than pressure balanced valves can supply. TempAssure valves also feature an adjustable high-temperature limit stop that when properly set helps ensure the handle cannot be turned to a position that is too hot for comfort. And because TempAssure measures the temperature of water, the handle limit stop will not need to be adjusted for seasonal ground water temperature changes. This information can but found under the smart solutions tab. Once your there you can click on Tempassure tab. Below is a link to this same information. https://www.deltafaucet.com/design-innovation/innovations/shower/tempassure-valve--monitor-valve Best regards, Tanya

I don't want to replace my older 1700 series rough in, will this work using the RP32104 cartridge?

I don't want to have to pay a plumber to come out and swap rough ins. I do need to replace the cartridge and believe that the RP32104 is correct as it has the square key instead of the triangle the new ones have. Will this valve work with that cartridge?
Asked by: ryanoutloud
Hi Ryanoutloud, Thank you for your question. If your 1700 series faucet is older than February 2006 and the top of the cartridge is white then the RP32104 is the correct replacement cartridge. If newer than February 2006 and the cartridge has a gray top then RP46463 would be the correct part. Thanks, Dave

I don't see a Trinsic 17T option for a TempAssure cartridge? Does Trinsic trim support that option?

Searching on TempAssure shower valve products, I only find Vero, Ara, and Arzo with contemporary styling. Could I replace the 17 pressure balanced cartridge with the 17T TempAssure in the Trinsic or Compel trims?
Asked by: Mike
Hi Mike, Thank you for your question. You are correct, there is not a Trinsic 17T option available. Unfortunately, you cannot just put the cartridge for the 17T on a 1700 series and use the same handle. It will not fit. Thanks. Jody

Hi Matt, Thank you for contacting Delta Faucet Company! Please accept our sincere apology for the inconvenience you are experiencing. Here is what we can do to resolve your issue for you. Our Delta Faucet Monitor® 17 Series Valve Only Trim In Matte Black MODEL#: T17059-BL would fit the pre-2006 rough end valve in the wall as long as the previous trim kit was also a 1700 series. The trim would fit, however the new cartridge would not. You would keep the original rough and cartridge installed and use only the trim pieces from the new product. Is there a way to adjust this to make the water hotter? I have the lever cranked all the way to red and it only comes out warm. FYI, it's not related to the hot water tank setting.

Asked by: Timsteele88
Hello Timsteele88, Thank you for contacting us. I apologize for the issue you are experiencing with your Delta shower faucet and I am happy to help you. The temperature can be adjusted by rotating the knob on the front of the volume handle. The rotational limit stop can be adjusted to set the maximum temperature. To do this, remove the temperature knob cover by prying it by hand at the tip. This should pop it off of the gray knob, allowing you to remove the Phillips head screw. Pull off the knob to access the RLS and set it to the desired position. Please refer to section 5 of the below installation instructions for more information. https://media.deltafaucet.com/MandI/107529%20Rev%20D.pdf Please contact us back directly with any further questions. Hello joeP, Thank you for your question. The T17059-BL trim kit will replace any trim, including a 13/1400 series, installed into the Delta MultiChoice valve we introduced in 2006. If your 13/1400 trim was installed before 2006, you can use a current T13/T14 trim. The new handle will work on the old cartridge. But the T17059-BL will not work. What rough in valve do i use for this trim shower only.....(ceiling head and hand shower on bar)? R1000-UNBX or UNWS ?......with or w/o HF? What other spare parts are needed? Thank you!

Asked by: Cara
Hi Cara, Thanks so much for contacting Delta Faucet Company! The T17059-BL requires the R10000-UNWS, the HF is normally used for shower only installations. If you are looking to install a shower head and handshower you would also need a diverter and elbow. We have two versions of installation: Elbow: https://www.deltafaucet.com/parts/product/50560-BL.html Options 1: Purchase an R11000 rough end and T11800 trim kit, please see the link below to the rough and trim. This would also require you to add two holes in the wall for plumbing. https://www.deltafaucet.com/bathroom/product/R11000.html https://www.deltafaucet.com/bathroom/product/T11859-BL.html Option 2: If you do not want to add any extra holes in the wall, then we would recommend the 3-way diverter that attaches to the shower arm and allows the hose to attach for flow. Please see the link below. https://www.deltafaucet.com/bathroom/product/U4929-BL-PK.html Please contact us directly if you have any questions or need additional assistance.
