PRODUCT FEATURES
Touch it on. Touch it off. Whether you have two full hands or 10 messy fingers, Delta® Touch2O® Technology helps keep your faucet clean, even when your hands aren’t. A simple touch anywhere on the spout or handle with your wrist or forearm activates the flow of water at the temperature where your handle is set. The Delta TempSense™ LED light changes color to alert you to the water’s temperature and eliminate any possible surprises or discomfort. Delta® MagnaTite® Docking uses a powerful integrated magnet to pull your faucet spray wand precisely into place and hold it there so it stays docked when not in use. Delta® ShieldSpray® Technology cleans with laser-like precision while containing mess and splatter. A concentrated jet powers away stubborn messes while an innovative shield of water contains splatter and clears off the mess, so you can spend less time soaking, scrubbing and shirt swapping. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love everything but the touchless feature! My husband and his both love the faucet but the touchless on/off faucet is too sensitive and we are going to disable it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Faucet dead when batteries die Could not believe my faucet would not work when batteries died!! I have wanted a touch to activate faucet for so long (I hate trying to turn on the faucet when I have raw meat on my hands). I was so excited after installing this, which, by the way, was pretty easy. Then to have it not work after only 2 months because the batteries died!! During my husband's birthday party! I was scrambling g to find more AA's wherever I could find them, and after only a month I cannot use my sink AGAIN. I am going to try the C batteries and fingers crossed it will last more than 2 months. I will repost if it does work, Delta needs to make this known

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Low water flow I like the features and the style but I am dissapointed in the low water flow that showed up just 2 1/2 months after an install by a professional plumber. Your help is welcomed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Touch on/off system does not work properly When we received this faucet, the box was slightly damage on one corner. When I opened the box, there was a million very little metal balls loose in the box. In fact, the hose weight (plastic) was broken and half the balls were in the box. I had to use the metal, solid weight of the existing faucet I was replacing. The installation was really easy. The instructions are very clear and the provided wrench is very useful when you are under sink in a tight location. The pressure is good. The 3-function wand is nice and the magnet to keep it in place works well. The adjustment of the water temperature is not very progressive and it can be hard to find the right temperature between hot and cold. Now, here is the bad part that justifies the only one-star rating. This faucet has a mind of its own! The touch on/off function just does not work properly. The faucet goes on and off by itself without touching anything (i did not buy the touchless version). Only the non-rotating base of the faucet seems to turn on and off the faucet. A touch anywhere else (handle or spout) does not have any effect. The faucet can be on for 20 seconds then stop by itself for 3 seconds then turn on again for ten seconds then off a minute and turn on again (this is an example but it's all random). Also when pulling the wand down more than 3-4 inches, the faucet randomly turns off and then turns back on as soon as the wand moves upward. This is so ridiculous that I have disconnected the electrovalve and use it as a standard faucet. The problem is that I paid a high price for a faucet that does not do what it is supposed to. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Delta hands free faucet just installed unit today and works great. Hand free operation is superior and very convenient. I would recommend this to any homeowner or contractor.
Date published: 2025-02-18
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Correct Installation is important. It looks good and works well, once we got the installation tweaked. It kept stopping the first few days and the plumber had to return to adjust something under the sink.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Touch faucet can be a problem I bought this "touch" faucet, but you cannot just turn it on. You must touch it for it to come to life. So what happens when the battery for the solenoid is dead: it will not turn on, If you are using the adaptor plug and power goes out, I believe it will not turn on. That's what the people at Delta told me.

The faucet drips after touch shutoff even with new batteries - does the solenoid need to be replaced?

Asked by: Truckeejim
Hello Truckeejim, Thank you for contacting Delta Faucet Company. I am sorry to hear that your Leland® Single Handle Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet With Touch2O® And ShieldSpray® Technologies In Chrome MODEL#: 9178T-DST is leaking, which can be very frustrating. I am so glad that you contacted us, so we can get this taken care of for you! The leak when off you are experiencing appears to be caused by debris within the solenoid assembly. We recommend doing a flush on your electronic components. Please follow the below steps to resolve your drip: 1. Put the handle in the off position. 2. Remove the blue clip that is attached to the top of the solenoid assembly below the sink. 3. Pull the solenoid off of the faucet connection. Remove the debris screen in the top connection if able, and clear any debris with tweezers or a q-tip. 4. Set a bucket under the PEX supply line that is exposed. 5. Place the handle in the on position and allow it to run water for 2 full minutes. This will clear the supply line out of any debris. 6. Put the handle back into the off position. 7. Reconnect the solenoid to the faucet and clip it back into place. 8. Now remove the bottom clip from the solenoid where the hose connects and pull the hose off. 9. Turn the water back on for an additional 2 minutes to clear the solenoid assembly of any remaining debris. 10. Reconnect the hose and clip it into place again. Once that is finished, turn the water onto the faucet and run it for 15 seconds. Thank you for being a loyal Delta Faucet customer. We appreciate your business and look forward to continuing to serve you. Please contact us back with any further questions. Best Regards, Nicole

After installing my new faucet the hot water is not very hot.

Asked by: tom g
Hello tom g, Thank you for contacting us. I apologize for the low hot flow you are experiencing with your Delta faucet and I am happy to help you. Reduced flow is typically caused by debris. If only one side is affected, there is debris in the supply line. To flush the supply line, first shut off the hot and cold water supply. Remove the hot supply line from the shut-off valve and place the line into a bucket. Open the handle to the middle position, fully open, then turn the cold supply back on for one minute. The cold water should flow through the faucet and out the hot supply tube. Reconnect the supply line and turn on both supplies. Check flow from the faucet. If this does not help, please let us know. Please contact us back with any further questions. Best Regards, Skyler

I have a 9178T-RB-DST Touch with a power adapter. It has been installed for a couple years and has run fine. Recently it started being slow to shut the flow of water off, going from almost instantly to approximately a second. I've replaced the batteries.

Asked by: Andy
Hi Andy, Thanks so much for contacting Delta Faucet Company! Resetting the solenoid could resolve this issue with your LELAND® Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet MODEL#: 9178T-DST. To reset the solenoid, remove the lid to the battery box and the black LED wire from the side of the solenoid (and unplug the AC adapter from the solenoid, if you have that optional accessory). Let it sit for at least 2 minutes. Reattach the lid to the battery box and plug the LED wire back into the solenoid (you should hear or feel it click when it is fully inserted). If the issue persists, please clean/flush the solenoid. To clean the filter basket/screen, please turn the handle to the off position. You will need a paper towel or two. Disconnect the clip from the top hose going into the solenoid. Look into the top solenoid valve you should see a white/blue debris screen or basket. It should simply unscrew or, depending on the model, you may need to take a pair of needle-nose pliers (or tweezers) and pull the small debris basket/screen out. Clean the debris screen by rinsing it. If the screen does not remove easily, use a swab with white vinegar and water to wipe the screen clean of any debris. Place the basket/screen back into the solenoid and reinsert the top tube into the solenoid, making sure the clip is securing the hose (tube) to the solenoid. Please reach out with further questions! Asked by: Kerentz

My faucet occasionally will not turn on via touch. Is this a battery problem? How do I change the batteries? In your manual, Image 9 does not clearly show where the battery pack is located or how to access it.

Asked by: Anonymous
Hello Zoe, Thank you for your question. We are happy to help! The battery pack is located under the sink. It should be placed flat on the floor, at least two inches from the walls. Asked by: Christine
Hi Christine, Thanks so much for contacting Delta Faucet Company! It is possible that a flush could resolve this issue with the LELAND® Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet MODEL#: 9178T-DST. To flush the supply line, first shut off the hot and cold-water supply. Remove the hot supply line from the shut-off valve and place the line into a bucket. Open the handle to the fully open middle position, and then turn the cold supply back on for one minute. The cold water should flow through the faucet and out the hot supply tube. Reconnect the supply line and repeat with the second line. If this does not help, please let us know. Please reach out with further questions! Best Regards, Kelley Digital Communications Specialist

Asked by: RobbT

Can this faucet be used just as a manual faucet? Right now, I can’t get water if the batteries are dead. My faucet is 4 years old.

Asked by: Prickly1
Hello Prickly1, Thank you for your question about the Delta Faucet model 9678T-SP-DST LELAND® Single Handle Pull-Down Bar / Prep Faucet With Touch2O® Technology. I apologize for any difficulty finding this information. We are happy to help! Yes, this faucet can be used manually. One way is with the faucet running water, disconnect the battery pack by opening it. You now have a manually operated faucet. The solenoid was open allowing water to flow through and is now stuck open because you removed the power it would use to close. Reconnecting the battery would close the solenoid and make it electronic again. Also as a second option, the solenoid assembly may be removed, and the wand hose connected directly to the valve outlet tube. a. Open the battery holder cap. b. Disconnect the sensor hook(s) from the spout and/or valve shank. c. Remove the hose clip and hose from the solenoid. d. Remove the solenoid from the valve outlet tube by removing the clip or swinging the clip open. e. Reconnect the hose with the hose clip to the spout outlet nipple.
