Rated 2 out of 5 by Mark13 from Not my favorite design [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Unless the holes in the granite are perfectly cut, this rough in can be difficult to install. The reason is because the holding force is a pinching force pressing down on the granite top. The metal rings designed to hold against the top are not much larger than the hole itself. Thus, if the hole is a little too big, or if the granite did not cut cleanly, the force pulls the rough in at an angle. This makes the faucet not fit quite correctly, if at all. The sprayer rough in is the most difficult mainly because the part with the screw threads is free, not fixed like the faucets. So, you have to tighten very securely or it spins when you put on the decorative cover. Naturally, since this has to be the tightest of the four pieces they give you a plastic part, instead of metal like the other three. I will not be buying any similar type design in the future.

Bad mistake...One box in particular looked as if it had been sent back, and sure enough was missing a single mounting bracket that I was able to get online from Delta, but which held up my install, inspection, etc....

Does the shower diverter lever need to be held up in order to use the hand shower?

I am hard plumbing to a shower head rather than using the hand shower. It seems while installing that the lever to the diverter needs to be held in position. Is that accurate?

Dear Zeb, Thank you for your inquiry! The diverter assembly of the Delta Roman Tub valve R4707 Connects to the finial piece on the Spout trim and it is engaged or pulled up when you want to divert the water from coming out of the tub to the hand shower, that is connected to the same valve only. Can I install R4707 using 1/2" braided supply lines

Can I install R4707 using 1/2" braided supply lines? This would require soldering a male adapters to the supply lines of R4707

I purchased a Delta R4707 deck mount roman tub with hand held shower diverter rough in kit. I was told that the Delta Model T2794/T4794 trim kit would work with the rough in kit but the spout clearly does not fit the diverter. What trim kits would work?

Can I change the valve to be a 1/4 turn.

R4707 I just purchased is a 180 degree turn handle valve. Can this be changed to a 90 degree ( 1/4 turn ) Can I put in a RP25513 which is in my 2538 Lahara lav faucets? Will this work?

Thank you for your question. We do have a peice that you can use in your existing cartridge that will make it only a 1/4 stop. Delta Faucet model # RP24097 is a 1/4 turn stop. Or you can use the RP25513 to replace the whole cartridge on your R4707. Please keep in mind that your flow rate will be reduced because of the 1/4 turn stop.

what is gpm on this valve

Hi Bigg, Thank you for your question. This valve has not been rated for a specific flow rate. It does not have flow restrictor devices, so the flow rate will be determined by the pressure in your home. However, you should get between 15 - 20 gallons per minute at 40 - 80 PSI. Best regards, Jon

Divert to Wall Shower instead of included Hand Sprayer

We would like to use the "Vero Roman Tub with Hand Shower" (T4753) with a different hand shower mounted to another wall - instead of the hand shower that comes with this faucet. So, we wouldn't use the included hand sprayer. The diverter would divert the water to another hand shower located on another wall in the shower/tub. Could the R4707 Rough Valve divert the water not to the included 24" braided leader hose for the included hand shower, but instead to another pipe that travels through the wall to another location for a different hand shower? If so, would the water pressure to that different hand shower be sufficient?

Hi David, Thank you for your question. You can plumb directly out of the diverter assembly and not use the leader hose. The threads on the bottom of the diverter assembly are 1/4" NPT. The handshower will regulate the water flow so water presure should not be an issue. Thanks, Dave
