Remove the handles by turning the handle base counterclockwise. There are typically supply valves under a sink for turning off the water to a faucet. Hi Mike, Thank you for contacting Delta Faucet Company! Please accept our sincere apology for the inconvenience you are experiencing with your Two Handle Widespread Bathroom Faucet In Chrome MODEL#: 35548LF-MPU. Here is what we can do to resolve your issue for you. I have included instructions below: 1. To change these parts, please first turn off the water supply to the faucet. 2. Remove the handles by hand, turning the handle base counterclockwise. 3. Once both handles have been removed, with the wrench, unscrew the bonnet nuts counterclockwise to remove them. 4. You should then see the "stems" sticking up, and then the two-quarter pieces that fit around the stem unit. The first quarter does not move, but the second quarter piece is removable. 5. Next would be to remove the stems, below the stem would also be the seats and springs that would need to be removed as well. It is recommended to flush the unit before installing new parts. I will provide directions below. 1. Please place a towel around the backside of the faucet. 2. Place the bucket over the top of the towel, have someone hold the bucket. 3. Turn on water supplies and flush the water for about 30 seconds to a minute. 4. Shut off water supplies and proceed to put the new parts in. Typically, the quarter-turn stops on the left (hot) handle will be on the front side (close to you) and the right (cold) handle will be on the backside (away from you). If you reinstall the handles and find that they aren't turning in the right direction, rotate the stem 180º and check for proper handle rotation. Thank you for being a loyal Delta Faucet customer.
