Q&A

Retracting hose

We love this new faucet, but seem to have trouble retracting the pull down wand after we pull it out. It pulls out ok and the magnet helps it go back in place, but we find that we have to guide the hose back in. Do we need more weight? Is there anything we can do to improve it? Thanks!
Asked by: Diana
Dear Diana, Thank you for your question. The hose assembly of the Trinsic Kitchen Pull down faucet 9159-DST model, is not designed to self retract back in the faucet. You would need to push it back up into the faucet. Delta does not make self retracting Pullout/down faucets. Best regards, Tanya

Can the on off handle be on the left as well as the right?

Asked by: Time
Hello Time, Thank you for your question. We recommend installing the faucet with the handle on the right. The handle operates by tilting away from the faucet to turn on and rotating forward to increase the temperature. Unfortunately, there is no way to reverse the movement, so if the handle is installed on the left, it will rotate backwards. Best regards, Jon

How can you either clean or replace one of the supply tubes? It seems to be blocked with sediment.

Asked by: Mike60
Thank you for your question, Mike60! The supply lines can not be replaced so if removing the wand doesn't improve the flow, than you will need to flush the lines of the faucet as debris is mostly likely trapped inside. Instructions on flushing can be found on Page 7, Step 3 of the Maintenance and Installation manual below. Please contact us directly if you have questions or need further assistance. https://media.deltafaucet.com/MandI/92728%20Rev%20E.pdf Best regards, Edward

Can this (9159-DST) be installed with on/off handle in front?

Your specifications indicate that 2 1/2 inch clearance is necessary between the spout center and the backsplash. My clearance is only 1 1/2 inch so I am wondering if this particular faucet can be installed so that the handle is positioned in front. Thank you for your help.

It should. The faucet swivels 360 degrees

I have checked my GPM and only get 1GPM in either normal or spray mode. Is there a way to clean the areator? This was installed when the house was built 3 years ago. This a nice unit but at 1GPM it takes almost 2 min for hot water to reach the faucet.

Is up (12 o'clock) supposed to be hot or cold?

We have the trinsic in our kitchen and love it! My mother in law was over recently and said that it was installed incorrectly and that hot is supposed to be up (as in handle at 12 o'clock) and cold is supposed to be down (as in pulled toward you). Is this correct?

Once the 54" hose that it comes with is installed, how much of that hose can be extended from the faucet? If I substitute it with the 62" hose, are you saying that it will only extend 18-22" from the faucet? I am looking for a faucet that has approx. 24"

Asked by: CMMH
Hi CMMH! Thank you for your inquiry and I apologize for any confusion. With a 62" hose installed, the total length of the pullout hose from the spout will be approximately 22", however, including the wand attached, total length is 24". Best regards, Edward

What are the differences between models?

What are the differences between the Trinsic model 9159-AR-DST and the Allentown model 19935-SSSD-DST sold thru Home Depot? What would I get for an extra $200?
Asked by: CharlieW
Hi CharlieQW, Thank you for your question. The main difference between the 9159-AR-DST and the 19935-SSSD-DST is in the styling of the faucet. Both faucets are pulldown spray models with magnedock, touch clean sprayheads, and our Diamand Seal Technology cartridges. Thanks, Dave

We are looking for a new kitchen faucet and like this model, but we have low water pressure at our kitchen sink and would like to NOT have the flow restricted to 1.8 gpm. Is there an easy way to do that?

I'm having new stone counter tops installed in my kitchen. I'm having a company come over to take measurements. spray hose composition

within 5 years, our current faucet hose deteriorated, possibly chlorine in the city water was the blame. What is the trinsic 9159-dst spray hose made of? What are the supply hoses made of? How long will they last in chlorine water? Too, how much room do I need to operate the on/off lever? How much room do I need between the lever and soap dispenser? thank you
Asked by: anna
Hi Anna, Thank you for your question. The spray hose is made of an ultracore liner. The ultracore liner was developed to be resistance to chlorine and chloramines. The supply tubes are PEX (cross linked Polyethylene) which are also designed to be chlorine and chloramine resistant. Both the hoses and the supply lines are covered under the lifetime warranty for the product. The handle needs 1-1/2" of clearance to the rear and will extend out 4-3/8" to the right of the faucet centers. If you are placing the soap dispenser to the left of the spout 4" centers would be a normal distance. If you are placing the soap dispenser to the right , 6" centers should give you enough space. I have attached a link to the spec sheet for the model 9159-DST below. Thanks, Dave http://www.deltafaucet.com/customersupport/documentation/9159-dst.html?document=ts&fromDetailArea=kitchen&documentIndex=0#flashWrapper

Will faucet work with a tight backsplash

I have about 2" between the center of my hole and the backsplash of my counter. I was wondering if the faucet would still work in this tight space. For example, does the handle operate only in a pull down fashion or does it require space to push the handle back to turn on either the hot or cold water. Thanks.
Asked by: Dweezle64
The faucet works in pull down only. It is in the off position in the picture, but it moves to half way down to be on hot fully. You move the faucet handle to the right to turn it on and it only moves about an inch or less to the right to be on full force. The answer is yes, you can use this in a tight spot. The faucet does not operate back at all, all the movement in the handle is down and to the right.

What is the purpose for the min 2.5" clearance

What is the purpose for the min 2.5" clearance from the center of the faucet to the backsplash? It seems it wouldn't be for the faucet handle since it moves out and forward, not backward. I have about 2" clearance and want to get this faucet but am confused if the 2" clearance would be enough for the faucet to be installed correctly and function properly.
Asked by: kyla
Dear Kyla, Thank you for your question. The Delta Trinsic Kitchen Pull-Down 9159-DST faucet has a recommended minimum 1 1/2" (38 mm) clearance to the back splash, due to the spout being able to swing 360 degrees. Best regards, Tanya
