Rated 4 out of 5 by from kitchen faucet flow options Overall, I like this faucet, but the spray option is 2 separate sprays instead of a full spray. Doesn't work as well to rinse of sink or rinse a sieve. My old Delta was better in this regard.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Delta touch faucet Excellent product! Faucet is touch controlled making washing so much easier and is beautiful!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Over Priced, Under Featured Faucet pressure is very low, almost to the point of being unusable and yes, I have flushed the lines, ensured none of the screens are blocked, etc. Without the shower head there is plenty of pressure. The issue appears to be in amount of stuff in the head. Further, when adjusting the touches sensor off since it gets so annoying to actually have the water go on and off when you move within 6-8 inches of the faucet, it never actually goes off. Even in the off setting, the faucet will still go on and off if you are within an inch or two of it. Lots of money for a faucet that I now just use the handle to turn off and on vs the whole point of touch/touchless.

Q&A

I purchased the Cassidy faucet last year before the Spray Shield was offered. Is it possible to order just the new spray shield nozzle part and switch it out? If so, is it easy to switch out and do I order it?

Asked by: Leslie3416
Thank you for your question, Leslie! You can purchase and install the RP90839 Wand Assembly with ShieldSpray on an existing 9197-DST faucet. Installation is as easy as unscrewing the original wand from the hose and screwing the new one back on. This part can be purchased online or over the phone at 1-800-345-3358. Best regards, Jon

Is there a way to switch this faucet so the spray goes back to regular flow when turned off and on?

Asked by: lise
Thank you for your inquiry, Lise! The spray modes on the model 9197-DST work on a toggle type switch. You will move the switch between the stream and spray modes. When you turn the water off it will remain in whatever mode you were using. The faucet does not switch back to the stream mode automatically. Best regards, Tanya

We have had a kitchen faucet 9197-RB-DST for a year. The flow slowed, so I took the head off and cleaned the surface debris off the aerator screen. Is there a way to further break the head down and actually clean the interior? Is this advisable?

Asked by: Jack
Thank you for your question, Jack! A Delta spray wand is not designed or advised to be taken apart and does not contain repair parts. Doing so will also void the warranty. For low flow issues we recommend using the Touch-Clean spray holes, which allow you to easily wipe away calcium and lime build-up with the touch of a finger. You may also want to remove the wand and check that the flow has improved without the wand attached as a blockage could be elsewhere. For further removal of internal buildup in the wand, we recommend pouring a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water directly through the wand, or for stubborn buildup, you may soak the wand in this mixture for thirty minutes. Please contact us directly if you need further assistance. Best regards, Edward

On the 9197-RB-DST model, with the handle upright and the 'H' visible, should this be connected to the hot water line and with the handle down and the 'C' visible should this be connected to the cold water line?

Asked by: glbear73
Thank you for your question, glbear73! Moving the handle toward the C to the upright position will provide cold water and moving it toward the H (forward) will increase the temperature. Best regards, Jon

Hi, What material is the spray nozzle on model 9197 Cassidy?  Is it metal or plastic?

Asked by: Bltroche
Hi, Biltroche! Thank you for your question. The sprayer assembly for the Delta 9197-RB-DST faucet is non-metallic. All of our current sprayers are non-metallic. This helps prevent heat transfer that could result in scalding and reduce weight. Non-metallic parts are also beneficial in that they do not rust or corrode. Please know that all of our products are tested to ensure long-lasting use and have a Lifetime Limited Warranty. Best Regards, Rosanna

We recently got this faucet and when you switch the button from spray to stream and vice verse it still drips or sprays a little of the opposite option. If I go and push the button harder it will fix the problem. I’m concerned that eventually it won’t.

Asked by: Annette
Hi, Annette! Thank you for your question. If the sprayer assembly is experiencing cross flow, water coming out of both spray and stream on the sprayer of the 9197-DST, we recommend to soak the sprayer in a solution of 50% white vinegar and 50% water solution for an hour or even overnight. If this does not solve the issue, we recommend to replace the sprayer assembly, RP72680. If you should need assistance with a replacement, please contact our Delta Customer Service line at (800)345-3358. We are available Monday-Friday, 7am-7pm, CST and Saturday, 8am-5pm, CST. You may also email at customerservice@deltafaucet.com. Best Regards, Rosanna

Can someone tell me the vertical distance (space) between the valve and the sink / escutcheon?

Our dishwasher air gap is mounted just a few inches from the hole for the faucet. It's been heck trying to find a faucet that has a right-side control lever that doesn't interfere. This model appear to have a higher mounted control lever but I can't find the measurement in the specifications.
Asked by: Reverberocket
Hi Reverberocket, Thank you for your question. The measurement from the deck to the bottom of the handle assembly/valve on the model 9197-AR-DST is approximately 4-1/2". Thanks, Dave

What type of metal is used and where?

I have searched all the Q&A answers, and although a couple of people asked what the faucet is made of, the answers given are not specific enough. Exactly what type of metal is used- Brass? Zinc? Zamak? What parts are metal and what parts are plastic? Your website conveniently (actually inconveniently) leaves out all details regarding material which is not a good sign for anyone looking for a quality faucet.
Asked by: DG
Hi DG, Thank you for your question. The faucet body, spout, and handle are metal. Unfortunately, we do not have a complete breakdown of the materials used. In general, metal parts are usually brass (hub, handle, body, tube, fittings), zinc (escutcheon, hub, handle), or stainless steel (set screw, undercover plate). Best regards, Jon

2 Questions on Operation

1. Which way do you move the side-mounted lever handle to turn the water ON - Up or Down; Front or Back? 2. Does the pull down spray wand have a water shut-off button? That is, can you shut the water flow completely OFF from the pull down?
Asked by: GrumpyGeezer
To turn the faucet on, you move the handle out. Front and back are the temperature control. Back being hotter, cold is forward. There is not a shut-off on the pulldown spray attachment, just a rocker switch for spray and regular flow.

Can this faucet be installed with the control on the left?

Asked by: Mike h
Thank you for your question, Mike, Thank you for your question. We recommend installing it with the handle on the right. The handle operates by tilting away from the faucet to turn on. The vertical (back) position gives cold water and rotating the handle forward provides hot. Unfortunately, there is no way to reverse the movement, so if the handle is installed on the left, it will rotate backward. Best regards, Jon
