At over $600 I was skeptical it wasn’t like the box store faucet. It is definitely designed and made of better materials. Best of all it puts a good flow and volume of water. Good job Delta!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Replacement Replaced same model that was 16 years old. Noticed some changes. Water comes out noisier. Replaced braided stainless steel hose with a rubber one. I hope it holds up as well as the previous one. The brushed nickel finish looks almost like stainless steel.

Does the spray function continue without requiring continual hold of the button?

Hi Jen, Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # 9978-AR-DST does not require you to hold the button down to change from spray to stream. It will stay in the spray mode until you switch it back to stream even after the faucet is turned off.

What escutcheon plate can be purchased for a 978-AR-DST, to go from a four hole to a two hole

Hi C, Thank you for your question. The 978-AR-DST offers an escutheon to go from a 2 hole to a 4 hole installation but unfortunately does not offer a 2 hole escutcheon. The spout and valve are 2 separate pieces. Thanks, Dave

How long is the pull down hose on this faucet?

Is this significantly smaller than model 9178-AR-DST?

I need a regular kitchen sink faucet as well as a smaller bar sink faucet. It has been difficult to find both in the same collection. I like the 9178 for the regular sink. How much smaller is the 9978 than the 9178? Will it truly work for a bar sink, which is quite a bit smaller than a regular kitchen sink?

Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # 9178-DST is 9 13/64" long and 14 7/8" high. Delta Faucet model # 9978-DST is 6 11/16" long and 14" high.

I would like to take off the faucet head because it has begun to spray - I assume build up is inside the head. I see the little piece you can push in but it doesn't want to come apart from the hose easily. Is there a trick to take the head off?

The spec indicates a min clearance of 2.5 inches from center of hole for faucet to backsplash. I only have 2 inches.  Why is 2.5 inches needed since the handle goes forward and not back? Will 2 inches work?

Thank you for your question, Bridget! The minimum clearance to the back splash is typically suggested for lavatory models with lift rods or for models where the handle does reach backwards. This is still suggested for maximum comfort and ease of use with the handle; however this model can still work with only 2". Best regards, Edward

I see where you have answered the question about the difference between Model 9178 and 9678. What is the difference between those and Model 19978?

Hello Kathy 61, Thank you for your question. The Delta Leland Pull-Down 19978-SS-DST faucet is a Home Depot exclusive model and it is similar to the Leland 9178-AR-DST faucet.
