Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than expected Replaced older, more expensive Delta faucet where cartridge could not be changed due to stripped set screw. Was height limited by cabinet above sink. Wanted magnetic coupling but unavailable in faucet that fit. Surprisingly, this faucet recoils and mates easier than the one it replaces.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Beautiful faucet, worked well for first 2 years Beautiful faucet, worked well for a couple of years then began leaking (hard to shut off flow) due to cartridge (part # RP50587Y). Florida water is hard and hard on the cartridge. Delta is gracious enough to send replacement cartridges under warranty; otherwise, at $40 a pop for a new cartridge, I would not be able to afford to keep it. First cartridge lasted 2 years, the second lasted for almost 3 years. I miss the o-ring replacement type faucets. Rating would be lower but saved by the great warranty service.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Flawed design, now leaks I purchased at Home Depot about a year ago and although it is pretty solid, the design of the switch makes it difficult to fully close consistently. Now, over time, the faucet has started to leak. I never had this issue with my Moen faucet because their switch/valve made it easier to fully shut off. I was hoping this faucet would last longer.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very disappointed I purchased this faucet and it worked well for a few months. Now the spray nozzle gets stuck in the faucet and nearly impossible to remove and insert as it should. I tried lubricants to help; however, to no avail.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy install if you’re replacing a newer faucet It took my son and I a full day to install the faucet. I had a faucet that was about 15 years old, and it was leaking and in bad shape. I bought this faucet at Home Depot and brought it home just to find out the water lines were a different size. We had to make three trips back to Home Depot to find the right adaptor. If your faucet is over fifteen years old they changed the standard for faucets since then, but that was about the only problem we ran into a couple more hiccups because the directions were not that good. Other than that for the first day the water flow and sprayer worked great, compared to what I had it is a dream.

Q&A

How to replace parts RP50587 & RP50587 ?

Asked by: MaryLou
Hi MaryLou, Thank you for your question. The water supplies below the counter must be shut off before attempting to change these parts. Once the handle button and set screw have been removed, unscrew the cap and bonnet nut. The RP50587 DST cartridge then lifts out. The new parts can then be changed. Make sure you do not over-tighten the bonnet nut as we recommend only one full turn with a wrench past finger tight. Best regards, Edward

Need a quick disconnect connector that will fit this faucet

I want to connect a portable washer to the 16953-DST faucet in my kitchen but the threads on the aerator are non-standard and I am not able to find an adapter. Please advise on the part # for an adapter to change from the aerator thread size to a standard aerator thread size - or - the part # for a quick connect that will fit this aerator thread and attach to 3/4in pipe thread. Thanks!
Asked by: Dan
Hi Dan, Thank you for your question. We do not recommend hooking up a portable dishwasher to the model 16953-DST faucet. Portable dishwashers should never be connected to Pull-out or Pull-down kitchen faucets due to potential pressure fluctuations during dishwasher operation that may result in rupturing of the hose. Thanks, Dave

Grant Model #16953-ss-dst single handle pull out kitchen faucet installed the product however water is still dripping from the spout after use

Asked by: Jennie
Hi, Thank you for your question, and I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing a leak from your Delta faucet. There is a bonnet nut that is holding the cartridge down, underneath your handle. We recommend to tighten the bonnet nut to stop the leak. To do this, turn the water off at your shut off valve. Remove the handle. Tighten the bonnet by turning clockwise, to the right. Install the handle back on and turn the water back on. Test the faucet. If the faucet still leaks, we recommend to replace both the valve cartridge assembly, RP50587, and the bonnet nut, RP51503. Best Regards, Rosanna

Where can I get the tool to remove the handle?

Asked by: Gary
But in addition to the 1/8 Allen Nut. You first have to pop it’s cover off, to gain access. The cover is the round piece on the exterior front bottom of the handle. It has red and blue dots on it to indicate direction of Hot and Cold. To remove this use a very small screwdriver to pry it up through the tiny notch at the bottom of the cover.
Answered by: Pry up the cover first

No hot water from only this faucet. I cleaned the aerator, no change. Any idea what the problem is?

Asked by: PJMcG
Hello PJMcG, Thank you for your question. It sounds like there maybe some debris or particles in the hot water supply valve or line. We would advise flushing the supply lines. To flush, please first turn off the water supply to the faucet. Gather an adjustable wrench, some towels and a bucket. Disconnect the hot side Innoflex line. Move the handle to the full on position, middle temp. Point the hot side Innoflex line into a bucket. Turn on the cold supply valve full. Let a gallon or two flow into the bucket. Shut off cold supply. Check bucket for debris. If no debris, empty bucket and run one more time. Move handle to off position. Reattach hot side line. Turn on both water supply valves. Best regards, Tanya
