Replaced older, more expensive Delta faucet where cartridge could not be changed due to stripped set screw. Was height limited by cabinet above sink. Wanted magnetic coupling but unavailable in faucet that fit. Surprisingly, this faucet recoils and mates easier than the one it replaces.

Beautiful faucet, worked well for first 2 years
Beautiful faucet, worked well for a couple of years then began leaking (hard to shut off flow) due to cartridge (part # RP50587Y). Florida water is hard and hard on the cartridge. Delta is gracious enough to send replacement cartridges under warranty; otherwise, at $40 a pop for a new cartridge, I would not be able to afford to keep it. First cartridge lasted 2 years, the second lasted for almost 3 years. I miss the o-ring replacement type faucets. Rating would be lower but saved by the great warranty service.

Flawed design, now leaks
I purchased at Home Depot about a year ago and although it is pretty solid, the design of the switch makes it difficult to fully close consistently. Now, over time, the faucet has started to leak. I never had this issue with my Moen faucet because their switch/valve made it easier to fully shut off. I was hoping this faucet would last longer.

Very disappointed
I purchased this faucet and it worked well for a few months.
Now the spray nozzle gets stuck in the faucet and nearly impossible to remove and insert as it should. I tried lubricants to help; however, to no avail.

Easy install if you’re replacing a newer faucet
It took my son and I a full day to install the faucet. I had a faucet that was about 15 years old, and it was leaking and in bad shape. I bought this faucet at Home Depot and brought it home just to find out the water lines were a different size. We had to make three trips back to Home Depot to find the right adaptor. If your faucet is over fifteen years old they changed the standard for faucets since then, but that was about the only problem we ran into a couple more hiccups because the directions were not that good.
Other than that for the first day the water flow and sprayer worked great, compared to what I had it is a dream.

My grant pull out faucet is dripping. How can I fix it?
Is there a way to lean out the aerator. About a month ago the flow stopped and I disconnected the hose and cleaned out some black particles. Since then the water comes out downward AND SIDEWAYS.

Never connect a portable dishwasher to pull-out or pull-down kitchen faucets, as potential pressure fluctuations during dishwasher operation may result in the hose rupturing.

We just purchased and installed a Grant model no. 16953-DST faucet and cannot figure out how to take the handle off if it needs adjusting. We see the little red and blue dots under the handle.

The handle is removed by loosening the set screw underneath the cover button with red and blue dots. Work the button out with a small non-metallic tool, such as a toothpick, card, or the curved side of a paperclip.

The installation instructions, both online and in the box, are for model 106557. My faucet was installed with the handle stuck to the left. It works, but will not cross the midline to the right. I hope this is not correct!

This faucet's handle moves to the left and right to adjust the temperature. I recommend checking the position of the handle limit stop. To change positions of the handle limit stop: remove the handle; move the valve stem to the all cold position so the water is on; change the position of the handle limit stop; turn off the water; reinstall the handle.

We’ve had the 16953-DST faucet installed for 3 years with no issues. Recently the entire fixture part above the back of the sink has become quite wiggly. I went underneath the sink to check and found both screws stuck, probably from rust that I can’t see.

If the screws are too tight, we would recommend soaking a rag in a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water and wrapping it around the mounting nut covering the screws.

After removed the handle, do i need a special tool to remove the 'nut'? and how?

Thank you for your question about the Delta Faucet model 16953-SS-DST.
The finished cap should be able to unscrew by hand or with a channel strap. It is possible that there are mineral deposits built up underneath the cap. We recommend using a towel soaked with a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and cold water. Soak the area for a couple of hours or overnight is better.
The bonnet nut under the cap should be tightened securely with a wrench and a wrench would be needed to unscrew the bonnet.

The noise is caused by a worn or damaged o-ring part number RP44648. To remove the faucet hub, turn off the water, disconnect the hose under the sink, pull the hose up and out of the faucet, then remove the handle and cap. Lift the hub off of the valve to change the o-ring.

What size Allen wrench is needed to tighten handle? Or other type wrench if not Allen?

Thank you for your question and we are happy to help! The Allen wrench is used to tighten the set screw in the handle and you would need a 1/8th Allen wrench. To tighten the bonnet nut, we recommend using a crescent wrench, and to tighten anything on the exterior where the finish could be damaged, we recommend a strap wrench or putting a microfiber cloth underneath your crescent wrench to protect the finish.

Have Delta kitchen faucet model 16953-DST. Have it for many years very happy. It has start to give me a problem shutting it off. I have to keep moving it to stop it from leaking. Is there any fix for this or is it time for a new one?
