Rated 1 out of 5 by from Leaks, replacements leaks worse Bought a 4453 for clients doing a kitchen remodel. First faucet leaked right from the start, would not shut off. Returned first faucet for a replacement, installed it and the replacement leaks worse than the original. Now, after reading reviews here, I see this is a very common problem, been going on for years. I specified Delta to my clients to pick from, now I look like an idiot. DO NOT BUY THIS FAUCET. I am out two installs so far and have an upset client. Not sure what to do now, Cients #2 choise was the 441 model, but after reading reviews, looks like same issue. Someone please help me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful replacement This is a beautiful and functional kitchen faucet. It was a replacement for one that just wore out, not a Delta. I was concerned about the color since I had brushed nickel, but it matches well. Easy to use and is everything I wanted.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed but I will live! It water spots badly, the old one just like it was heavier and did not spot so badly. You also have to find the sweet spot when turning off or it drips. It is the exact faucet model of the previous one, wish I had chosen a different faucet.

Almost impossible to get it stop dripping/leaking and now today the ha doe decided to break off completely. Not the set screw either, like the actual “metal” inside the handle that houses the set screw just broke in half. After owning for a short period of time I am not impressed from “top brand”. Will be looking elsewhere from here on it. Stay clear!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Never Again I had this faucet installed in 2010. By 2019 it was dripping. Delta sent me a replacement cartridge which solved the dripping for 2 years. I now have the same problem again and expected a cartridge to last longer. I’ve also noted the problem others reference. You basically have to turn this off in a very precise way or it will stay on dripping. So annoying.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don’t buy Do yourself a favor and don’t buy. Unfortunately this was the faucet that our builder picked for our new house. Within less than a year it was leaking. I figured how to position the handle just right to stop the stream. Eventually it wouldn’t even shut off. I contacted delta and they sent out a replacement part. Well less than 6 months later same issue again. Delta I don’t want a replacement part I want a new faucet that works for a lifetime like you claim it will.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great faucet, questionable installation. This delta faucet works great, but the 3/8" PEX supply lines leave a lot to be desired. I had to get a pair of SharkBite fittings and braided supply lines to finish the install. The PEX was simply too stiff to do a worry-free installation.

The design of the Diverter Clip is one of the dumbest things I've come across. Once the Sprayer's attachment popped out of the housing, the original Spray Cap and O-ring suffers the same problem. This renders the kitchen sink useless. It's as if the designers have never seen a compressor coupler kit for an air hose. My last Delta faucet lasted over 14 years. This is my last Delta faucet.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Design Flaw Purchased and installed about a year ago. Have problem with water turn off ...water runs down column and into the 180 degree base causing rusting and squeaking. I have to oil the base to eliminate squeaking about every two or three months.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Leaking sprayer tubing dripping faucet I have a wet flooded cabinet under my sink and into the ceiling tiles below due to the tubing which is connected at the head of the spryer splitting, It is an obvious split and malfunction of the tubing. I now have to order, have installed and replace a part which should not have split it was not overused or aggressively used. And it should stand up to heat/cold and usage. In addition I bought this 2 years ago and the facuet has dripped for over a year now. I have to remember to ensure it is off tightly everytime.I have lived with always checking for drips but now I have to order and replace a sprayer which should never have split like it did. I do not recommend this product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn't stand up to Delta's reputation I bought this a few years ago. From day 1 it had a low flow rate, which I just "lived with". Then the side sprayer started to stick while on. I finally replaced that. And recently over that past few months, the water doesn't not shut off completely when pulling the handle down. You have to find an EXACT position, after half a dozen tries or more. Quite frustrating and after reading the other reviews, this seems to be common in this model.

You have to move the handle to the left just a certain amount to get it to shut off. It has to be in the EXACT location, or the water will still run. i now check it when i have to get up in the middle of the night. It's been that way from the day I installed it. I don't know if they are all bad, or just the one I have. Very disappointed in Delta.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Attractive look, subpar life expectancy Attractive looking faucet, that doesn't last. From the beginning, this faucet has had issues when shutting off the water, especially from hot. Many times I've found the faucet running or dripping. To turn off the water, you have to adjust the handle to pinpoint the exact spot to shut the water off. Constantly adjusting the handle each time the water is shutoff is very frustrating. The handle has become stiff, and squeaks when moved between hot and cold, along with a slight leak.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Looks good, Doesn't work too good. I've had this faucet for 7 years. When you pull the handle forward to shut off the water, it still leaks. You have to move the handle to the left just a certain amount to get it to shut off. It has to be in the EXACT location, or the water will still run. If it's left or right three microns, it still runs. I've walked in the kitchen thousands of times to see the water still on. It's been that way from the day I installed it. I don't know if they are all bad, or just the one I have. I have a bathroom faucet from Delta that does the same thing. Bad engineering I'm thinking. Very disappointed in Delta.

Have had this faucet a little over a year, the sprayer sticks in the on position, water is hard to turn off as the handle has to be in just the right position. Find the water streaming quite often as my wife has a hard time turning it off. Have used Delta faucets all 53 years we have been married and have been very pleased until this one.

I usually avoid single handle faucets, but this one operates very efficiently. The faucet serves a double utility sink, so with the separate side spray, the water reaches to all areas as needed. Delta makes and reliable product which most plumbers prefer to more upscale products.

Can the faucet be installed without the escutcheon plate?

I.e., a single-hole installation (plus a 2nd hole for the side sprayer)

Hi RiponEric, Thank you for your question. You can install the model 4453-DST faucet without the 3 hole escutcheon plate using the RP60692 single hole escutcheon. The faucet can be installed as a 2 or 4 hole installation with the side sprayer. Thanks, Dave

Is there any way to hook a portable dishwasher to this? Or an adapter or something?

Metal Components?

Is this faucet made with metal components, or is it constructed with cheap plastic like I'd find in faucets at Lowe's Hardware?

in regards to the Aerator and the blue tool that came with it, i'm not even sure how to use it. It doesn't seem to turn much either way, unless i'm using it wrong. Can you advise?

Hi, str8steelerfan! Thanks for your question. The Delta 4453-DST aerator wrench can be used like a key. Fit the teeth of the aerator wrench into the grooves of the aerator in the spout and unscrew counterclockwise to remove. Best regards, Themar

How do I clean the filter screen?

Thank you for your question, Mrs106! This model uses a cache or hidden aerator that requires the supplied wrench, part number RP52217 for removal. We received the kit RP53880 to replace a defective sprayer, how does that come apart? There were no instructions with it.

Dear Krista, Thank you for your inquiry! The vegetable/side sprayer assembly RP53880, that comes with the Delta Linden 4353-DST faucet model doesn't come apart. You would need to remove the old one and install the full new sprayer assembly. Is there any swivel aerator that will work with 4453-DST Linden?

We interested in possibly adding a swivel aerator.

Hi Dave, Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, we do not make a swivel aerator that is designed to work with this model. However, you may be able to adapt the RP63137 to fit. The spout of the faucet has 13/16"-27 threads and the RP63137 has 15/16" - 27 male threads.
