Q&A

Does anyone know the how far the hand spray extends? I'm looking for one that extends at least 24".

Asked by: CMMH
Once the 54" hose that it comes with is installed, how much of that hose can be extended from the faucet? If I substitute it with the 62" hose, are you saying that it will only extend 18-22" from the faucet? I am looking for a faucet that has approx. 24" extension to reach cooktop next to sink. Thank you.

Can this be used in an outdoor application? We are looking at specifying it for an outdoor kitchen in an enclosed courtyard on a multifamily project. Thanks.

Asked by: Studio Outside
Hi, Studio Outside! Thank you for your question. Unfortunately none of our kitchen sink faucets are specifically designed to be installed outdoors. They are not designed to withstand extreme cold weather conditions (freezing) or direct sunlight from the sun in the summer months. If you do decide to install one of our faucets outdoors, then please remember that our warranty only covers manufactures defects. Damage incurred to the faucet by the extreme weather conditions are not covered by our warranty program. Best Regards, Rosanna

How do I adjust the temperature on a single handle faucet like this?

I have one in a new house we bought. It starts out cold but soon turns to hot. We can't figure out how to adjust the temp.
Asked by: Mark
Hi, Mark! Thank you for your question. You will want to make sure to move the handle away from the faucet to turn on the water. When the handle is out, the water should be all cold. When you move the handle closer to you, the water should get warmer until the handle is towards you, it should be at the hottest position. Best Regards, Rosanna

How far will the pull-out reach?

Asked by: Chris
Water flow can be very strong, in fact it is hard not to spend so much water. It is not normal to open gently, meaning first you pull out lots of water come out. It doesn't pull out that far to be a problem. I would not recommend the ergonomics of this faucet, I have it and I am stuck with it.

Asked by: tania4444
Thank you for your question, tania4444! I do apologize that you are not getting any water flow to your touch faucet, but will be more than happy to help! Model 9159T-DST runs on batteries, as a default option. When those batteries die, the light at the base of the faucet will blink red 3 times. Once the batteries die, the faucet will not be able to get water until new batteries are installed. Feel free to contact us directly, if you need further assistance. Best Regards, Benjamin

We have one of these faucets installed in our office and recently the flow on the hot water side is greatly reduced almost to a trickle. The hot water supply valve is wide open. Please advise as to the best option for troubleshoot this problem.

Asked by: craig1961
Hi, craig1961! Thank you for your question, and I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing low flow from your Delta faucet. Over time, common water debris will settle in the house supply lines. Anytime the water is shut off to a portion of the home, this debris can become dislodged and will move through the pipes to be caught by a faucet. Local construction or the changing of the seasons can also cause this. Flushing the supply lines through the unit should remedy this situation. To flush the unit, we recommend the following: Start with the easy stuff: Remove your aerator, wand or hose to check the flow through the unit without that part installed. If the flow is good, the piece you’ve removed is where the issue is. Soaking the part in a 50/50 mixture of white vinegar and water could help remove any particles or debris blocking the flow. If the water does not have a good flow, the problem could be in the faucet. Next, check the supply lines for debris: Turn the supply off to both the hot and cold-water lines. Once off, turn the handle on the faucet to the on position and leave it there to bleed the lines of any excess water. Next, disconnect the hot water supply line and place it inside of a bucket. Once the line is securely positioned into the bucket, turn on the cold-water supply. Since the handle was left in the on position, the water will flow up the cold supply line, through the faucet cartridge and back down the hot water line into the bucket. Leave this flowing for at least 30 seconds. After flushing, reconnect the hot water line and repeat this process with the cold-water line to ensure all particles have been removed from both supplies. If this does not fix the issue, please contact us back. Best Regards, Rosanna

Is there a particular cleaning product I should use so as not to damage the finish? I have the brass/champagne bronze finish.

Asked by: Becca
Hi there Becca, Thank you for your inquiry! A comprehensive list of cleaners is impossible to recommend because of the variety of materials that are a part of our many models of faucets. What may be fine for a spout may damage a handle. To clean, simply wipe gently with a damp cloth and blot dry with a soft towel. Stubborn hard water spots are best avoided by this daily regime. If extra measure is needed, a solution of 50% white vinegar (never Apple vinegar) could be used by wiping, spraying or soaking. Caution: Vinegar can permanently damage porous rock surfaces such as granite or limestone countertops. Use extreme care if such a surface is in the vicinity. To soak a faucet or part still on a faucet: 1. Mix white vinegar and tap water to a half and half proportion. 2. Put a rag or towel in the solution to soak it up. 3. Wrap the rag or towel around the part. 4. Let sit for up to an hour or so. 5. Use the rag or a clean, soft toothbrush to scrub the remaining hard water buildup. o Avoid harsh abrasives or polish o Avoid bleach-based cleaners o Avoid industrial cleaners and abrasive cleaners, such as those used for toilet bowls, green Scotch-Brite heavy duty scrub sponges, Scrubbing Bubbles Bathroom Cleaner and Lysol Basin Tub, Soft Scrub, and Tile Cleaner. o Avoid products that state on the label that they remove tarnish and rust, and those containing hydrofluoric, hydrochloric and/or phosphoric acids and caustic agents. o Because cleaning formulas can change without notice, Delta Faucet Company does not endorse any specific cleaner.
