Q&A

What are the differences between models?

What are the differences between the Trinsic model 9159-AR-DST and the Allentown model 19935-SSSD-DST sold thru Home Depot? What would I get for an extra $200?
Asked by: CharlieW
Hi CharlieQW, Thank you for your question. The main difference between the 9159-AR-DST and the 19935-SSSD-DST is in the styling of the faucet. Both faucets are pulldown spray models with magnedock, touch clean sprayheads, and our Diamand Seal Technology cartridges. Thanks, Dave

Is there a way to increase the water flow to 2.2 gpm?

We are looking for a new kitchen faucet and like this model, but we have low water pressure at our kitchen sink and would like to NOT have the flow restricted to 1.8 gpm. Is there an easy way to do that?
Asked by: Jen
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # 9159-AR-DST is set at 1.8 gpm at 60 psi. This is to follow today's water legislation. We do not offer a higher gpm aerator for this model.

Bought the bar faucet. Water pressure dropped suddenly. Cannot get nozzle head off to clean, have followed instructions to turn counter-clockwise. Would appreciate more detailed instructions. Help!

Asked by: Michelle1962
Hello Michelle1962, Thank you for your question. The sprayer assembly for the Delta 9959-AR-DST faucet unscrews counterclockwise at the hose connection. Once removed, this can be soaked in a solution of 50% white vinegar and 50% water solution and can be soaked for an hour or even overnight. Best regards, Tanya

Is there a filter that can be cleaned out in the pull down part of the faucet where it screws off?

Asked by: Tammy
Thank you for your question, Tammy! There is a screen where the spray wand connects to the hose that you can check for debris. You can also soak the complete wand in a 50/50 white vinegar and water solution to help dissolve any mineral buildup. Best regards, Jon

Delta 9159 vs. 9959

Is it possible to use the 9959 bar/prep sized faucet as a main kitchen faucet? Is 6.5" spout reach too short for a 30" undermount sink? Besides size/dimensions are there any differences between the 9159 and 9959 Trinsic faucets specs or features?
Asked by: marissyt
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet models 9159-DST and 9959-DST are the same faucet with the 9959-DST just being a smaller version of the kitchen faucet. The only reason we would not recommend using the 9959-DST is it may not have the reach that you would like to all corners of the sink but that is a personal preference issue.

spray hose composition

within 5 years, our current faucet hose deteriorated, possibly chlorine in the city water was the blame. What is the trinsic 9159-dst spray hose made of? What are the supply hoses made of? How long will they last in chlorine water? Too, how much room do I need to operate the on/off lever? How much room do I need between the lever and soap dispenser? thank you
Asked by: anna
Hi Anna, Thank you for your question. The spray hose is made of an ultracore liner. The ultracore liner was developed to be resistance to chlorine and chloramines. The supply tubes are PEX (cross linked Polyethylene) which are also designed to be chlorine and chloramine resistant. Both the hoses and the supply lines are covered under the lifetime warranty for the product. The handle needs 1-1/2" of clearance to the rear and will extend out 4-3/8" to the right of the faucet centers. If you are placing the soap dispenser to the left of the spout 4" centers would be a normal distance. If you are placing the soap dispenser to the right , 6" centers should give you enough space. I have attached a link to the spec sheet for the model 9159-DST below. Asked by: Grant
Hi, Grant! Thank you for your question. Both Delta 9159-BL-DST and the Trinsic bathroom faucets should move out to turn on and give cold water. Pulling the handle towards you and down will give hot water. Best Regards, Rosanna

Flow rate

I had this faucet installed in a kitchen remodel. It's beautiful and looks great in my kitchen. It works great in "spray" mode, but in the "regular" flow seems very slow/weak to me. Could something be wrong with the faucet, or the installation? I read in one of the customer reviews that the flow seems to be somewhat of a "low flow". I'm just wondering if this is intended, or if we did something wrong. Thanks!

The wand assembly probably needs to be taken apart and cleaned. There is a YouTube video illustrating this. Here are the steps: 1. Use small screw driver at top of button to pop it off. 2. Remove the Phillips head set screw. 3. Slide interior assembly down slightly to expose set screw hole in small plastic "cam" piece. 4. Pop out (from bottom) the small plastic "cam" piece. 5. Slide interior assembly down to completely remove. 6. Unscrew the bottom part (about 1/2" long) of interior assembly. 7. Clean both parts of interior assembly (this will be obvious!). Reassemble the wand assembly by repeating the above steps in reverse order. Replace the button (last reassembly step) by pushing in bottom part first. If button does not work, remove and try again. This took me several tries. Here is the link to the YouTube video, which is not mine, but was very helpful: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p7Yx1f1r5lQ&feature=em-share_video_user

What type of cleaner do you recommend for the Artic Stainless finish?

Asked by: Karen
Hi Karen, Thank you for your question! Here is the cleaning and care information for our Delta products below: Always blot dry any water from faucet surface. Allowing water to evaporate on the surface can lead to build up of mineral deposits. Cleaning with a damp non-abrasive sponge and buffing it dry with a clean soft cloth should help keep your product looking beautiful. To remove water spots, use warm water and a soft, damp cloth. Hard water stains may be removed using a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water. Make certain that you rinse thoroughly with water afterward. If additional cleaning is required, all of our finishes may be cleaned with the following household cleaners: Formula 409® Antibacterial All Purpose Cleaner, Fantastik® All Purpose Cleaner, or Windex® Original Glass Cleaner, when used according to the manufacturers' instructions for use. Avoid using the following which can damage your finish: Avoid industrial cleaners and abrasive cleaners, such as those used for toilet bowls, green Scotch-Brite heavy duty scrub sponges, Scrubbing Bubbles Bathroom Cleaner and Lysol Basin Tub, Soft Scrub, and Tile Cleaner. Avoid products that state on the label that they remove tarnish and rust, and those containing hydrofluoric, hydrochloric and/or phosphoric acids and caustic agents. Avoid harsh abrasives or polishes Avoid bleach-based cleaners Best regards, Brandis

Asked by: Brett
Thank you for your question, Brett! The Delta Trinsic Faucet models 9159-DST and 9959-DST are the same faucets, with the 9959-DST just being a smaller version of the kitchen faucet. Hi there! I installed my delta faucet and the water flow both hot and cold water are low, tried with anothe faucet and flow water runs faster, is there some adjustment or something I can do to fix it? Thanks a lot!

Asked by: CH335
Hi, CH335! Thank you for your question. I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing low flow from your faucet. Over time, common water debris will settle in the house supply lines. Anytime the water is shut off to a portion of the home, this debris can become dislodged and will move through the pipes to be caught by a faucet. Local construction or the changing of the seasons can also cause this. Flushing the supply lines through the unit should remedy this situation. To flush the unit, we recommend the following: Start with the easy stuff: Remove your aerator, wand or hose to check the flow through the unit without that part installed. If the flow is good, the piece you’ve removed is where the issue is. Soaking the part in a 50/50 mixture of white vinegar and water could help remove any particles or debris blocking the flow. If the water does not have a good flow, the problem could be in the faucet. Next, check the supply lines for debris: Turn the supply off to both the hot and cold-water lines. Once off, turn the handle on the faucet to the on position and leave it there to bleed the lines of any excess water. Next, disconnect the hot water supply line and place it inside of a bucket. Once the line is securely positioned into the bucket, turn on the cold-water supply. Since the handle was left in the on position, the water will flow up the cold supply line, through the faucet cartridge and back down the hot water line into the bucket. Leave this flowing for at least 30 seconds. After flushing, reconnect the hot water line and repeat this process with the cold-water line to ensure all particles have been removed from both supplies. If you need further help with this process, please contact us directly and we can walk you through the procedure. We are available at 800-345-3358 (prompt 2, then 3), Monday through Friday, 8am to 8pm and Saturday, 9am to 6pm CST. Best Regards, Rosanna
