Rated 1 out of 5 by from Looks great but doesn't last We bought this faucet three years ago and after about a year, the magnetic doc stopped working. We just push it back into place now. After two years, we got a slow drip from the faucet itself, and after three years, we are now getting drips from who knows where into the cabinet below. This was professionally installed, so installation was not a problem. I think this is just a cheaper model of their more expensive one, but it doesn't pay to go cheap. Will be looking into the lifetime warranty. Hoping they will honor it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sturdy I was happily surprised at the sturdiness of this faucet. It is more than what picture shows. It is larger than what it looks like in the picture. The pull down hose clicks securely into place and there is a weight on the hose that helps to pull the hose almost into place without help. I am very pleased and excited about my faucet and am enjoying using it. Great purchase.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Three times, you're out! I replaced this faucet three times and am still not happy. It has a sticky handle and it's impossible to regulate hot and cold. It is either scalding or tepid. Every re-installment incurs an installation fee by the plumber. Avoid this faucet!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Challenging Install Faucet arrived in perfect condition. Excellent fit and finish. No scratches, dings, etc. Installation of mounting bracket and nut onto mounting shank using supplied wrench somewhat difficult. Faucet lines make installing and tightening nut on shank a little tedious/challenging. It's a pretty crowded workspace.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Shieldspray sucks This is the second Delta faucet I have purchased in the last month. I bought a Delta Leland faucet 6 years ago when I did a kitchen remodel. That faucet was awesome. The shieldspray is terrible. I won’t buy another faucet ever again with shield spray. The old version was way better.

I have the delta 9178-AR-DST kitchen faucet. It was already installed when i moved in. The faucet base moves too freely and thespout moves completely all the way around. Is this normal? I was not left with the wrench that came with this to tighten any nut

Asked by: George
Hi, George! Thank you for your question. The Delta 9178-AR-DST faucet spout does swivel 360 degrees. The base assembly should not move. We do recommend to seal the escutcheon plate (base assembly) with silicon sealant to the sink or counter to secure this. Best Regards, Rosanna

Regarding handle placement and the meaning of 'front' If I'm standing at the sink, is front closer to me and under the spout? Installing on an island where clearance is not a factor, can the handle be in the back, opposite the sink side?

Asked by: LHLIN
Thank you for your question, LHLIN! The handle placement in "front" would refer to being under the spout and closest to the user. For an installation where clearance does not matter, you can install this model with the handle facing to the back since the spout swivels 360 degrees. Best regards, Edward

Asked by: Melody
Hi, Melody! Thank you for your question. The 9178-AR-DST Arctic Stainless will show water spots. We recommend to wipe clean with a soft towel. If you should need something stronger, we recommend 50% white vinegar and 50% water solution to clean. Best Regards, Rosanna

I see where you have answered the question about the difference between Model 9178 and 9678. What is the difference between those and Model 19978?

Asked by: Kathy61
Hello Kathy 61, Thank you for your question. The Delta Leland Pull-Down 19978-SS-DST faucet is a Home Depot exclusive model and it is similar to the Leland 9178-AR-DST faucet. However, the 9178-AR-DST is designed with the ShieldSpray feature and the 19978-SS-DST model is not. https://media.deltafaucet.com/SpecSheet/DSP-K-19978-SD-DST%20Rev%20C.pdf Best regards, Tanya

We are having a problem with the handle not returning to the full off position. It didn't do this when we first installed it. Now we have to carefully wiggle it back and forth to make sure it is fully off. Is there a way to take apart the main valve?

Asked by: Gayle
Hello, Gayle. Thank you for your question, and I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing a leak from your Delta faucet. We recommend to clean the bottom puck on the valve cartridge assembly and retighten the bonnet nut to stop the leak. To do this, turn the water off at your shut off valve. Remove the handle. Unscrew the bonnet nut counterclockwise. Pull the valve cartridge out and clean the bottom puck on the valve cartridge assembly. Reinstall the valve cartridge assembly and retighten the bonnet by turning clockwise, to the right. Install the handle back on and turn the water back on. Test the faucet. If the faucet still leaks, we recommend to replace both the valve cartridge assembly, RP50587, and the bonnet nut, RP51503. Best Regards, Rosanna
