Rated 4 out of 5 by from Replacement Replaced same model that was 16 years old. Noticed some changes. Water comes out noisier. Replaced braided stainless steel hose with a rubber one. I hope it holds up as well as the previous one. The brushed nickel finish looks almost like stainless steel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from love this faucet I started with the same faucet design in a different finish. Then when getting new countertops, we switched to a stainless steel sink. I was happy to find the same faucet in a finish which paired with my new sink.

what is the purpose of the red plastic slide switch at the top of the valve assembly?

Asked by: jerry
Hi, Jerry! Thank you for your question. The switch on the valve assembly is a handle limit stop. Position 1, to the left, allows full handle motion (the full range between “all cold” to “all hot”). The faucet is set in position 1 in the factory. Position 2, to the right, allows half of the normal handle motion (“all cold” to “mixed hot/cold”). The handle limit stop can be adjusted by the homeowner once the faucet is installed. Setting the handle limit stop in position 2 may help to prevent scalding because it limits the amount of hot water in the mix; however, this handle limit stop will not always prevent scalding because it does not compensate for incoming pressure or sudden water temperature changes. To change positions of the handle limit stop: remove the handle; move the valve stem to the all cold position so the water is on; change the position of the handle limit stop; turn off the water; reinstall the handle. We will have Frigidaire's Gallery series stainless steel appliances in our kitchen. Will Delta's Arctic Stainless or Spotshield Stainless finish match better?

Asked by: agolin
Hi Agolin, Thank you for your question. There is a slight difference between the Delta Faucet SpotShield Stainless Steel finish and the Arctic Stainless finish. The SpotShield Stainless Steel has a spot-resistant neutral, low-gloss finish. The Arctic Stainless has a blue tint to it and more closely matches stainless steel appliances out in the market today. It is only used in the kitchen. Best regards, Tanya

Please give me advantages and disadvantages of the "Touch-Clean" spray holes?

Am I guessing that you can flex a rubber disk with holes in it to knock off water deposits? And is this disk less likely to last as long as a metal aperture plate? And is this disk replaceable by homeowner, or do I have to buy a whole new faucet?
Asked by: RiverCityKen
Dear RiverCityKen, Thank you for your inquiry! The wand assembly of the Delta Leland Pull-Down Kitchen 9178-SP-DST faucet has the Touch-Clean feature. This simply means you can rub your fingers over the nubs of the spray nozzle for cleaning. The design of the product makes removing deposits easier. Best regards, Tanya

What is the difference between arctic stainless and spot clean stainless?

Asked by: MB2013
Hi, MB2013! Thank you for your question. Arctic Stainless is a brushed finish like Stainless Steel. Over the years, the color of stainless steel used on appliances and sinks has migrated from warmer tones, with more red in the color spectrum, to lighter tones where blue is more predominant. Arctic Stainless features cooler metallic tones, following a trend seen throughout the kitchen. SpotShield Stainless is a spot-resistant, warm, low-gloss finish with warmer tones, similar to brushed nickel. Best Regards, Rosanna

Will the Delta soap dispenser RP44651SP in Spotshield Stainless match exactly in color the Leland kitchen faucets in Spotshield Stainless?

Asked by: Patty
Thank you for your question, Patty! The PVD process we use in the manufacturing of many of our finished products adds the color to our faucets while also providing superior abrasion resistance. We attempt to minimize variations in color by utilizing certain control methods; however, differences in sizes, shapes and materials of individual faucet parts can occasionally produce slight variations in color that are rarely noticeable to the human eye in certain lighting, despite the controls we have in place. can you shut off with handle in any position with leland 9178-SP-DST?

Asked by: Janice
Thank you for your inquiry, Janice! Thank you for your question. We recommend installing the Delta Leland Pull-Down Kitchen 9178-SP-DST faucet with the handle on the right. You may install it with the handle on the front or left side, but the temperature adjustment will be opposite of the standard operation for single handle faucets. You can compensate for this by swapping the hot and cold supply lines under the sink. However, the red/blue button will no longer indicate the correct temperature. Best regards, Tanya

The spec indicates a min clearance of 2.5 inches from center of hole for faucet to backsplash. I only have 2 inches.  Why is 2.5 inches needed since the handle goes forward and not back? Will 2 inches work?

Asked by: Bridget
Thank you for your question, Bridget! The minimum clearance to the back splash is typically suggested for lavatory models with lift rods or for models where the handle does reach backwards. This is still suggested for maximum comfort and ease of use with the handle; however this model can still work with only 2". Best regards, Edward

fawcet is leaking do you have repair kit

Asked by: tttt
Hi, tttt! Thank you for your question, and I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing a leak from your Delta faucet. There is a bonnet nut that is holding the cartridge down, underneath your handle. We recommend to tighten the bonnet nut to stop the leak. To do this, turn the water off at your shut off valve. Remove the handle. Pull the cartridge out to clean the bottom puck of the cartridge. Reinstall the cartridge assembly. Tighten the bonnet by turning clockwise, to the right. Install the handle back on and turn the water back on. Test the faucet. If the faucet still leaks, we recommend to replace both the valve cartridge assembly, RP50587, and the bonnet nut, RP51503. Asked by: Cathy
Thank you for your question, Cathy! This Leland model included a cashe aerator wrench, part number RP50815 that is used to remove this aerator counterclockwise. It is designed to clip onto the Pex supply line below the counter but a pair of needle nose pliers may be carefully used in its place.
