Rated 1 out of 5 by from damaged cartridge Had sink and faucet installed by plumber. Faucet had to hit a certain spot when turned off or would leak. Called Delta and they said it is a defective cartridge and they would send me a new one. I do not feel I should bear the expense of installing the cartridge as they sold a defective product and this was bad since it was installed.

Only recently, the faucet started leaking but since the faucet (9178-AR-DST) has lifetime parts replacement I know I can get the replacement parts at no ($0) additional cost #EASYfix

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Leaks after 2 years, continual replacement This was installed by our builder 6 years ago. I’ve had to replace the valve cartridge 6 times in 6 years, because it leaks. Delta gives us free replacement cartridges, which is helpful, but now the Allen nut that attaches the handle to the valve is jammed, so I can’t replace it anymore. It’s a plastic valve cartridge that wears out very quickly, and clearly a known issue for Delta, since they’ve sent me 5 replacement cartridges over the years.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy install, great magnetic docking. Have owned the Leland kitchen faucet for 3 years. It matches all the Leland faucets in my bathrooms. Could only cut off water from cold side. When cut off from middle or hot it would leak. Lived with it for 3 years and finally solved last week by replacing cartridge. Delta recommended flushing supply lines but my plumber felt cartridge would solve problem and it did. Sorry I waited so long to get it repaired. Delta has always provided great customer service and free replacement parts for all faucets and shower valves over the 16 years I have owned my home. I highly recommend Delta products.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Faulty Design It is very difficult to get this faucet in the exact position where it doesn't drip. There are many reviews saying the same, and I am frankly baffled that there are so many 5 star reviews as well. Delta's response is to engage in a lengthy process to flush out the hot and cold lines. I had this faucet for about 9 months and finally threw it out. The faucet I replaced it with requires no such flushing and easily turns off without drips. In my opinion this faucet design is defective and should not be sold.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nice looking faucet, but problems I have owned this faucet for about a year, and while it looks nice and seems to operate just fine, it is extremely difficult to get it in the off position where it will not drip. It has a tiny little spot where it doesn’t drip. We have weekend guests at our house and they commented how difficult it is to turn off the kitchen faucet without it dripping. I have thought for a long time about replacing it and their comment spurred me on to just ditch the thing. Life is too short to live with that faucet.

There is a piece of black plastic in the lever assembly with four tabs that hold the cylindrical trim on the lever snug to the counter, These tabs break easily. The plastic piece cannot be replaced without buying the entire expensive metal trim. Bad design. It costs upwards of $60 to replace the assembly just to fix a 10 cent piece of plastic. Delta does give the option of buying the cheap plastic insert.

Q&A

I plan to replace my kitchen faucet with the Leland 9178-AR-DST. The 9178 spec sheet indicates that the temperature handle movement is from centerline of the body away from the sink. The Q&A seems to contradict this. Please clarify?

Hello TomA1, Thank you for your question. The handle of the Delta Leland Pull-down Kitchen 9178-AR-DST faucet operates by moving/pushing it away/outwards from the faucet to turn on the cold water. Rotating the handle towards the back to adjust for warm and hot water. Best regards, Tanya

We have Frigidaire's Gallery series stainless steel appliances in our kitchen (Like this: https://www.frigidaire.com/Kitchen-Appliances/Refrigerators/French-Door-Refrigerator/FGHB2868TF/). Will the Arctic Stainless or Spotshield Stainless match better?

Over the years, the color of stainless steel used on appliances and sinks has migrated from warmer tones, with more red in the color spectrum, to lighter tones where blue is more predominant. Arctic Stainless features cooler metallic tones, following a trend seen throughout the kitchen. Stainless Steel is has warmer tones, similar to brushed nickel. Best Regards, Rosanna

Hi. A new water meter was just installed at my home and I've lost prssure in my kitchen faucet. The City said I need to remove the aerator and rinse it, but I can't see how to remove that. The pressure is low on all three of the settings. Can you help me?

I have questions about the Delta Leland kitchen faucet. First, what is the difference between arctic stainless and spot shield stainless? Which one is more likely to match the color of a basic stainless sink?  Does the handle move forward and backward?
