Rated 3 out of 5 by from The Love doesn't last We love the touch feature, we live by it, and find ourselves tapping sinks everywhere we go that is not our kitchen. But, our faucet is 4 years now, and we had to essentially argue to get a replacement solenoid by year 3, and after another year it has gone out again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from What junk! The only reason this faucet got 1 star is because 0 stars wasn't available. I am so disappointed, angry, and frustrated with this faucet. I cook a lot and I was so excited to have this "touch on" feature. I have spent far more money on plumbers bills to fix this faucet (multiple times) than its purchase price. I had this installed about 5 years ago. First, about two years in, I had water leaking from the handle. To Delta's credit, they sent me a replacement part free of charge, but the bill for the plumber was on me. Shortly after that the light that senses water temperature failed. I bought a new solenoid (a nearly $200 part) and paid the plumber's bill to replace it. Unfortunately, that did not solve the light issue -- the sensing for cold water worked, but the red light never worked again. I decided to ignore the temperature sensing malfunction since the faucet worked without it. Now, another two years down the road, the solenoid has failed again -- the "touch on" feature, which was the only reason I bought this faucet, no longer works. I could've paid a whole lot less for a conventional faucet, but the "touch on" feature was important to me. Something else to note: with the touch feature not working, regular use of the handle every day, all day, loosens the screw in the handle which makes the handle loose and flop around. The handle screw needs to be tightened weekly. TLDR: Save money and aggravation and buy another faucet.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointing at every turn I took comfort in the Delta name and lifetime warranty 9 years ago when I purchased my very first fancy touch faucet. About 6 months ago, while cleaning, it started its decline and ultimately became inoperable. Delta sent 2 sets of parts but the more I tinkered with the worse it got. Finally I received a new unit which was supposed to be an upgrade. Definitely not. A contractor installed last night and the touch worked perfectly. Today we’ve had to touch it up to 4 times to turn the unit on. The sprayer is weird and does not give a normal spray. Who wants 2 side sprays? The splashless option is pretty useless. The faucet doesn’t pull out smoothly like my previous unit but maybe that will wear down over time. The “upgraded” version style isn’t as modern looking with its handle as my previous version. So I am disappointed but after having no working faucet for 7 days I was grateful to be able to cook and clean the kitchen again. The faucet continues to leak. The plumber will return to replace the cartridge to determine if this is the problem. Disappointed for such a good brand and quality faucet

However this joint effort was not successful so Delta shipped me a new faucet assembly without charge to replace our 5 year old faucet and I received it in 2 days. I could not have asked for a better experience and I don’t get to say that often. Delta has a lifetime customer with me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the features. With a touch the water comes on and with a long hold the water either stays on (if was already on) or if just moving the faucet, the water will stay off. No surprise burst of water on the arm (like other manufacturers have). I also really like the light on the bottom of the faucet to in dictate if the water is cold, warm or hot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! Absolutely love this faucet. We've had it for about six years now, and I can't imagine life without this touch-sensitive faucet. The only complaint we have is that it will occasionally turn on (phantom) by itself--perhaps temperature changes cause this? However it will shut off if left on for more than about a minute. This is a rare occurrence, but does happen from time to time. Otherwise it's phenomenal and has held up. It's a little inconvenient to have to change the batteries under the sink, but they seem to last about a year or so each time.

The day arrived for the counter installation and sink was installed with no issues. Next day was the faucet. After watching the installation video, took me 30 minutes (with able assistance from my wife) and everything was done. No leaks, no issues…..

We contacted Delta by phone to let them know about the rusty build up we were experiencing. The customer service rep was extremely helpful in explaining why this was happening. They were quick to take care of the issue within that same phone call and sent out the parts we needed. We have always trusted Delta products and appreciate their impressive customer service!

The faucet is obviously designed to be installed in a wet location, so I am surprised that there are parts of the faucet which corrode with normal use. So, the faucet currently hangs down and can not retract because the magnet is gone. The touch on/off feature works great though.

It stays clean and their are no water spots on it. I hate to say this but I think it was worth the price I paid for it.

But the star of the show for me is Touch Activation. Tap on/tap off. Distinguished between tap and grab. This is my first faucet with this feature. I'll never buy another without it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Works, but I have total buyers remorse After moving into a home, it was decided that we would replace the kitchen faucet. Thinking it would be a good idea to have something you could touch to turn on and off. After having some power outages this past winter, we found out that the solenoid doesn't work unless there is power in the faucet, so I had to find batteries to put into the battery holder to get the faucet to work. There is also a timer that shuts the faucet off after some time. Which is incredibly frustrating if you are filling a big pot with water, or washing a lot of dishes. I really wish we had purchased this model with out the touch feature, as its more frustrating than having to move the handle to turn the water on and off. If there was a way to eliminate the timer, I might be more happy, and if there was a way to put this into a "manual" mode, I would be even happier with power failures.

Will the faucet still work if the owner goes out?? We have ours hard-wired and don&rsquo;t use the battery pack.&nbsp;

Hello Jill, Thank you for your question. The Delta Leland Touch2O Kitchen 9178T-SP-DST faucet is designed to only activate when touched. We recommend to turn the handle to the off position if leaving on vacation or for an extended period of time, but you can leave it on/open for day-to-day use. Best regards, Tanya

The touch on works with battery but it won't work with A.C. power supply. Why?

We recently installed this faucet in a condominium. When the neighbors use their cold faucets, hot water crosses through our clients 9178T-SP-DST and hot water comes out the neighbors faucets.

How do I dis-assemble the spray head?

Hi, Tom1! Thank you for your question. The Delta 9178T-SP-DST Faucet sprayer assembly can be dis assembled by first unscrewing the sprayer from the hose assembly at the connection. The aerator assembly at the face of the sprayer can be unscrewed with the RP50815 Aerator Wrench. I have 15 1/4&quot; from my counter to a a shelf above my sink. Is there a pipe attached to the faucet making it impossible to fit the faucet in the counter opening?
