Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love everything but the touchless feature! My husband and his both love the faucet but the touchless on/off faucet is too sensitive and we are going to disable it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Faucet dead when batteries die Could not believe my faucet would not work when batteries died!! I have wanted a touch to activate faucet for so long (I hate trying to turn on the faucet when I have raw meat on my hands). I was so excited after installing this, which, by the way, was pretty easy. Then to have it not work after only 2 months because the batteries died!! During my husband's birthday party! I was scrambling g to find more AA's wherever I could find them, and after only a month I cannot use my sink AGAIN. I am going to try the C batteries and fingers crossed it will last more than 2 months. I will repost if it does work, Delta needs to make this known

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Touch on/off system does not work properly When we received this faucet, the box was slightly damage on one corner. When I opened the box, there was a million very little metal balls loose in the box. In fact, the hose weight (plastic) was broken and half the balls were in the box. I had to use the metal, solid weight of the existing faucet I was replacing. The installation was really easy. The instructions are very clear and the provided wrench is very useful when you are under sink in a tight location. The pressure is good. The 3-function wand is nice and the magnet to keep it in place works well. The adjustment of the water temperature is not very progressive and it can be hard to find the right temperature between hot and cold. Now, here is the bad part that justifies the only one-star rating. This faucet has a mind of its own! The touch on/off function just does not work properly. The faucet goes on and off by itself without touching anything (i did not buy the touchless version). Only the non-rotating base of the faucet seems to turn on and off the faucet. A touch anywhere else (handle or spout) does not have any effect. The faucet can be on for 20 seconds then stop by itself for 3 seconds then turn on again for ten seconds then off a minute and turn on again (this is an example but it's all random). Also when pulling the wand down more than 3-4 inches, the faucet randomly turns off and then turns back on as soon as the wand moves upward. This is so ridiculous that I have disconnected the electrovalve and use it as a standard faucet. The problem is that I paid a high price for a faucet that does not do what it is supposed to. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Delta hands free faucet just installed unit today and works great. Hand free operation is superior and very convenient. I would recommend this to any homeowner or contractor.
Date published: 2025-02-18
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Correct Installation is important. It looks good and works well, once we got the installation tweaked. It kept stopping the first few days and the plumber had to return to adjust something under the sink.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Touch faucet can be a problem I bought this "touch" faucet, but you cannot just turn it on. You must touch it for it to come to life. So what happens when the battery for the solenoid is dead: it will not turn on, If you are using the adaptor plug and power goes out, I believe it will not turn on. That's what the people at Delta told me.

I have a Leland TouchH2o purchased 3 years ago and it has started to leak in touch mode after I touch to turn it off. If I push the handle to stop the water flow, the leak stops. How can I fix this to work again in touch mode?

After installing my new faucet the hot water is not very hot.

Asked by: tom g
Hello tom g, Thank you for contacting us. I apologize for the low hot flow you are experiencing with your Delta faucet and I am happy to help you. Reduced flow is typically caused by debris. If only one side is affected, there is debris in the supply line. To flush the supply line, first shut off the hot and cold water supply. Remove the hot supply line from the shut-off valve and place the line into a bucket. Open the handle to the middle position, fully open, then turn the cold supply back on for one minute. The cold water should flow through the faucet and out the hot supply tube. Reconnect the supply line and turn on both supplies. Check flow from the faucet. If this does not help, please let us know. Please contact us back with any further questions. Best Regards, Skyler

I have a 9178T-RB-DST Touch with a power adapter. It has been installed for a couple years and has run fine. Recently it started being slow to shut the flow of water off, going from almost instantly to approximately a second. I've replaced the batteries.

Asked by: Andy
Hi Andy, Thanks so much for contacting Delta Faucet Company! Resetting the solenoid could resolve this issue with your LELAND® Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet MODEL#: 9178T-DST. To reset the solenoid, remove the lid to the battery box and the black LED wire from the side of the solenoid (and unplug the AC adapter from the solenoid, if you have that optional accessory). Let it sit for at least 2 minutes. Reattach the lid to the battery box and plug the LED wire back into the solenoid (you should hear or feel it click when it is fully inserted). If the issue persists, please clean/flush the solenoid. To clean the filter basket/screen, please turn the handle to the off position. You will need a paper towel or two. Disconnect the clip from the top hose going into the solenoid. Look into the top solenoid valve you should see a white/blue debris screen or basket. It should simply unscrew or, depending on the model, you may need to take a pair of needle-nose pliers (or tweezers) and pull the small debris basket/screen out. Clean the debris screen by rinsing it. If the screen does not remove easily, use a swab with white vinegar and water to wipe the screen clean of any debris. Place the basket/screen back into the solenoid and reinsert the top tube into the solenoid, making sure the clip is securing the hose (tube) to the solenoid. Please reach out with further questions! Asked by: Scooter13
Hi Scooter13, Thank you for contacting Delta Faucet Company! Please accept our sincere apology for the inconvenience you are experiencing. Here is what we can do to resolve your issue for you. There are a couple of common adjustments that can be made to improve the operation of our Delta Faucet Leland® Single Handle Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet With Touch2O® And ShieldSpray® Technologies In Arctic Stainless MODEL#: 9178T-AR-DST. Please make sure any wires are isolated from the solenoid box, the water supply lines, and anything else that might conduct electricity. If space is limited, we recommend a minimum of two inches of clearance, if possible. We also recommend placing the battery pack flat on the floor or as close to the ground at your feet as possible. The battery pack should have at least 2 inches of clearance from the walls or anything that can conduct electricity below the counter, as the pack is also touch-sensitive. Thank you for being a loyal Delta Faucet customer. We appreciate your business and look forward to continuing to serve you. Please contact us back with any further questions. Best Regards, Nicole

The faucet automatically shuts off if it hasn't been touched in 4 minutes. Is there a way to override this feature? (I like to keep my faucet dripping slowly during especially cold/freezing weather.)

Asked by: kmote
Hi kmote, Thank you for your question about this Touch2O faucet! The faucet can be used manually so that it will not turn off automatically and can be left to drip. One way is to disconnect the battery cap while the water is flowing. The solenoid valve will then stay open and the faucet can be used manually. Or, using a bucket to catch excess water and with the handle closed, disconnect the hoses above and below the solenoid and then clip the hoses together. Check that the clip is over the shoulders of the hose connection and pull down to ensure the connection is secure. I notice that the delta models that have a ball like handle, Overland/Leland, control hot water by pushing the handle back while the L shaped handles, Dominic/Charmaine, control hot water by pushing the handle forward. Is this by design or am I mistaken?

Specs for Leland 9178T faucet show minimum 2 1/2" clearance to back splash from center of faucet. My clearance is only 1 1/2" from center of faucet, but back splash stops 4" above sink. Will I have room to turn the handle without hitting back splash?

Hello DWGIL, Thank you for your question, I would be happy to help you. The handle on model 9178T-SP-DST rotates towards the back splash, and unfortunately if the back splash clearance is less then 2 1/2" min then yes the handle would hit. Please contact us back for any further questions or concerns. Best Regards, Nicole

This is the second Leland oil-rubbed kitchen faucet w/Touch Technology that has decided to not come on or come on when "It" wants after 2 years of normal "2 person home" use. I would like to know Delta stands behind their product. My options?
