Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love everything but the touchless feature! My husband and his both love the faucet but the touchless on/off faucet is too sensitive and we are going to disable it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Faucet dead when batteries die Could not believe my faucet would not work when batteries died!! I have wanted a touch to activate faucet for so long (I hate trying to turn on the faucet when I have raw meat on my hands). I was so excited after installing this, which, by the way, was pretty easy. Then to have it not work after only 2 months because the batteries died!! During my husband's birthday party! I was scrambling g to find more AA's wherever I could find them, and after only a month I cannot use my sink AGAIN. I am going to try the C batteries and fingers crossed it will last more than 2 months. I will repost if it does work, Delta needs to make this known

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Low water flow I like the features and the style but I am dissapointed in the low water flow that showed up just 2 1/2 months after an install by a professional plumber. Your help is welcomed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Touch on/off system does not work properly When we received this faucet, the box was slightly damage on one corner. When I opened the box, there was a million very little metal balls loose in the box. In fact, the hose weight (plastic) was broken and half the balls were in the box. I had to use the metal, solid weight of the existing faucet I was replacing. The installation was really easy. The instructions are very clear and the provided wrench is very useful when you are under sink in a tight location. The pressure is good. The 3-function wand is nice and the magnet to keep it in place works well. The adjustment of the water temperature is not very progressive and it can be hard to find the right temperature between hot and cold. Now, here is the bad part that justifies the only one-star rating. This faucet has a mind of its own! The touch on/off function just does not work properly. The faucet goes on and off by itself without touching anything (i did not buy the touchless version). Only the non-rotating base of the faucet seems to turn on and off the faucet. A touch anywhere else (handle or spout) does not have any effect. The faucet can be on for 20 seconds then stop by itself for 3 seconds then turn on again for ten seconds then off a minute and turn on again (this is an example but it's all random). Also when pulling the wand down more than 3-4 inches, the faucet randomly turns off and then turns back on as soon as the wand moves upward. This is so ridiculous that I have disconnected the electrovalve and use it as a standard faucet. The problem is that I paid a high price for a faucet that does not do what it is supposed to. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Delta hands free faucet just installed unit today and works great. Hand free operation is superior and very convenient. I would recommend this to any homeowner or contractor.
Date published: 2025-02-18
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Correct Installation is important. It looks good and works well, once we got the installation tweaked. It kept stopping the first few days and the plumber had to return to adjust something under the sink.
Date published: 2024-09-26
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Touch faucet can be a problem I bought this "touch" faucet, but you cannot just turn it on. You must touch it for it to come to life. So what happens when the battery for the solenoid is dead: it will not turn on, If you are using the adaptor plug and power goes out, I believe it will not turn on. That's what the people at Delta told me.

If there is a problem with the touch2O, could I still use it manually?

Asked by: Anna
Hello Anna, Thank you for your question! We apologize for the inconveniences you are experiencing with the Delta Faucet Leland® Single Handle Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet With Touch2O® And ShieldSpray® Technologies In Spotshield Stainless MODEL#: 9178T-SP-DST and will be happy to help you. This can most likely be resolved by adjusting the installation below the sink. Please make sure that no wires are touching metal objects or other wires. Next, unplug the black LED wire and push it back in firmly until it clicks. Please reset the solenoid by removing the cap from the battery box for one minute and reconnecting it. Be sure to use a new set of brand name, non-rechargeable batteries, and install them as indicated on the box. Please also ensure that the battery box is placed on the floor of the cabinet, 2 inches from the sides or metal objects. To switch the faucet to a manual mode, turn the faucet on so that water is running and then remove the cap from the battery box. Thank you for being a loyal Delta Faucet customer. We look forward to continuing to serve you. Please feel free to contact us back for further assistance. Best Regards, Kelley

My faucet occasionally will not turn on via touch. Is this a battery problem? How do I change the batteries? In your manual, Image 9 does not clearly show where the battery pack is located or how to access it.

Asked by: Anonymous
Hello Zoe, Thank you for your question. We are happy to help! The battery pack is located under the sink. It should be placed flat on the floor, at least two inches from the walls. To replace the batteries, push in on the clips that hold the cap on the battery box. The batteries can be replaced with 6 AA or 6 C batteries. Please reach out directly at customerservice@deltafaucet.com or 1-800-345-DELTA if you have any questions or need additional assistance. Best regards, Bryan

Is there a flow restriction that can be removed from the Delta 9178T-SP-DST Kitchen faucet? We have very low water pressure and the flow is to slow compared to our old faucet

Asked by: Bobby
Hi Bobby, Thanks for your question regarding 9178T-SP-DST! No, this model has a maximum flow rate of 1.8 GPM at 60 psi. We do not recommend removing or modifying the flow restrictor as this will void the warranty and may cause it to no longer comply with state or federal plumbing codes. Can I extend the run time beyond 4 minutes before auto shut off? Is there a way to by-pass the solenoid to use faucet in manual operation?

Asked by: AMiller
Hello AMiller, Thank you for your question, I would be happy to help you. Unfortunately the 4 minute timer can not be adjusted longer, please see below for steps to make it non touch(manual): With the faucet running water, disconnect the battery pack by opening it. Or if you have an open battery tray, remove the batteries. You now have a manually operated faucet. The solenoid was open allowing water to flow through and is now stuck open because you removed the power it would use to close. Reconnecting the battery would close the solenoid and make it electronic again. Please contact us back for any further questions or concerns. Best Regards, Nicole

Very low water flow. Have replaced the batteries and cleaned out faucet screen. Please advise

Asked by: Christine
Hi Christine, Thanks so much for contacting Delta Faucet Company! It is possible that a flush could resolve this issue with the LELAND® Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet MODEL#: 9178T-DST. To flush the supply line, first shut off the hot and cold-water supply. Remove the hot supply line from the shut-off valve and place the line into a bucket. Open the handle to the fully open middle position, and then turn the cold supply back on for one minute. The cold water should flow through the faucet and out the hot supply tube. Reconnect the supply line and repeat with the second line. If this does not help, please let us know. Please reach out with further questions! Best Regards, Kelley Digital Communications Specialist

How do you manual bypass the electronics?

Asked by: Don5
Hi Don5, thank you for your interest in the 9178T-SP-DST! For Kitchen Touch2O® faucets, there are a few ways to make them manual. 1. If you can get the water to flow, then the most universal option can be used. It does not matter which model or version for this method (excluding Pascal & flow). With the faucet running water, disconnect the battery pack by opening it. Or if you have an open battery tray, remove the batteries. You now have a manually operated faucet. The solenoid was open allowing water to flow through and is now stuck open because you removed the power it would use to close. Reconnecting the battery would close the solenoid and make it electronic again. Or 2. If the faucet is a later generation, the solenoid assembly may be removed, and the wand hose connected directly to the valve outlet tube. a. Open the battery holder cap. b. Disconnect the sensor hook(s) from the spout and/or valve shank. c. Remove the hose clip and hose from the solenoid. d. Remove the solenoid from the valve outlet tube by removing the clip or swinging the clip open. e. Reconnect the hose with the hose clip to the spout outlet nipple. Note: If the solenoid uses RP60520 adapter to connect to the valve outlet, for example, the early Trinsic®, Addison™, and Ashton® … the pullout hose can be connected directly to the valve outlet nipple, not the adapter. a. Open the battery holder cap. b. Disconnect the sensor hook(s) from the spout and/or valve shank. c. Remove the hose clip and hose. d. Remove the metal solenoid clip and solenoid. e. Remove the adapter from the valve outlet tube. The adapter must also be removed to reveal the valve outlet nipple. The hose cannot connect to the adapter. f. Reconnect the hose with the hose clip to the valve outlet nipple. The faucet is now a manually operated pullout or pulldown. Or 3. If the solenoid Generation 1 or 2, and operational enough, we can directly energize it open. This is the least preferred method. These directions are in the packaged instructions, using the battery pack to reverse the power to the solenoid momentarily. Please contact us directly if you have any questions or need additional assistance. Best Regards, Themar Digital Communications Specialist

I just purchased this faucet and had it professionally installed by a plumber. There is a small dripping leak at the handle. What can I do to fix this?

Asked by: Leak at the handle
Hello Leak at the handle, Thank you for contacting Delta Faucet Company! I am sorry this information was not readily available, and I am happy to help you! Our Delta Faucet LELAND® Single Handle Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet With Touch2O® And ShieldSpray® Technologies MODEL#: 9178T-RB-DST leak when off you are experiencing appears to be caused by debris within the solenoid assembly. We recommend doing a flush on your electronic components. Please follow the below steps to resolve your drip: 1. Put the handle in the off position. 2. Remove the blue clip that is attached to the top of the solenoid assembly below the sink. 3. Pull the solenoid off of the faucet connection. Remove the debris screen in the top connection if able and clear any debris with tweezers or a q-tip. 4. Set a bucket under the pex supply line that is exposed. 5. Place the handle in the on position and allow it to run water for 2 full minutes. This will clear the supply line out of any debris. 6. Put the handle back into the off position. 7. Reconnect the solenoid to the faucet and clip it back into place. 8. Now remove the bottom clip from the solenoid where the hose connects and pull the hose off. 9. Turn the water back on for an additional 2 minutes to clear the solenoid assembly of any remaining debris. 10. Reconnect the hose and clip it into place again. Once that is finished, turn the water on to the faucet and run it for 15 seconds. Thank you for being a loyal Delta customer. Please contact us back for any further questions. Best Regards, Nicole
