Rated 2 out of 5 by from Ok for a while, but doesn't last Started out ok, but over time it didn't age well. The cartridge needs replaced repeatedly and only lasts maybe a year before it starts leaking again. The finish (as you can see in the photos) didn't last at all on the venetian bronze finish. The connection to the pull down sprayer is rusting.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Leaks after 2 years, continual replacement This was installed by our builder 6 years ago. I’ve had to replace the valve cartridge 6 times in 6 years, because it leaks. Delta gives us free replacement cartridges, which is helpful, but now the Allen nut that attaches the handle to the valve is jammed, so I can’t replace it anymore. It’s a plastic valve cartridge that wears out very quickly, and clearly a known issue for Delta, since they’ve sent me 5 replacement cartridges over the years.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not old school Delta Works well but every 2 years you get to write them a request a new valve cartridge. Maybe not a big deal to some but after a while you wish they would use less plastic in these internal parts. Finish is holding up well

The "sleeve assembly" for the handle includes an incredibly cheap/weak plastic piece that breaks easily and results in non-ability to properly secure the assembly to the countertop. Check reviews for RP51481 and see for yourself. 2. Plan on going through multiple cartridges. Again, check on reviews of RP50587.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dripping and Noisy Less Than 6 Months After Install Our homebuilder uses this as their standard kitchen faucet. Just 6 months after we moved into our new home this faucet is dripping and the handle makes noise. Before that the hot/cold water decal fell off the handle and will not stay on. No, we do NOT recommend this faucet. We’ve owned many Delta faucets before and had better longevity w/o the need for repairs or replacement.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor instructions...still mopping up Sprayer connection is flimsy. No positive lock. Has a cripple bracket that pops on exterior to hold it together. It has popped off twice soaking my cabinet. Poor design. Tempted to put the original faucet back on. Directions are the worst.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from leaks I have a new house and the fauset work fine for a year,now water keeps running after I shut it off,then when I use the spray and go bact to normal flow, it flows and drips at same time. this fauset is only about 3 years old. I also replace the fauset head washer a couple of times and still leaks . this is my 10th home and I never had problem with a fauset this old

Hi, Can this model be used on a 2 hole D shaped kitchen sink?

What is the difference between the 978-RB-DST, the 9978-RB-DST and the 978-RBWE-DST faucets? Also, can you get this type faucet with the 2.2 GPM wand?

Thank you for your questions. Delta Faucet model # 978-RB-DST is a kitchen faucet that flows at 1.8 gpm at 60 psi. Delta Faucet model # 978-RBWE-DST is the same kitchen faucet as above but it flows at 1.5 gpm at 60 psi. Lastly, Delta Faucet model # 9978-RB-DST is the same faucet as the other two but in a smaller version for a bar/prep faucet. It flows at 1.8 gpm at 60 psi. We do not make a version of this faucet that will flow at 2.2 gpm at 60 psi.

Does this have to be mounted 4" apart or is 5 or 6" possible?

Dear Mary, Thank you for your question. The Delta Leland Kitchen faucet 978-WE-DST model has the 4" installation requirement for the outstanding reach of the 59" hose assembly. Installing the the handle and faucet 5" or 6" apart would effect the reach of the hose assembly. Best regards, Tanya

Does this faucet have any lead in it?
