Replacement
Replaced same model that was 16 years old. Noticed some changes. Water comes out noisier. Replaced braided stainless steel hose with a rubber one. I hope it holds up as well as the previous one. The brushed nickel finish looks almost like stainless steel.

Worked well for a while, but didn't last
I've owned this faucet for 13 years and at first it worked well. Magnetic docking of pull-down spray is a nice feature, but the magnet has rusted over time. The valves don't last very long. I've probably installed 4 or 5 valve body's in this. It fails the same way every time, when it starts leaking when in the down/off position. You have to rotate the handle in a circle left or right to get it find the sweet spot where it actually shuts off. The finish on both the handle and the top of the spout is basically gone. It didn't last more than 5 years in daily use. At this point I'm sick of replacing valves and will likely replace the entire faucet, unless Delta will "warranty" it.

faucet handle spins all the way around
I attempted to adjust this faucet handle as it was causing the faucet to leak somewhat. when i removed the set screw holding the faucet on and then retightened the scew the faucet handle now feels loose and spins 360 degrees. im looking to get this repaired but im not sure if i need a new handle or if it is the cartridge the handle goes onto that needs to be replaced.
Hi jasimek, Thank you for your question. It sounds like either the set screw is not tight enough, or the screw is not in contact with the stem portion of the dst cartridge. Make sure the cartridge is seated properly, and that the bonnet and sleeve assembly are tightened correctly. The handle set screw should attach to the cartridge stem on the flat portion of the stem preventing the handle from spinning. Thank you for your question, Cliff! The Delta Leland Pull-Down 978-RB-DST is a kitchen faucet that flows at 1.8 GPM at 60 PSI. The Delta Leland Pull-Down 978-RBWE-DST is the same kitchen faucet as above but it flows at 1.5 GPM at 60 PSI. This the faucets only difference.

I have a Delta 978-DST kitchen faucet and the handle is getting worn out. I don't have the small allen wrench it appears I would need to replace the worn parts in the handle. Do you have this tool?

Thank you for your question. On the lever handle, of your Delta Leland Pull-Down Kitchen 978-DST model, you should find a small hex screw that can be loosened with a 1/8" Allen wrench. the bonnet nut on my 978-ss-dst does not remove easily as the videos say. what can I do to remove it.

Thank you for your question. The bonnet nut for the Delta 978-SS-DST faucet can be removed by a pair of adjustable pliers and a strap wrench for easier removal. If there is significant mineral buildup, a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water can be applied to help break up any deposits inside the bonnet nut.

what is difference between 9978 model and 978 model?
I need the Leland single hand pull down faucet (2 holes) in the brilliant stainless. I've seen both the 978 model as well as 9978...are these different?

The 9978-DST is a bar/prep faucet generally used in smaller side sinks. As a result, the faucet itself is much smaller than the 978-DST, which is the regular kitchen sink faucet. You can take a look at each faucet's Technical Specifications for further details.

Is it possible to increase GPM?
model: Leland 978-RB-DST
I saw a response about increasing the GPM from 1.8 to 2.2 but the model # in the response could not be found when I searched for it.
The response was RP514780RB, but is it really RP51480RB?
Is replacing that part all that is needed? Is there a need to replace the O ring as well? I want to order a new faucet and will have it professionally installed, so want to be sure i order all the necessary parts.

Thank you for your question. The model number for the 2.2 gpm wand is RP51480RB. You will not need any extra orings to replace this wand. The wands will just need to be switched.

Really 2.5" min clearance to backsplash (4" high)? Want to replace a Moen Aberdeen with your Leland 978-DST. The Moen fits fine with 2" clearance from faucet midpoint to backsplash. Why can't I use 978-DST with same 2" center to backsplash clearance?

what size garden hose aerator adapter should i buy? i need to hook an aquarium garden hose to the faucet head. 13/16 does not fit. its too small.

Thank you for your question. We only offer one aerator adapter, RP51505. This adapter converts 21.5X 1-6 g metric thread to 55/64”-27 standard thread. Your aerator, RP50815 has M21.5 threads, however care should be taken as we have not tested and do not recommend using this adapter with the pullout or pulldown spray wands.

Our 978-ar-dst faucet is over 10 years old. I have replaced the handle cartridge 2 times. However, the sprayer is now leaking. Let me know what the best course of action is.

The magnetic head and spray hose. Is this supposed to retract completely on its own? New installation, everything ok. Hose retracts to plastic spray head. I have to push head into faucet to seal. Thank you.

Does the RP53998 2.2gpm aerator fit this faucet?
An answer for the very similar 9178-RB-DST said "The model 9178-RB-DST comes with an aerator with a flow rate of 1.8 gpm. You can order RP53998 which is a 2.2 gpm aerator to raise the flow rate for this particular model."

Using the sprayer
When using the sprayer is there any side splatter or does the spray pretty much stay confined to the nozzle direction?

Salesperson mentioned a lower water pressure model and the 1.8 which was recommended.
I have very good water pressure. My concern is splashing in 2 bowl sink (7" deep or especially the small 5" deep.
Should I purchase the lower pressure item. Will it last as well?

Thank you for your question. The model Water Efficient (1.5 gpm) version of this faucet is model number 978-WE-DST. Splashing should not be an issue in most instances. However, the 978-WE-DST has a lower water velocity, which helps prevent splashing.

i bought the 978-rb-dst kitchen faucet that lists 2 hole 4". Does that mean the center of the holes should be 4" apart? Are both holes to be drilled at 1 3/8" size?

The specs say that this needs two four inch center holes. Can it be 5 inch centers?
When my granite was installed, the installers put my sprayer and the faucet at 5 inch centers. I really like this Leland faucet for my new faucet.

Can I order an escutcheon to make this fit a 4 hole sink making the faucet cover 3 holes putting the handle in the 4th hole?

You can use this model with two accessories such as a soap/lotion dispenser or hole cover (RP3816, RP52397PC).
