Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't buy this faucet Worst faucet we've ever owned. Bought a house with 5 yr old Vero faucets in two bathrooms. First, the water stream is very weak. Second, we had a leak coming out through the hot water handle. Shut water off, removed set screw, but was unable to remove the handle to get to the (probably) defective cartridge. I tried everything. Called Delta this morning and the Representative walked me through instructions on how to remove the handle, but I warned her the instructions did not seem accurate and could damage the faucet. Sure enough, the turning counterclockwise motion broke something inside the handle assembly and the handle still did not come off. VERY frustrating. Now I have to get a plumber involved to remove the entire faucet and buy another one. Delta was not helpful at all.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from pretty but disappointed Very attractive, but we had to return because the water flows out in 2 streams, 3 streams, even 4 streams and the handles were loose. We ordered a replacement and the handles are fine, but intermittently still having water flow coming out in multiple streams, Expected higher quality at this price point

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Leaking handles after only 5 years in use. I have 2 sinks in our bathroom with these faucets. They look great but started leaking after a few years of use. Started first with the hot water faucet in one sink, then the other sink and then all the handles! Drain plug no longer works either .Customer service is horrible. Want to send me part to replace that I will have to pay a plumber to do, when these faucets are $945 and should last over 20 years! Do not buy these products.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Too expensive. Design doesnt hold up well Looks great new. Have never had a rectangle shaped faucet. This has not held up well. After 7 years of use the stream/flow is very small. All of the other delta faucets in my house are the traditional round and have had now issues. This is too expensive to not last.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor water straightener in faucet spout. Water splashes. Spout has a water straightener that creates splashing outside of sink basin.
Date published: 2024-11-11
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Splashes I thought this was the perfect faucet for our remodel. Sadly the water flow splashes all over the place. I can’t take it getting wet every time i use the sink or using the sink as a trickle if I want to avoid this. I’m hoping the issue is that the spout is not aerated. I’m going to replace with something aerated and see what happens.

I have 3 of these faucets in my house.  One hot water faucet's flow is down to a trickle.  Please advise me on repairing.  Is this a DYI or should I call plumber?

Asked by: Jim27
Hi Jim27, Thank you for contacting Delta Faucet. Please accept our sincere apology for the inconvenience you are experiencing. We will be happy to assist you in resolving this issue as quickly as possible. Our Delta Faucet Delta Vero® Two Handle Widespread Bathroom Faucet In Chrome MODEL#: 3553LF max. flow rate is 1.2 GPM @ 60 psi. It is possible that a flush could resolve this issue. Please follow the following instructions to perform the flush. Please shut water supplies off before starting this process. You will need a 1/8” Allen wrench if you have lever handles, a Philips screwdriver if you have knob handles, a towel, and a bucket. Please remove your handle with the 1/8" Allen wrench if you have a lever or remove the top cap to reveal the Philips screw if you have a knob handle, then pull the handle off of the stem unit. You will now see a bonnet nut, please remove it with your wrench. Please take note of how your stem units are installed in the valve. Please lift straight up to pull the stem units out and If you look into the valve, you should see a seat and spring. Please pull these pieces out before we flush. Next place the towel behind the back of the faucet then put the bucket over the top of the towel. Have someone turn the cold water supply on for about 30 seconds to a minute. After this, shut the cold water off and move the bucket and towel to the hot side flush that out as well. Lastly, remove the stream straightener and soak with a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water for about 15 minutes, and make sure to rinse the stream straightener off with water when completed. Thank you for being a loyal Delta Faucet customer. Please feel free to call, email, or message us on social if you need anything else. Best Regards, Themar Digital Communications Specialist

I need to replace the seat and spring in the handle. However, once I removed the set screw, the handle won’t come off. Any suggestions on how to take it off? Do I use a flat screwdriver to forcibly take it off?

Asked by: Resa13
Hi Resa13, Thank you for contacting Delta Faucet Company! We apologize for the issues you are experiencing and we are happy to help! The handle may need to be soaked with a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water. This will remove any excess build-up keeping the handle in place. Please gather a washcloth, a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water, and a soft toothbrush. Drench the washcloth, wrap it around the handle and set screw area and allow it to soak for a few hours. Use the toothbrush to brush under the handle and around the set screw. We appreciate your inquiry. Please reach out directly if you have further questions! There is a small leak at the handle stem. But I am unable to remove the handle even after removing the holding screw. Tried removing grime with vinegar/soap etc but no luck. Is there a video that shows how to remove the handle for this specific model?

Asked by: Jay Z
Hi Jay Z, Thank you for your question about the Delta Faucet model 3553LF. Unfortunately, we don't have a video of removing the handles. With the set screw loosened, the handle should pull up off of the stem extender. We recommend continuing to soak the area with 50/50 white vinegar and water. If there was a leak, there may be mineral deposits in the handle causing the issue. Please reach out for further assistance or with any additional questions! Is there an aerator on the vero Widespread Faucet made in about 2012. Is there a setscrew that holds the aerator in place? How do you disconnect the mixing hose attachments. They have the black plastic caps with a spring over them? Squeezing not worki

Asked by: RayM
Hi RayM, Thank you for your question about the Delta Faucet model 3553LF. Please accept our apology for the inconvenience you are experiencing. We are happy to help! The stream straightener at the end of the spout can be removed with needle-nosed pliers. Pull slowly to avoid damaging the faucet. I first recommend cleaning the flow restrictor in the hose connection below the sink. Also, soak the end of the spout with a solution of 50/50 white vinegar and water, then rinse, if there are mineral deposits or buildup. To disconnect the hose, pinch together at the base of the black or grey plastic halves, next to the hose. The top halves will spread apart, opening the tabs on the brass connector. It may help to push up on the fitting if the tabs are not releasing. It is best to not disassemble the fitting by removing the brass wire. Please reach out with any additional questions!
