Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't buy this faucet Worst faucet we've ever owned. Bought a house with 5 yr old Vero faucets in two bathrooms. First, the water stream is very weak. Second, we had a leak coming out through the hot water handle. Shut water off, removed set screw, but was unable to remove the handle to get to the (probably) defective cartridge. I tried everything. Called Delta this morning and the Representative walked me through instructions on how to remove the handle, but I warned her the instructions did not seem accurate and could damage the faucet. Sure enough, the turning counterclockwise motion broke something inside the handle assembly and the handle still did not come off. VERY frustrating. Now I have to get a plumber involved to remove the entire faucet and buy another one. Delta was not helpful at all.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from pretty but disappointed Very attractive, but we had to return because the water flows out in 2 streams, 3 streams, even 4 streams and the handles were loose. We ordered a replacement and the handles are fine, but intermittently still having water flow coming out in multiple streams, Expected higher quality at this price point

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Leaking handles after only 5 years in use. I have 2 sinks in our bathroom with these faucets. They look great but started leaking after a few years of use. Started first with the hot water faucet in one sink, then the other sink and then all the handles! Drain plug no longer works either .Customer service is horrible. Want to send me part to replace that I will have to pay a plumber to do, when these faucets are $945 and should last over 20 years! Do not buy these products.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Too expensive. Design doesnt hold up well Looks great new. Have never had a rectangle shaped faucet. This has not held up well. After 7 years of use the stream/flow is very small. All of the other delta faucets in my house are the traditional round and have had now issues. This is too expensive to not last.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor water straightener in faucet spout. Water splashes. Spout has a water straightener that creates splashing outside of sink basin.
Date published: 2024-11-11
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Splashes I thought this was the perfect faucet for our remodel. Sadly the water flow splashes all over the place. I can’t take it getting wet every time i use the sink or using the sink as a trickle if I want to avoid this. I’m hoping the issue is that the spout is not aerated. I’m going to replace with something aerated and see what happens.

Trying to remove the handle - the set screw was completely removed and I rotated the handle in every position possible within the 1/4 turn radius allowed and the handle simply won't budge, even with a lot of force. Is there any other solution? WD-40 help?

Asked by: whitten5
So I was just having this same issue. I had to wiggle the handle a bunch and try to pour WD40 and also white vinegar into the crevices and it eventually budged.

My 3553LF faucet is dripping. The handles are stuck. I have removed the set screws. Tapped gently with a rubber mallet and gently pried up on both handles. Nothing. Stuck tight. Any suggestions?

Asked by: David Stevens
Hi David Stevens, Thanks so much for contacting Delta Faucet Company! The 3553LF handles are removed by unthreading the set screw, then turning the handle towards the spout till the top of the handle comes off. The base would then need to be removed by unsnapping it from the glide ring. See diagram B on page 2 in the link below. https://media.deltafaucet.com/MandI/86410%20Rev%20D.pdf Please contact us directly if you have any questions or need additional assistance. The water flow has lessened over the 4 years I’ve had the faucet. I suspect there might be mineral deposit built up inside the unit.  How can I remove the aerator to clean it?

Asked by: Brent
Hi Brent, Thank you for your question about the Delta Faucet model 3553LF. The stream straightener in the end of the spout is not designed to be easily removed. I first recommend cleaning the flow restrictor in the hose connection below the sink to troubleshoot an issue with the flow. Also, soak the end of the spout with a solution of 50/50 white vinegar and water, then rinse, if there are mineral deposits or buildup. The stream straightener can be removed with needle-nosed pliers. Pull slowly to avoid damaging the part or the faucet. Please reach out with any additional questions! I'm having issues removing one of the levers to swap out the guts inside. I even removed the entire set screw and it still won't budge. Any idea what's holding the lever securely in place? Do you have any solutions for this?

Asked by: whitten5
Hi, I previously asked this question and subsequently tried the instructions in the answer provided without success. The set screw was completely removed and I rotated the handle in every position possible within the 1/4 turn radius allowed and the handle simply won't budge. I've tried to pull it off with quite a bit of force too, but don't want to break it. Is there anything else that can be keeping this handle secure so it won't come off? Do you recommend spraying WD-40 or Liquid Wrench in the cracks? Any other thoughts on this? I've removed several of these handles without any issues before this one. Is there any other solution?

Faucet drips probably need to replace one or both cartridges, how is my question

Asked by: cory
Hi cory, Thank you for your question about the Delta Faucet model 3553LF-RB. Recommended maintenance would be to replace the RP4993 seats and springs below the stem unit. The rubber seat can be damaged or worn over time. To remove the handle, first loosen the set screw with a 3/32" hex wrench, remove the handle from the stem extender, then remove the handle base. With the water supplies turned off, unscrew the bonnet nut to access the stem. My water pressure to the house is about 90psi (measured at my outdoor spigot). Can you tell me what approximate flow rate I should anticipate at the sink faucet?  I assume it will be greater than 1.2gpm, but I am not sure about this.

Asked by: Tiki
Hi Tiki, Thank you for contacting Delta Faucet Company! Please accept our sincere apology for the inconvenience you are experiencing. Here is what we can do to resolve your issue for you. Our Delta Faucet Vero® Two Handle Widespread Bathroom Faucet In Venetian Bronze MODEL#: 3553LF-RB has a max flow rate of 1.2 GPM @ 60 PSI, the flow rate would not increase due to this being the max flow rate this faucet allows. How do you get the aerator out. I understand flow restrictor is located with the aerator. If not where is it located? If you say needle nose pliers ok but what do you grab on too. Directions in manual say turn cc but how do you turn a rectangle.

Asked by: John
Hi John, Thank you for your question about the Delta Faucet model 3553LF-CZ. The flow restrictor is located in the hose connection below the sink. Any debris that could be caught by the aerator should first be caught by the flow restrictor. It's possible to grab the grid of the stream straightener or aerator with pliers, but this can damage the aerator. Pull slowly to avoid damaging the aerator or the faucet. Please reach out with any additional questions! Best Regards, Bryan

While replacing the Valve Assembly the part listed as RP51012 stem extender is frozen into the cold side handle. I soaked it in vinegar to remove the scale & dirt. I also let it sit in penetrating oil & it won't release. How do I extricate the stem?

Asked by: Craig
Hello Craig, Thank you for contacting us! I am happy to help you! To remove the stem extender from the Delta Faucet Two Handle Widespread Bathroom Faucet, model 3553LF-SS, the stem extender needs to be unthreaded from the valve stem.
