Hello dan1236! Thank you for your inquiry! The model 16970-SSSD-DST kitchen faucet turns off when the handle is turned in the off position. There is no automatic docking shut off. The faucets stream and spray functions are controlled by the button on the underside of the spray head and are selected by choice. To flush the unit, we recommend the following: Start with the easy stuff: Remove your aerator, wand or hose to check the flow through the unit without that part installed. If the flow is good, the piece you’ve removed is where the issue is. Soaking the part in a 50/50 mixture of white vinegar and water could help remove any particles or debris blocking the flow. If the water does not have a good flow, the problem could be in the faucet. Next, check the supply lines for debris: Turn the supply off to both the hot and cold-water lines. Once off, turn the handle on the faucet to the on position and leave it there to bleed the lines of any excess water. Next, disconnect the hot water supply line and place it inside of a bucket. Hi Dan M, Thanks so much for contacting Delta Faucet Company! The handle valve on model 16970-SSSD-DST is tightened from the bottom, we would recommend checking the nut it tight with under the counter. If the under part of the counter is too smooth, you could take a piece of sandpaper and place it under the counter to give the nut something rough to tighten against. Thanks for the response, Bryan. The faucet is brand new. Cleaning the spout with white vinegar solution and/or the flow restrictor is unnecessary for a new product. Can the flow restrictor be easily removed
