Q&A

I have the Delta Cassidy kitchen faucet and it is leaking under the sink. Plumber said the faucet needs to be replaced, but I see a lot of questions about under sink leaking so I'm hoping a less expensive fix might work. Please advise

Asked by: leslies
Hi leslies, Thank you for your question about the Delta Faucet model 4197-DST. Please accept our apology for the inconvenience you are experiencing. We are happy to help! A leak under the sink may be caused by the seal on the handle cartridge failing. I recommend replacing the RP60114 cartridge. https://www.deltafaucet.com/parts/product/RP60114.html Please reach out for further assistance or with any additional questions! Best Regards, Bryan

For the past year, I have had to get under the sink to tighten. Now, it won't tighten, the screws do not looked stripped. There was not a RP6704 gasket when it was installed and this gasket is discontinued. Any suggestions to get this to tighten.

Have a Cassidy 4197-DST, does the cartridge assembly (RP60114) ever go bad? I am getting hot water but when vertical for cold I am not getting any water. Shut off below sink wasn't turned off.

Asked by: Roaddog
Hello Roaddog, Thank you for your question! We apologize for the cold water not flowing and I am happy to assist you! Reduced flow is typically caused by debris. If only one side is affected, there is debris in the supply line. To flush the supply line, first shut off the hot and cold water supply. Remove the hot supply line from the shut-off valve and place the line into a bucket. Open the handle to the middle position, fully open, then turn the cold supply back on for one minute. The cold water should flow through the faucet and out the hot supply tube. Reconnect the supply line and turn on both supplies. Check flow from the faucet. If this does not help we recommend soaking the cartridge in a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water. Please contact us back with any further questions. Best Regards, Skyler
