spray hose composition

within 5 years, our current faucet hose deteriorated, possibly chlorine in the city water was the blame. What is the trinsic 9159-dst spray hose made of? What are the supply hoses made of? How long will they last in chlorine water? Too, how much room do I need to operate the on/off lever? How much room do I need between the lever and soap dispenser? thank you
Asked by: anna
Hi Anna, Thank you for your question. The spray hose is made of an ultracore liner. The ultracore liner was developed to be resistance to chlorine and chloramines. The supply tubes are PEX (cross linked Polyethylene) which are also designed to be chlorine and chloramine resistant. Both the hoses and the supply lines are covered under the lifetime warranty for the product. The handle needs 1-1/2" of clearance to the rear and will extend out 4-3/8" to the right of the faucet centers. If you are placing the soap dispenser to the left of the spout 4" centers would be a normal distance. If you are placing the soap dispenser to the right , 6" centers should give you enough space. I have attached a link to the spec sheet for the model 9159-DST below. Thanks, Dave http://www.deltafaucet.com/customersupport/documentation/9159-dst.html?document=ts&fromDetailArea=kitchen&documentIndex=0#flashWrapper

Do you know of a hot water dispenser that would closely match the Champagne Bronze color of this faucet?

Asked by: blopez0487
Hi, Blopez0487! Thank you for your question. We do not offer hot water dispensers. However, we do have a beverage faucet and a bar/prep faucet that will both match the Delta 9159-CZ-DST faucet. The beverage faucet that will match is our Delta 1977-CZ-DST faucet. The Bar/Prep faucet that will match is our 9959-CZ-DST faucet. Hi there! I installed my delta faucet and the water flow both hot and cold water are low, tried with anothe faucet and flow water runs faster, is there some adjustment or something I can do to fix it? Thanks a lot!

Asked by: CH335
Hi, CH335! Thank you for your question. I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing low flow from your faucet. Over time, common water debris will settle in the house supply lines. Anytime the water is shut off to a portion of the home, this debris can become dislodged and will move through the pipes to be caught by a faucet. Local construction or the changing of the seasons can also cause this. Flushing the supply lines through the unit should remedy this situation. To flush the unit, we recommend the following: Start with the easy stuff: Remove your aerator, wand or hose to check the flow through the unit without that part installed. If the flow is good, the piece you’ve removed is where the issue is. Soaking the part in a 50/50 mixture of white vinegar and water could help remove any particles or debris blocking the flow. If the water does not have a good flow, the problem could be in the faucet. Next, check the supply lines for debris: Turn the supply off to both the hot and cold-water lines. Once off, turn the handle on the faucet to the on position and leave it there to bleed the lines of any excess water. Next, disconnect the hot water supply line and place it inside of a bucket. Once the line is securely positioned into the bucket, turn on the cold-water supply. Since the handle was left in the on position, the water will flow up the cold supply line, through the faucet cartridge and back down the hot water line into the bucket. Leave this flowing for at least 30 seconds. After flushing, reconnect the hot water line and repeat this process with the cold-water line to ensure all particles have been removed from both supplies. If you need further help with this process, please contact us directly and we can walk you through the procedure. We are available at 800-345-3358 (prompt 2, then 3), Monday through Friday, 8am to 8pm and Saturday, 9am to 6pm CST. Best Regards, Rosanna

What cleaning products do you use to clean the brush gold finish?

Asked by: Kristin
Hi, Kristen! Thank you for your question. Always blot dry any water from the faucet surface. Allowing water to evaporate on the surface can lead to build up of mineral deposits. Cleaning with a damp non-abrasive sponge and buffing it dry with a clean soft cloth should help keep your product looking beautiful. To remove water spots, use warm water and a soft, damp cloth. Hard water stains may be removed using a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water. Make certain that you rinse the surface thoroughly with water afterward. If additional cleaning is required, all of our finishes may be cleaned with the following household cleaners: Formula 409® Antibacterial All Purpose Cleaner, Fantastik® All Purpose Cleaner, or Windex® Original Glass Cleaner, when used according to the manufacturers' instructions for use. Avoid using the following which can damage your finish: Avoid industrial cleaners and abrasive cleaners, such as those used for toilet bowls, green Scotch-Brite heavy duty scrub sponges, Scrubbing Bubbles Bathroom Cleaner and Lysol Basin Tub, Soft Scrub, and Tile Cleaner. Avoid products that state on the label that they remove tarnish and rust and those containing hydrofluoric, hydrochloric and/or phosphoric acids and caustic agents. Avoid harsh abrasives or polishes. Avoid bleach-based cleaners. Best Regards, Rosanna

I just had this faucet installed, and the spout wobbles slightly relative to the body. Is this normal? Should spout have "play" relative to the body, or should it be firm? Can this be tightened? It detracts from the quality feel of the faucet.

Asked by: Richard
Thank you for your question, Richard! The faucet is secured to the counter below with a mounting bracket that uses two screws and a nut. You will need to make sure these are tightened sufficiently, however please avoiding over tightening these parts. If you are using the optional three hole escutcheon plate, please make sure that this is also secure. If the counter is uneven, a small bead of silicone sealant may be used as well. Is there a particular cleaning product I should use so as not to damage the finish? I have the brass/champagne bronze finish.

Asked by: Becca
Hi there Becca, Thank you for your inquiry! A comprehensive list of cleaners is impossible to recommend because of the variety of materials that are a part of our many models of faucets. What may be fine for a spout may damage a handle. To clean, simply wipe gently with a damp cloth and blot dry with a soft towel. Stubborn hard water spots are best avoided by this daily regime. If extra measure is needed, a solution of 50% white vinegar (never Apple vinegar) could be used by wiping, spraying or soaking. Caution: Vinegar can permanently damage porous rock surfaces such as granite or limestone countertops. Use extreme care if such a surface is in the vicinity. To soak a faucet or part still on a faucet: 1. Mix white vinegar and tap water to a half and half proportion. 2. Put a rag or towel in the solution to soak it up. 3. Wrap the rag or towel around the part. 4. Let sit for up to an hour or so. 5. Use the rag or a clean, soft toothbrush to scrub the remaining hard water buildup. o Avoid harsh abrasives or polish o Avoid bleach-based cleaners o Avoid industrial cleaners and abrasive cleaners, such as those used for toilet bowls, green Scotch-Brite heavy duty scrub sponges, Scrubbing Bubbles Bathroom Cleaner and Lysol Basin Tub, Soft Scrub, and Tile Cleaner. o Avoid products that state on the label that they remove tarnish and rust, and those containing hydrofluoric, hydrochloric and/or phosphoric acids and caustic agents. o Because cleaning formulas can change without notice, Delta Faucet Company does not endorse any specific cleaner. i purchased this model about 2 years ago. roughly 6 months ago the faucet started to make a pounding noise when the hot water is openned up then the hot water will shut off byitself. This is the only faucet in the house that does this.

Asked by: MAQSR
Hi, Thank you for contacting us. We apologize for any inconvenience. We are more than happy to help you. Reduced flow or no flow is typically caused by debris. If only one side is affected, there is debris in the supply line. To flush the supply line, first shut off the hot and cold water supply. Remove the hot supply line from the shut off valve and place the line into a bucket. Open the handle to the middle position, then fully open, then turn the cold supply back on for one minute. The cold water should flow through the faucet and out the hot supply tube. Reconnect the supply line and turn on both supplies. Check flow from the faucet. If this does not help, please let us know. Please contact us at 1-800-345-3358 if you have any further concerns. We are open Monday through Friday 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM central time, and 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Saturday. Best Regards, Bethany
