Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very erratic performance We've had the Touch20 faucet in our kitchen for approximately 1.5 yrs. Since we've had it, our primary problem is a dripping faucet when it is in the off mode. We've already replaced the solenoid once. This past week when we had 30 people for dinner, the faucet just quit working altogether---no hot or cold water would come out. We replaced the batteries and it started working and then stopped again. I replaced the batteries a second time and it still didn't work. We checked all of the batteries to make sure they were good and they were. Needless to say, that many dishes with an unusable faucet was more than frustrating. When the faucet works as it should, it's a great product; but for the most part, it's just a hassle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product overall Have had the Trinsic with touch for almost 6 years, and have had to replace the solenoid once about 2 years ago I think. Not a terribly technical repair, clear out the undersink cabinet, but it can be a tight space so give yourself lots of time, and don't forget to turn off the water before starting. Had the replacement within days, and was able to disable the solenoid so it worked manually. The solenoid appears to be malfunctioning once again, and I will call Delta tomorrow to order a new one. They were superb to work with last time, and I am sure will be again. Even with these glitches, I would highly recommend this product. We own two holiday rentals in Key West Florida, and this exact model is in both units, and both work flawlessly. Our guests are always amazed at their ease of use, and I am sure that we have "sold" many of these units to our guests for Delta after they leave our condos, for their own homes. Such a great "touch" for a holiday rental, don't you think?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful modern style My Trinsic faucet was installed by a fantastic plumber just last night and I am SOO happy to have another Touch2o faucet again! I had one in my last house and could not wait to replace my kitchen sink in my new house so I could also replace the faucet and have another Touch2o faucet. I love the modern design and the Artic Stainless finish is goes so well in my kitchen. It should also be known that two days before I place my order, Delta Customer Service responded to my question regarding the reviews about issues with the solenoid since I never had a single issue with my previous Delta Touch2o faucet. Thank you for confirming that the solenoid has been redesigned and improved! I look forward to many more years of loving another Delta Touch2o faucet as it really is fabulous when your hands are dirty, especially when baking. With the improvements in the solenoid redesign, anyone that had concerns should be able to order with confidence, just as I did. THANK YOU DELTA!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Touch on feature spot on! We purchased one for our kitchen about 1.5 years ago, it malfunctioned a couple of times in the beginning but it performed well afterwards. We decided to get another one for our utility/laundry sink. So far, so good. Touch on feature is definitely my favorite. Would definitely recommend. The look/design is high quality. Sleek and clean.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Turns off too quickly I have had this faucet for about 6 mo installed. I am constantly touching it to turn it back on,as it goes off on a whim. The pressure of touch has to be just so ,otherwise it stays off. It takes me forever to get through washing my dishes and can be very frustrating. I didn't order the automatic touch but was delivered by mistake and decided to give it a go as I had been without kitchen for few years due to Hurricane Sandy! I am not a high tech person and my old kitchen was 40 yrs old so this is challenging. I did love the brushed champagne color though. Another problem for me is that the hot water goes on when faucet is pulled forward. Any other faucet I have used like this the cold is forward. I also think it is very bulky. My kitchen is small and it's out of place. I imagine that its from the extra sensors etc..... I may just take out the batteries as using part of hand on faucet is just as effective.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Beautiful until it rusted [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased the faucet a little over a year ago. It was pricey but we have always felt Delta has good quality products so we didn’t mind spending a little extra knowing it would last a long time. We absolutely loved the faucet, beautiful and the touch feature was very helpful! The problem arose about 9 months in when the sprayer head started to not fit snuggly back into place. There was a gap between the faucet and the sprayer, it wasn’t that big of a deal so I ignored it for awhile. Except now there is a huge gap and it’s continuing to get worse. Upon inspection I noticed that the rind around the end of the faucet is rusting and as the rust grows the gap becomes larger and larger. This will eventually stop the faucet from working all together. I am extremely dissatisfied as we have only had this faucet for a little over a year and I would expect Deltas products to last longer then that. Will have to consider not purchasing from them in the future.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great features but... The Touch20 feature can be frustrating. It works great for weeks at a time then starts taking multiple touches to start/stop water flow. I have run it on batteries and from the AC adapter. At first it seemed like if it got a lot of use over a couple of hours time it would start forgetting that touching it was supposed to turn it of or on. It may take a couple of a dozen touches to get it to react and then in your frustration, tap it too quickly and turn it off and back on again (on then off again) and have to go through the cycle again. I wish I could add a video, it took 11 taps to turn it off and has been like this the whole day. Tomorrow it will probably work fine without moving things around under the sink and checking that all the wiring is not touching something else. The faucet gets 5 stars but the Touch20 Technology for an extra $250 needs serious rework.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It us a great faucet... Until it stops working I've had this faucet for almost 2 years now...Changed the batteries 2x so far. But after yesterday change, the touch featured stopped working...Plug unplug repeat... No dice. A faucet costing the that much should come with problems., Especially when one buys this faucet for its touch feature.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Developed a constant drip This faucet was professionally installed 6 months ago in a kitchen renovation. It has worked flawlessly until now. A constant drip whenever the touch feature is used to turn it off. I hope this isn't the norm!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Greatest invention in eons! We just remodeled our kitchen I had a Touch 20 faucet installed. It is amazing, I love everything about it. After reading the reviews I still went with this faucet. I'm hoping mine doesn't fail. But for now the honeymoon is on. No more water around the faucet because of the touch on and off feature, there is even an "automatic" shut off if it thinks it has been running too long. Incredible! Very quite, and not only looks beautiful but WORKS beautifully. Must have one for the bathroom. Thank you Delta design team!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great Idea, Decent Execution [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's going to take time to get used to a faucet that turns on with a touch. It looks great. There isn't a flow limiter that can be removed to increase gpm/power. The faucet has spontaneously turned on and off without being touched; I need to look into adjusting the sensitivity. The battery compartment has popped open, the design isn't perfect. I use rubber bands to keep it shut. The faucet won't work if there aren't working batteries.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from it drips! I had the faucet professionally installed in June (2017) to replace an older Moen kitchen faucet that was about 14 years old. The new one worked perfectly for several months however it has recently start to drip a little when turned off with the 'touch feature'. It is a slow but annoying drip, drip, drip so I have to use the valve to stop the flow. It seams like there might be a simple fix for this problem but I am at a loss. I'm bummed out...not excited about replacing this faucet, but unless it works like before....I'll be shopping.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It began acting up right away...turning on by itself if I was in the other room, or shutting off on its own while I was using it. But I tolerated it for a full year until it completely stopped working. It was not the batteries. Both the sensor activation and the hand tap no longer function.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Amazing Faucet, a bit trickey at first I love this faucet. The color is more of a champagne bronze color which is a nice soft gold and NOT a dark or antique gold which is exactly what I wanted. I added all brass fixtures faucets and handles to my white kitchen and it is stunning. My only reason for 4 stars is that the faucet magnet part seems a little less sturdy than the Kohler I replaced it with. Also, the touch on/off feature is a little tricky. When you turn it on and pull the sprayer down it will turn off and then you have to tap it again to turn it back on. also, it will turn on if you are wiping the counter or faucet with a rag. Once you get used to that though it is pretty perfect and I would absolutely recommend it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Biggest Mistake EVER! We had high hopes that this faucet would be a smart decision. But, after a month with it, we found ourselves having to explain to anyone using the sink how to operate it. Then, it started to fail. I called Delta several times and it was always my fault. "The batteries could not be rechargeables even though it seemed like they lasted a week." "The battery pack was too close to the walls of the cabinet". Then, it stopped shutting off altogether on it's own. The water would run forever while it 'recalibarted'. We finally just used it as a regular faucet but the water pressure was feeble. It was a big mistake. The good news is we replaced it with a Moen faucet for half the price that works just fine.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Beautiful Faucet ... BUT Touch feature has stopped working We purchased this faucet and had it professionally installed in our remodeled kitchen at the end of May. Our contractor indicated it was easy to install. It's an absolutely beautiful faucet and looks nice in our kitchen. The pull-out spray nozzle works well and the button to change between stream and spray is easily accessible on the nozzle and easy to push. The magnetic feature nicely returns the nozzle to the faucet spout. The on/off handle can be used to turn off the flow (i.e., if you're working around the faucet and keep bumping it). Up until this week it worked beautifully. The touch feature had worked without issue but has now stopped working (mid-July). However, we are still able to use the faucet with the on/off handle.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Compromised by an Expensive Non-functioning "Touch" Feature This review is of a Delta Faucet 9159T-AR-DST Trinsic Single Handle Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet Featuring Touch2O Technology, Arctic Stainless installed in March 2014. Even after a five hour installation attempt by a licensed plumber, carefully following the included instructions, avoiding any metal-to-metal or electric component overlap, and installing an under sink insulation barrier, plus a service call directly to DELTA seeking advice, we are still without the ability to use this faucet's touted "touch" feature. The problem appears to revolve around an inability to ground the solenoid electronics so that a touch activates the ON / OFF function. Our white-porcelain-over-cast-iron-sink set into a thick granite countertop complicated the installation process, necessitating the need to cut the hard plastic insulation piece to fit. When battery operated, the solenoid allows the water to turn on and off; however, the ability to operate the faucet by touch remains inoperable. Furthermore, the battery connection itself remains intermittent, easily interrupted whenever wires attached to the solenoid pack are jostled. These both appear to be design issues that need to be addressed. Until they are, if your installation involves anything but the most common kind of sink (preferably not made of metal), I would avoid spending the extra for the "touch" feature. If you do decide to go ahead anyway, find a plumber who has installed one with this feature before to assure your best chance for success. The faucet itself looks great; however, we have invested hundreds of dollars for a non-functioning feature and an unnecessarily complicated installation process that seriously mitigates our appreciation of its attractive design.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Does not reliably deliver water I ordered this faucet because it looked the way I wanted it to look. I thought the automatic features would be harmless. They are not. This faucet turns off without provocation. Or it won't turn on, without explanation. Sometimes it turns off, and will turn on if I touch the under-sink electrical part with wet hands. In any case, it just a hit-or-miss proposition as to whether I will have water in my kitchen sink. Please note that this review is based on my second installation of this product: the first leaked all over my kitchen. While it was replaced free, I still paid a plumber several times to own this faucet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this faucet It took a few minutes (Hours) to get used to the touch on/off. Now I just love it and feel like it saves me tons of money since I turn it off and on while washing/rinsing dishes. Not only that but it looks beautiful. Would recommend.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Delta Touch Faucet Nice faucet - touch feature very handy (also fun party trick for guests). I would give it 5 stars except the touch feature will sometimes "ghost on". The 1-800 Delta Reps are Very Helpful (Great BTW), but they know about the problem(s). There are 3 thin wires (led, ground, & battery pack) that cannot touch or cross; difficult to arrange/maintain under a typical crowded sink. Also, the battery pack needs to sit a certain & be place 2" away from all walls; challenging for same reasons. All in all, a great product, just requires fiddling & call-backs.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Touch technology neat but not really worth it. This is a lovely faucet. It's sleek design matched our contemporary/modern kitchen. I was worried that it would obstruct the view into the kitchen of our open concept home but I found this not to be the case. The other reviews about the water pressure are valid. We have two sinks in our kitchen and the other faucet has noticeably more pressure. However on a day to day use, it's fine. With regards to the touch technology 2.0 I find it finicky. It works well about 75% of the time. I can touch it it in all the places and it won't turn on then the next day it works like in the videos. Ive changed the batteries, played with the placement of the battery pack but still the same result. Next time I'm not sure I would pay the extra money for this feature.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from We love our new faucet! I am so happy that I purchased this faucet. It looks great in my kitchen. I was worried that it would be problematic. There were not many reviews on this faucet. It has been installed for a month and we have not had any problems at all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's a little early to tell I'm cautiously optimistic about this faucet. It's quite beautiful (especially in the Champagne Bronze) and I was told by the gentleman that sold it to me that all the bugs had been worked out in this next generation "Touch" feature. However, they did provide four wrapped, seemingly fresh AA batteries in the box that were weak right out of the box and failed completely after only days in service. But once we purchased new batteries and put them in we discovered that a red light on the unit DOES NOT mean it's working it means the batteries are on the way out. Once the new batteries were in place we discovered the wonderful blue light that should have been there all along when the unit was running. But I digress. So far I really love it. But I expecting these batteries NOT to have to be changed for quite a while. If I'm wrong then I'll write another less happy report.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! The arctic stainless is beautiful. The faucet has such a beautiful modern look. There is no splash - even with my deep sink - except when rinsing something with the sprayer. Then if I don't do it low in the sink I will get some spray but that's normal with any faucet. The only part that doesn't respond to touch is the part with the sprayer that comes away from the faucet. That's handy so you can switch from stream to spray without accidentally turning off the faucet. It does have an auto shut off after a period of time which is handy also. I love it. Only issue is guests who, not thinking about it, turn the water off manually and then complain that the touch isn't working. Not the faucets fault! Just a learning curve for them. I love it and can't say enough good things about it. You don't have to touch the faucet handle with dirty hands or wet hands - thus you don't get dirt/germs or drips all over the back of your countertop and faucet. Love. And faucetdirect is great to work with! Very helpful.

Q&A

What is the height of the handle from the countertop?

We have a breakfast bar behind our sink. The clearance to the backsplash at the countertop is 2.5 inches, which is sufficient for the Trinsic faucet. However, there is a half inch overhang from the breakfast bar. This overhang begins at 5 inches above the countertop. Consequently, the clearance is only 2 inches at that overhang. Will this interfere with the operation of the handle?
Asked by: Plymouth
No this should not interfere with your clearance as I had 2" for my facucet to the back splash

Can the on/off handle be reversed to the left side during installation

Asked by: Kevin
Kevin, Thank you for your question. We recommend installing the faucet with the handle on the right. The handle operates by tilting away from the faucet to turn on. The vertical (back) position gives cold water and rotating the handle forward provides hot. Unfortunately, there is no way to reverse the movement, so if the handle is installed on the left, it will rotate backwards. Also, reversing the installation would move the LED light to the back of the faucet. Best regards, Jon

Can you toggle between stream and spray? Or do you have to turn off the faucet to turn off spray mode?

Asked by: PS
Thank you for your question PS. You can toggle between stream and spray without having to turn the faucet off. Touch2O® Technology is a sophisticated technology and understands the difference between a touch (1/3 of a second) or a grab (more then 300 milliseconds) and will not turn off when toggling through stream and spray. Can I install the faucet with the level handle in the front instead of to the right? If yes, would it change the location of the blue light for the touch2o motion?

Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # 9159T-DST can be turned so the handle is in the front. However, the blue light will also move. Also, the hot and cold will be side to side to operate.

I am having an issue I’d like some help with please. Sometimes when I touch the faucet to stop the flow of water we get a steady drip (sometimes heavier than others). When we use the handle to stop the water, no drip. What mechanism needs attention?

Asked by: Vanne
Hi, Vanne! Thank you for your question, and I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing a leak from your Delta faucet. Leaking from the faucet in the touch off mode usually comes from debris inside the solenoid. You may flush the solenoid by following these next steps. 1. Turn the water supply by putting your handle in the manual off position. 2. Disconnect the sprayer hose by removing the blue retaining clip. 3. Place a bucket under the male adapter coming out from the solenoid. 4. Run water into the bucket for 2-3 minutes. Debris located inside the solenoid should be flushed out after completing these steps. If this does not correct the leak, please contact our Delta Customer Service line at (800)345-3358. We are available Monday-Friday, 7am-7pm, CST and Saturday, 8am-5pm, CST. You may also email at customerservice@deltafaucet.com. Best Regards, Rosanna
