I have wanted a touch to activate faucet for so long (I hate trying to turn on the faucet when I have raw meat on my hands). I was so excited after installing this, which, by the way, was pretty easy. Then to have it not work after only 2 months because the batteries died!! During my husband's birthday party! I was scrambling g to find more AA's wherever I could find them, and after only a month I cannot use my sink AGAIN. I am going to try the C batteries and fingers crossed it will last more than 2 months. I will repost if it does work, Delta needs to make this known

Rated 1 out of 5 by Stirgo from Touch on/off system does not work properly When we received this faucet, the box was slightly damage on one corner. When I opened the box, there was a million very little metal balls loose in the box. In fact, the hose weight (plastic) was broken and half the balls were in the box. I had to use the metal, solid weight of the existing faucet I was replacing. The installation was really easy. The instructions are very clear and the provided wrench is very useful when you are under sink in a tight location. The pressure is good. The 3-function wand is nice and the magnet to keep it in place works well. The adjustment of the water temperature is not very progressive and it can be hard to find the right temperature between hot and cold. Now, here is the bad part that justifies the only one-star rating. This faucet has a mind of its own! The touch on/off function just does not work properly. The faucet goes on and off by itself without touching anything (i did not buy the touchless version). Only the non-rotating base of the faucet seems to turn on and off the faucet. A touch anywhere else (handle or spout) does not have any effect. The faucet can be on for 20 seconds then stop by itself for 3 seconds then turn on again for ten seconds then off a minute and turn on again (this is an example but it's all random). Also when pulling the wand down more than 3-4 inches, the faucet randomly turns off and then turns back on as soon as the wand moves upward. This is so ridiculous that I have disconnected the electrovalve and use it as a standard faucet. The problem is that I paid a high price for a faucet that does not do what it is supposed to. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT.

So what happens when the battery for the solenoid is dead: it will not turn on, If you are using the adaptor plug and power goes out, I believe it will not turn on. That's what the people at Delta told me.

But, our faucet is 4 years now, and we had to essentially argue to get a replacement solenoid by year 3, and after another year it has gone out again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Frustrated from What junk! The only reason this faucet got 1 star is because 0 stars wasn't available. I am so disappointed, angry, and frustrated with this faucet. I cook a lot and I was so excited to have this "touch on" feature. I have spent far more money on plumbers bills to fix this faucet (multiple times) than its purchase price. I had this installed about 5 years ago. First, about two years in, I had water leaking from the handle. To Delta's credit, they sent me a replacement part free of charge, but the bill for the plumber was on me. Shortly after that the light that senses water temperature failed. I bought a new solenoid (a nearly $200 part) and paid the plumber's bill to replace it. Unfortunately, that did not solve the light issue -- the sensing for cold water worked, but the red light never worked again. I decided to ignore the temperature sensing malfunction since the faucet worked without it. Now, another two years down the road, the solenoid has failed again -- the "touch on" feature, which was the only reason I bought this faucet, no longer works. I could've paid a whole lot less for a conventional faucet, but the "touch on" feature was important to me. Something else to note: with the touch feature not working, regular use of the handle every day, all day, loosens the screw in the handle which makes the handle loose and flop around. The handle screw needs to be tightened weekly. TLDR: Save money and aggravation and buy another faucet.

Rated 2 out of 5 by SandieD from Disappointing at every turn I took comfort in the Delta name and lifetime warranty 9 years ago when I purchased my very first fancy touch faucet. About 6 months ago, while cleaning, it started its decline and ultimately became inoperable. Delta sent 2 sets of parts but the more I tinkered with the worse it got. Finally I received a new unit which was supposed to be an upgrade. Definitely not. A contractor installed last night and the touch worked perfectly. Today we’ve had to touch it up to 4 times to turn the unit on. The sprayer is weird and does not give a normal spray. Who wants 2 side sprays? The splashless option is pretty useless. The faucet doesn’t pull out smoothly like my previous unit but maybe that will wear down over time. The “upgraded” version style isn’t as modern looking with its handle as my previous version. So I am disappointed but after having no working faucet for 7 days I was grateful to be able to cook and clean the kitchen again. I’d love to share my video but only a YouTube video link is permitted.

Why don't I have very little hot water pressure when I have good cold water pressure? Hot water source is open all the way. Been like this from the time it was installed.

Please refer to the instructions below to flush your faucet. DST Flush from underneath - This type of flushing requires to be under the sink. *Please gather one 5 GAL bucket and some towels for excess water. 1. Please shut off both hot and cold water supplies. 2. Remove the cold water line and point the line into the bucket. 3. Turn the hot water on and allow the water to flow into the bucket for about a minute. 4. Turn the hot water back off and install the cold water line correctly. 5. Remove the hot water line and point the line into the bucket. 6. Turn the cold water on and allow the water to flow into the bucket for about a minute. 7. Bought our Delta Faucet Leland 9178T-SP-DST in Nov 2020 and installed it on 2/3/2021...love the Touch2 O Pull-down Faucet with the 3-function sprayer but lately when I press 1 of the 3 function spray mode I'll get a mix of all 3 functions sprays instead.

Can this work if battery is drained?

Before the batteries are drained, you can switch it to a manual mode, by turning the faucet on so that water is running and then remove the cap from the battery box. I have had Leland touch faucet since March 2020 and it has worked great. Recently the touch feature started becoming inconsistent, so I replaced the batteries twice.  Still not working with touch.  Suggestions?  Please help!

There are a couple of common adjustments that can be made to improve the operation of our Delta Faucet Leland® Single Handle Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet With Touch2O® And ShieldSpray® Technologies In Arctic Stainless MODEL#: 9178T-AR-DST. Please make sure any wires are isolated from the solenoid box, the water supply lines, and anything else that might conduct electricity. If space is limited, we recommend a minimum of two inches of clearance, if possible. We also recommend placing the battery pack flat on the floor or as close to the ground at your feet as possible. The battery pack should have at least 2 inches of clearance from the walls or anything that can conduct electricity below the counter, as the pack is also touch-sensitive. The faucet automatically shuts off if it hasn't been touched in 4 minutes. Is there a way to override this feature? (I like to keep my faucet dripping slowly during especially cold/freezing weather.)

Hi kmote, Thank you for your question about this Touch2O faucet! The faucet can be used manually so that it will not turn off automatically and can be left to drip. One way is to disconnect the battery cap while the water is flowing. The solenoid valve will then stay open and the faucet can be used manually. Or, using a bucket to catch excess water and with the handle closed, disconnect the hoses above and below the solenoid and then clip the hoses together. Check that the clip is over the shoulders of the hose connection and pull down to ensure the connection is secure. The light on our faucet stopped working after just a few weeks, that has not been a big issue but would love to know if there is a way to fix it. The bigger issue is that the faucet drips when turned off with the touch feature.

I've heard some complaints about the reliability of the Touch2O, so I'm wondering if there is a way to disable Touch2O and just use it like a standard sink. I skimmed through the manual, but didn't notice a way to disable Touch2O.

I am sorry this information was not readily available for our Delta Faucet Leland® Single Handle Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet With Touch2O® And ShieldSpray® Technologies In Arctic Stainless MODEL#: 9178T-AR-DST, and I am happy to help you! The touch function will work properly as long as the installation steps are followed, and the faucet is isolated properly. If there is any inconsistent operation then we would need to take a look at the installation, Delta Faucet does have a lifetime limited warranty on the faucet and a 5-year warranty on the electronics. If you still decide to remove the solenoid and change the faucet to a manual unit, please see the directions below. The easiest way to make our Delta touch models manual is to remove the battery box from the solenoid while the water is running. There are a couple more ways we can advise to make them manual, If the faucet is a later generation, the solenoid assembly may be removed, and the wand hose connected directly to the valve outlet tube. Lastly, If the solenoid Generation 1 or 2, and operational enough, we can directly energize it open. These directions are in the M&Is, using the battery pack to reverse the power to the solenoid momentarily. This is the least preferred method. Thank you for being a loyal Delta Faucet customer. Our 9178T-AR-DST Delta faucet turns on by itself. We tried changing the batteries and it continues to turn on when nobody is around it.

Hello Lori, Thank you for your question. We are happy to help! A Delta Faucet with Touch2O turning on without being touched would be an issue of electrically isolating the faucet. We recommend placing the battery box on the floor, away from any walls. Keep the wires away from any other wires and away from metal as much as possible. Check that the faucet mounting shank is not touching the edge of the sink. Try moving the clip down the mounting shank and pointing it away from the sink. We have the 9178T-AR-DST model and now the when you touch the faucet the water may or may not turn off.  The indicator light will turn off & on but not the water.  Sometimes it will turn off 5-10 seconds later and then sometime not at all

I have one of these faucets that have three different streams. The water pressure got very slow after using only one year. I have cleaned the aerator which has not helped at all. Is there another filter some place that could need cleaned or changed?

The finish on our LELAND Spray Assembly - Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet is peeling off. I have pictures and would like to send the in for warranty. How do I go about starting a claim?

I have Leland Model 9178T-DST in Venitian Bronze. I have 6 other faucets in my house. All have indicators & function with hot water on left/cold on right. Is there an indicator button (RP50585) with hot left/cold right so I can match water line connection

Can you turn off or otherwise disable the “Auto-Off” feature. Or is there a way to extend the time period longer than 4 minutes?

My Spray Shield button is sticking. Tried soaking it and it has gotten better. It doesn’t stick EVERY time. Just very 5th or 6th time. Have to use pliers to pull out the button. How does one fix this? Is a replacement spray head unit available?

I have a 9178-rb-dst kitchen faucet from Amazon March 21. The pull down head is not reseating correctly. When I looked closely I saw what appeared to be a thin metal ring had deteriorated and pieces dropped out don’t know what else is missing.

What is the difference between the 9178T-RB-DST and the 9178-RB-DST models?

Leland (9178T-RB-DST) touch faucet. At first install (08/09/2021) the touch functionality worked as designed. I could touch anywhere on the faucet. As of 3 days ago, only touching the base of the faucet is working. I use battery pack and plug.

Hello Prickly1, Thank you for your question about the Delta Faucet model 9678T-SP-DST LELAND® Single Handle Pull-Down Bar / Prep Faucet With Touch2O® Technology. I apologize for any difficulty finding this information. We are happy to help! Yes, this faucet can be used manually. One way is with the faucet running water, disconnect the battery pack by opening it. You now have a manually operated faucet. The solenoid was open allowing water to flow through and is now stuck open because you removed the power it would use to close. Reconnecting the battery would close the solenoid and make it electronic again. Also as a second option, the solenoid assembly may be removed, and the wand hose connected directly to the valve outlet tube. a. Open the battery holder cap. b. Disconnect the sensor hook(s) from the spout and/or valve shank. c. Remove the hose clip and hose from the solenoid. d. Remove the solenoid from the valve outlet tube by removing the clip or swinging the clip open. e. Reconnect the hose with the hose clip to the spout outlet nipple. when the faucet is shut off, it continues to drip for an unsatisfactory amount of time and amount of water. Can this be remedied?
