Rated 2 out of 5 by from Delta 9178T Malfunction Have had this product for about 2 years.. Seems as if it has a mind of it's own sometime off and on without our touching it. However the big problem is that now it won't come on. Have replaced the batteries with no success. When its turned on, for a while it would just have a small stream about the size of a match stick then suddenly come on full. Now it won't come on at all. Checked batteries again with not success.

It also has an auto shut off that I don't like. I guess the faucet works the way that it is supposed to and I should have done better research before buying it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Working great except for the light I just installed this Touch 2.0 Leland faucet and have no major issues so far. I installed this by myself and the install was very simple and straight-forward. It took me about an hour to remove the old faucet and install the new one. My only issue and the reason for the three stars is the temperature indicator led is barely visible. When standing at the sink, it does not even appear to be working. When bending down to be at eye level, the light does work but is very faint. As it is, the light is useless as an indicator because it can not be seen unless the kitchen is dark. I really don't intend to be washing dishes in the dark. Hopefully this minor issue can be resolved.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Defective Product Bought this faucet during a kitchen remodel. Within 6 months the handle started leaking when left in the "open" position. I called Delta and they sent a replacement cartridge to fix the leak. I spent money to have my plumber install the new piece. Almost immediately the handle began to leak again. I would come into the kitchen in the morning and my entire island would be covered in water and spilling onto the floor. Stopped using the touch feature and just closed the handle like a normal faucet to prevent leaking and it is now leaking with the handle closed too. Also, the magnet component that retracts the head of the faucet back into the arm has completely rusted out and disintegrated after a year of use. Delta is now sending me more parts (in lieu of a replacement faucet) and refuses to acknowledge that I received a poor product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Love/hate relationship with faucet First the bad - buyers need to be aware of an problem with the cartridge for this model. Purchased this last spring, but because of COVID, did not have it installed until last October. A few months ago, it started dripping. Also, since the faucet was installed, the water pressure has gone from ok to worse, with it taking 20 minutes to fill up my medium-sized kitchen sink. After looking online, I see that there is a known issue with the cartridge for this model and people are having to replace it several times. The water pressure was lower in the faucet as soon as it was installed. We tried cleaning the little tiny circular filter in the faucet head with no luck, and so with everything going on, we just lived with it. But when the flow became a big issue (couldn't rinse out debris in the sink, garbage disposal wasn't getting clean), we had a plumber come over thinking it was an issue with the new lines that were put in before the faucet was installed. Nope. Plumber tells us the cartridge is bad and needs to be replaced after only 9 months of using it. So, we'll have to buy another cartridge and have the plumber come back out, replace it, and then pay his bill $$$. Now the good. What do I love about the faucet? Everything else. I have rheumatoid arthritis and several other health issues, and having a faucet that turns on with a touch is so wonderful. It's also a huge bonus when your hands are filthy and you can use your wrist to turn the water on. Combined with our automatic soap dispenser, it's effortless to clean our hands. I find myself wishing all of our faucets would turn on with just a touch! And the three spray modes are great, especially the one that comes out as a very focused stream which removes bits of gunk stuck to plates, etc. Some people don't care for a feature which turns the faucet off after 4 minutes. I actually enjoy that as I can leave the faucet on to fill the sink or a pot and know it will turn itself off. More than once I've turned the faucet on and forgotten about it, and now I don't have to worry. It also looks great on our counter, which was a minor factor when purchasing this. Would I purchase this again? Probably. We looked around for over a month trying to find a faucet that fit our needs and specifications and found one that crossed everything off. But the cartridge needing to be replaced is frustrating and costly.

Needed two parts right away out of the box as unit leaked from spray nozzle and spray pattern was not correct. Delta tech support person Carmen was helpful and parts arrived as scheduled. Still waiting for plumber to complete install as happens when things don't go well the first time.

After a few days, there must have been sand/dirt in the lines that caused the volume to be reduced. I contacted the builder and did nothing. Since then, the volume of water has slowed to a trickle which makes washing dishes miserable. I contacted the supply house who contacted Delta and there are no parts available and have been back ordered for months. Got fed up with this facet and will replace with a normal 0n/Off using a handle. By the way, we have to other sinks in the kitchen area that does not have touch and they work just fine. This facet has been a headache since day 1 and I would not recommend to buy one.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Touch feature became posessed and now faucet leaks I've had this faucet for over 5 years. The touch feature became possessed and would just turn on all by itself when no one was even close to it. I did all the trouble-shooting that the Delta website recommended (clearly lots of people have had similar issues). Eventually I gave up and disconnected the touch feature. But now the faucet is almost impossible to turn off. If you don't slam the handle just right it drips. So basically, every time I go to turn if off it takes three or four tries. Additionally, it is extremely difficult to find the exact right balance of hot and cold. Once you fight the sweet spot you don't want to turn the water off for fear you'll never find it again. So you end up wasting a ton of water. It was great when it worked but too much money to just have to replace it after five or six years. I'm not even going to bother with the warranty to get the leak fixed because I have so much trouble with the temperature balance.

The touch on works with battery but it won't work with A.C. power supply. Why?

Hello Spectrum, Thank you for your question. We actually recommend you leave the batteries in the battery box while using the AC power adapter. It is recommended to keep it plug up due to the fact, if there is not enough power it will not work. Best regards, Tanya

I bought a 9178-ar-dst What hole size is required and what clearance do you need to the rear of the faucet ?

Artic or Stainless

We are looking at getting the Leland Touch 20 in the Artic finish, as I like the brushed look for our new kitchen addition. Will this go with stainless sinks?

We have a nickel coated sink. What color would be match?

Hi Steve, Thank you for your question. Arctic Stainless and Stainless Steel are both brushed finishes. Over the years, the color of stainless steel used on appliances and sinks has migrated from warmer tones, with more red in the color spectrum, to lighter tones where blue is more predominant. Arctic Stainless features cooler metallic tones, following a trend seen throughout the kitchen. We recommend comparing the finishes at a store near you to determine the best match. Best regards, Jon

Will the faucet still work with no batteries loaded in the holder?

What is the difference between Leland model #: 9178T-AR-DST and Model # 9178T SP-DST and the one at Lowe's Model # 9678T- DST? Also Can I order any Delta Kitchen faucet you make through Lowe's, or just select one's?

Thank you for your question, MAUREEN! 9178T-AR-DST and 9178T-SP-DST are the same faucet, but with different finishes. AR is a finish code for Arctic Stainless, and SP is the finish code for Spotshield Brushed Nickle. The 9678T-DST is the bar/prep version of the 9178T-DST. It has the same design as 9178T-DST, but has a shorter height. Certain retailers such as Lowes and Home Depot, have Delta products manufactured exclusively for those retailers. How does the aerator come apart for cleaning?

Hi, Jill! Thank you for your question. The Delta 9178T-Ar-DST Faucet sprayer assembly does have a removable aerator that can be unscrewed counterclockwise from the face of the sprayer with the RP50815 aerator wrench. Once removed, the aerator, or even the whole sprayer can be soaked in a solution of 50% white vinegar and 50% water for an hour or even overnight to clean debris. Best Regards, Rosanna
