PRODUCT FEATURES
Touch it on. Touch it off. Whether you have two full hands or 10 messy fingers, Delta® Touch2O® Technology helps keep your faucet clean, even when your hands aren’t. A simple touch anywhere on the spout or handle with your wrist or forearm activates the flow of water at the temperature where your handle is set. The Delta TempSense™ LED light changes color to alert you to the water’s temperature and eliminate any possible surprises or discomfort. Delta® MagnaTite® Docking uses a powerful integrated magnet to pull your faucet spray wand precisely into place and hold it there so it stays docked when not in use. Delta® ShieldSpray® Technology cleans with laser-like precision while containing mess and splatter. A concentrated jet powers away stubborn messes while an innovative shield of water contains splatter and clears off the mess, so you can spend less time soaking, scrubbing and shirt swapping. Rated 3 out of 5 by from Faucet dead when batteries die Could not believe my faucet would not work when batteries died!! I have wanted a touch to activate faucet for so long (I hate trying to turn on the faucet when I have raw meat on my hands). I was so excited after installing this, which, by the way, was pretty easy. Then to have it not work after only 2 months because the batteries died!! During my husband's birthday party! I was scrambling g to find more AA's wherever I could find them, and after only a month I cannot use my sink AGAIN. I am going to try the C batteries and fingers crossed it will last more than 2 months. I will repost if it does work, Delta needs to make this known

Q&A

Is there a flow restriction that can be removed from the Delta 9178T-SP-DST Kitchen faucet? We have very low water pressure and the flow is to slow compared to our old faucet

Asked by: Bobby
Hi Bobby, Thanks for your question regarding 9178T-SP-DST! No, this model has a maximum flow rate of 1.8 GPM at 60 psi. We do not recommend removing or modifying the flow restrictor as this will void the warranty and may cause it to no longer comply with state or federal plumbing codes. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or for further assistance. Best Regards, Emma Digital Communications Specialist

Can I extend the run time beyond 4 minutes before auto shut off? Is there a way to by-pass the solenoid to use faucet in manual operation?

Asked by: AMiller
Hello AMiller, Thank you for your question, I would be happy to help you. Unfortunately the 4 minute timer can not be adjusted longer, please see below for steps to make it non touch(manual): With the faucet running water, disconnect the battery pack by opening it. Or if you have an open battery tray, remove the batteries. You now have a manually operated faucet. The solenoid was open allowing water to flow through and is now stuck open because you removed the power it would use to close. Reconnecting the battery would close the solenoid and make it electronic again. Please contact us back for any further questions or concerns. Best Regards, Nicole

Very low water flow. Have replaced the batteries and cleaned out faucet screen. Please advise

Asked by: Christine
Hi Christine, Thanks so much for contacting Delta Faucet Company! It is possible that a flush could resolve this issue with the LELAND® Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet MODEL#: 9178T-DST. To flush the supply line, first shut off the hot and cold-water supply. Remove the hot supply line from the shut-off valve and place the line into a bucket. Open the handle to the fully open middle position, and then turn the cold supply back on for one minute. The cold water should flow through the faucet and out the hot supply tube. Reconnect the supply line and repeat with the second line. If this does not help, please let us know. Please reach out with further questions! Best Regards, Kelley Digital Communications Specialist

Asked by: MadcustomerPete
Hello MadcustomerPete, Thank you for contacting Delta Faucet Company! I am sorry this information was not readily available, and I am happy to help you! Inconsistent operation with your Delta Faucet LELAND® Single Handle Pull-Down Bar / Prep Faucet With Touch2O® Technology MODEL#: 9678T-SP-DST can be fixed by making some isolation adjustments. I have included some helpful troubleshooting below. There are a couple of common adjustments that can be made to improve the faucet operation. Please make sure any wires are isolated from the solenoid box, the water supply lines, and anything else that might conduct electricity. If space is limited, we recommend a minimum of two inches of clearance, if possible. We also recommend placing the battery pack flat on the floor or as close to the ground at your feet as possible. The battery pack should have at least 2 inches of clearance from the walls or anything that can conduct electricity below the counter as the pack is also touch-sensitive. Thank you for being a loyal Delta customer. Please contact us back for any further questions. Best Regards, Nicole

Is there a way to adjust the hot and cold, our faucet does not provide warm water, it is either cold our scorching hot.

Asked by: Molly
Hi Molly, Thanks for your question regarding 9678T-SP-DST! The orange/red switch on the top of the Delta Valve Cartridge RP50587 is a handle limit stop which is an optional safety feature that can be used to prevent the handle from moving too far to the hot side. When it is switched all the way to the left, the handle can turn to the hottest position. When it is kept to the right, this will limit the handle to turn only halfway to the hot side. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or for further assistance. Best Regards, Emma Digital Communications Specialist

How do you manual bypass the electronics?

Asked by: Don5
Hi Don5, thank you for your interest in the 9178T-SP-DST! For Kitchen Touch2O® faucets, there are a few ways to make them manual. 1. If you can get the water to flow, then the most universal option can be used. It does not matter which model or version for this method (excluding Pascal & flow). With the faucet running water, disconnect the battery pack by opening it. Or if you have an open battery tray, remove the batteries. You now have a manually operated faucet. The solenoid was open allowing water to flow through and is now stuck open because you removed the power it would use to close. Reconnecting the battery would close the solenoid and make it electronic again. Or 2. If the faucet is a later generation, the solenoid assembly may be removed, and the wand hose connected directly to the valve outlet tube. a. Open the battery holder cap. b. Disconnect the sensor hook(s) from the spout and/or valve shank. c. Remove the hose clip and hose from the solenoid. d. Remove the solenoid from the valve outlet tube by removing the clip or swinging the clip open. e. Reconnect the hose with the hose clip to the spout outlet nipple. Note: If the solenoid uses RP60520 adapter to connect to the valve outlet, for example, the early Trinsic®, Addison™, and Ashton® … the pullout hose can be connected directly to the valve outlet nipple, not the adapter. a. Open the battery holder cap. b. Disconnect the sensor hook(s) from the spout and/or valve shank. c. Remove the hose clip and hose. d. Remove the metal solenoid clip and solenoid. e. Remove the adapter from the valve outlet tube. The adapter must also be removed to reveal the valve outlet nipple. The hose cannot connect to the adapter. f. Reconnect the hose with the hose clip to the valve outlet nipple. The faucet is now a manually operated pullout or pulldown. Or 3. If the solenoid Generation 1 or 2, and operational enough, we can directly energize it open. This is the least preferred method. These directions are in the packaged instructions, using the battery pack to reverse the power to the solenoid momentarily. Please contact us directly if you have any questions or need additional assistance. Best Regards, Themar Digital Communications Specialist

Asked by: Jason

Asked by: james123
Hello james123, Thank you for contacting Delta Faucet Company! I am sorry this information was not readily available for our Delta Faucet Leland® Single Handle Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet With Touch2O® And ShieldSpray® Technologies In Arctic Stainless MODEL#: 9178T-AR-DST, and I am happy to help you! The touch function will work properly as long as the installation steps are followed, and the faucet is isolated properly. If there is any inconsistent operation then we would need to take a look at the installation, Delta Faucet does have a lifetime limited warranty on the faucet and a 5-year warranty on the electronics. If you still decide to remove the solenoid and change the faucet to a manual unit, please see the directions below. The easiest way to make our Delta touch models manual is to remove the battery box from the solenoid while the water is running. There are a couple more ways we can advise to make them manual, If the faucet is a later generation, the solenoid assembly may be removed, and the wand hose connected directly to the valve outlet tube. Lastly, If the solenoid Generation 1 or 2, and operational enough, we can directly energize it open. These directions are in the M&Is, using the battery pack to reverse the power to the solenoid momentarily. This is the least preferred method. Thank you for being a loyal Delta Faucet customer.
