Specs for Leland 9178T faucet show minimum 2 1/2" clearance to back splash from center of faucet. My clearance is only 1 1/2" from center of faucet, but back splash stops 4" above sink. Will I have room to turn the handle without hitting back splash?

Asked by: DWGIL
Hello DWGIL, Thank you for your question, I would be happy to help you. The handle on model 9178T-SP-DST rotates towards the back splash, and unfortunately if the back splash clearance is less then 2 1/2" min then yes the handle would hit. Please contact us back for any further questions or concerns. Best Regards, Nicole

If there is a problem with the touch2O, could I still use it manually?

Asked by: Anna
Hello Anna, Thank you for your question! We apologize for the inconveniences you are experiencing with the Delta Faucet Leland® Single Handle Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet With Touch2O® And ShieldSpray® Technologies In Spotshield Stainless MODEL#: 9178T-SP-DST and will be happy to help you. This can most likely be resolved by adjusting the installation below the sink. Please make sure that no wires are touching metal objects or other wires. Next, unplug the black LED wire and push it back in firmly until it clicks. Please reset the solenoid by removing the cap from the battery box for one minute and reconnecting it. Be sure to use a new set of brand name, non-rechargeable batteries, and install them as indicated on the box. Please also ensure that the battery box is placed on the floor of the cabinet, 2 inches from the sides or metal objects. To switch the faucet to a manual mode, turn the faucet on so that water is running and then remove the cap from the battery box. Thank you for being a loyal Delta Faucet customer. We look forward to continuing to serve you. Please feel free to contact us back for further assistance. Best Regards, Kelley

Is there a flow restriction that can be removed from the Delta 9178T-SP-DST Kitchen faucet? We have very low water pressure and the flow is to slow compared to our old faucet

Asked by: Bobby
Hi Bobby, Thanks for your question regarding 9178T-SP-DST! No, this model has a maximum flow rate of 1.8 GPM at 60 psi. We do not recommend removing or modifying the flow restrictor as this will void the warranty and may cause it to no longer comply with state or federal plumbing codes. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or for further assistance. Best Regards, Emma Digital Communications Specialist

Can I extend the run time beyond 4 minutes before auto shut off? Is there a way to by-pass the solenoid to use faucet in manual operation?

Asked by: AMiller
Hello AMiller, Thank you for your question, I would be happy to help you. Unfortunately the 4 minute timer can not be adjusted longer, please see below for steps to make it non touch(manual): With the faucet running water, disconnect the battery pack by opening it. Or if you have an open battery tray, remove the batteries. You now have a manually operated faucet. The solenoid was open allowing water to flow through and is now stuck open because you removed the power it would use to close. Reconnecting the battery would close the solenoid and make it electronic again. Please contact us back for any further questions or concerns. Best Regards, Nicole

Does this model have a cartridge to replace. Mine Is dripping and hard to shut off completely if not in an exact position

Asked by: Cindy
Hi Cindy, Thanks so much for contacting Delta Faucet Company! The LELAND® Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet MODEL#: 9178T-SP-DST uses the Cartridge DIAMOND™ Valve MODEL#: RP50587. Parts can be purchased online or locally. Please see our Where to Buy page for help finding dealers in your area or online. https://www.deltafaucet.com/where-to-buy It is possible that a flush could resolve this issue. To flush the supply line, first shut off the hot and cold-water supply. Remove the hot supply line from the shut-off valve and place the line into a bucket. Open the handle to the fully open middle position, and then turn the cold supply back on for one minute. The cold water should flow through the faucet and out of the hot supply tube. Reconnect the supply line and repeat with the second line. Please reach out with further questions! Best Regards, Kelley Digital Communications Specialist

How do you manual bypass the electronics?

Asked by: Don5
Hi Don5, thank you for your interest in the 9178T-SP-DST! For Kitchen Touch2O® faucets, there are a few ways to make them manual. 1. If you can get the water to flow, then the most universal option can be used. It does not matter which model or version for this method (excluding Pascal & flow). With the faucet running water, disconnect the battery pack by opening it. Or if you have an open battery tray, remove the batteries. You now have a manually operated faucet. The solenoid was open allowing water to flow through and is now stuck open because you removed the power it would use to close. Reconnecting the battery would close the solenoid and make it electronic again. Or 2. If the faucet is a later generation, the solenoid assembly may be removed, and the wand hose connected directly to the valve outlet tube. a. Open the battery holder cap. b. Disconnect the sensor hook(s) from the spout and/or valve shank. c. Remove the hose clip and hose from the solenoid. d. Remove the solenoid from the valve outlet tube by removing the clip or swinging the clip open. e. Reconnect the hose with the hose clip to the spout outlet nipple. Note: If the solenoid uses RP60520 adapter to connect to the valve outlet, for example, the early Trinsic®, Addison™, and Ashton® … the pullout hose can be connected directly to the valve outlet nipple, not the adapter. a. Open the battery holder cap. b. Disconnect the sensor hook(s) from the spout and/or valve shank. c. Remove the hose clip and hose. d. Remove the metal solenoid clip and solenoid. e. Remove the adapter from the valve outlet tube. The adapter must also be removed to reveal the valve outlet nipple. The hose cannot connect to the adapter. f. Reconnect the hose with the hose clip to the valve outlet nipple. The faucet is now a manually operated pullout or pulldown. Or 3. If the solenoid Generation 1 or 2, and operational enough, we can directly energize it open. This is the least preferred method. These directions are in the packaged instructions, using the battery pack to reverse the power to the solenoid momentarily. Please contact us directly if you have any questions or need additional assistance. Best Regards, Themar Digital Communications Specialist

Asked by: Jason

I installed a Delta 9178T-SP-DST faucet about 2 weeks ago. The faucet is working properly but has developed a squeak. This occurs when the faucet is turned off. I suppose it's the solenoid valve making the noise. Is this a problem?
