Very difficult to find the center warm position; either too hot, or with a very slight movement it is too cold. Also, the shut off position must be in the exact center to be off, otherwise it will drip. This design is very annoying. Disappointed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Difficult to completely turn off I have had this faucet 4 months and I despise it!!!!!! It is almost impossible to completely turn off. One must be exactly in the middle for it to completely stop running/dripping. Many times you must turn it on again or release the sprayer for it to completely turn off. Our old cheap faucet was more reliable when turning off completely without needing to stand over it and check to ensure there were not remaining dribbles.

I am very happy with it,however, after the install I notice a volume increase of the running water sound rushing when in use compared to the old faucet I had. It's somewhat annoying and don't know why that is. I wish that it would be more quiet.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not as good as they used to be. I have owned Delta kitchen faucets since 1970 on my personal house and my rentals. Delta was recommended to me because of the quality, and the ease of repair. I am disappointed with the new model. There are 2 things I really don’t like. First, when water is running through the faucet, it makes a noise that can be heard throughout the house through the pipes. It sounds cheap. Never had that with the one it replaced. Second, the faucet must be positioned precisely or it does not shut off. The old models, when you moved in the general direction of off, it would guide the handle to stop the flow. This new one, does not. In fact you must be very careful to make sure it is exactly centered. I am not at all impressed, and doubt that I will be buying another Delta.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excelent warranty excelent customer service Received this Faucet under warranty as repair parts were no longer available for my faucet looks excellent , fast install works well It has an anti scald device that doesn't work so well in the winter in Maine as my incoming well water comes in to the house @ 34 to 36 degrees so with the anti-scald on we get cool water , not good for washing dishes ,so I shut it off for the winter will turn it back in the spring Hot water was turned up to 150F still cool water now have hot water set @ normal 140F for dishwasher I guess this was not designed for such cold water would be nice if it were adjustable, not just on/ or off but a GREAT faucet

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Suggest design change I bought my two bathroom faucets a month ago and like the brand/model except for one thing. The handle to pull up the sink stopper hits the back tile wall when trying to pull up the handle. Something should be done to correct this situation.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Two back to back 400-DST faucet failures! On 11/16 my plumber installed a replacement kitchen faucet for the leaking very old faucet that was there. The next morning we looked under the sink and saw that whenever we used water there was a puddle under the faucet under the cabinet. It was determined that that faucet was defective and a 2nd 400-DST was installed Fri. 11/23. That too was leaking and had to be replaced. Today the problem was solved. It was replaced with a good quality Moen faucet. I had some Delta products previously installed in the house, but NO MORE after this hassle.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Replacing old Delta with new Delta I had the older style Delta single handle kitchen faucet with a ball and seats. I bought a new Delta 400 DST to replace it. I hate the new faucet!!!!!!!!! Do to the rounded base it dose not mount solid it rocks easy. It has very little water flow compared to my old Delta. I would put the old faucet back but my dad cracked the spout trying to hook up the dishwasher ( he did not know how ). Now I and stuck with this garbage faucet with little flow and it drips all the time.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cannot stop dripping Received this faucet as a replacement for an older Delta faucet about a year ago. The faucet will not stop dripping on the hot side, you have to make sure to turn off on cold side or it will constantly run or drip. I called and received a replacement cartridge about 3 months ago and now it still drips. This faucet is defective. When I called back for a replacement I was told I have to replace the cartridge again and see if that works. I am very disappointed. I have had a Delta faucet in a bathroom for 20 years with no problems. I guess I will have to purchase my faucets from another company in the future, as guaranteed for life does not hold true anymore.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easiest installation ever! I needed a replacement for old Moen kitchen sink faucet and decided to give Delta a try. The hardest part of the job was removing the old faucet. The large plastic mounting hand nuts installed with with my hands. The sprayer was even easier, pull out a plug, push in the end of the sprayer, flip a retainer and it is in. Glad I switched!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from After 10 years - Delta gets an A+++ [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I first purchased an early model of this faucet in 2008. The single handle, separate sprayer, brushed stainless steel finish, diamond seal technology valve, the lifetime warranty for the original owner, and the Delta name were the factors that led me to purchase this faucet. I installed it myself with no issues, and I am a retired engineer who appreciates quality design. After 10 years of ownership, I AM NOT DISSAPPOINTED. The finish still looks great and the faucet works like new. See the picture attached. I have had it start dripping twice in the 10 years and called Delta, who readily and happily sent me a new cartridge which restored it to new like condition. Replacing a cartridge is a 5 to 10 minute job. The last time I called Delta, Keith said Delta would send me a new bonnet nut in addition to the cartridge, no charge, just to be sure it does not start leaking at the base. My wife has been very happy with this faucet as well. How many reviews do you see for 10 year ownership? Not many I bet. I strongly recommend Delta faucets, especially with the diamond seal technology. I have no relationship with Delta and was not paid for this review. I hope this review helps you make your purchasing decision.

Is there a way to disable the sprayer hose for this faucet?

Hi, Nancy! Thank you for your question. The Delta 400-DST Faucet can be used without the sprayer assembly. To use the faucet without the hose attached, you will want to cap the end valve with the cap, part number RP54269. how do I install it,your instructions are confusing

Dear Diy Always, Thank you for your question. To install the Delta Classic Kitchen 400-DST faucet. You would first remove the old faucet. Remove the gasket from the old faucet and install it onto bottom of the new faucet. Next, feed tubes/shanks down through mounting hole in the sink. Secure faucet to sink with mounting nuts supplied with your faucet. Mount the spray support in far right hole of the sink. Hand tighten the mounting nut. Insert sprayer and hose down through support assembly. What is the thread size for the aerator?  Better to chose a different design if used with portable dishwasher?  Thanks

Hello Dwidemn, Thank you for your question regarding the Delta Classic Kitchen 400-DST faucet. This unit comes with a 5/16"-27 Male thread aerator. A portable dishwasher may be used with this model. However, it is up to the installer to adapt it and ensure a leak-free connection. Because the spout has an internal tube, water could leak below the sink. You may use the gasket from the aerator with the necessary adapter, but an additional gasket may be needed. Best regards, Tanya

Can I convert the DST 400 from an existing 3 hole installation to a 1 hole installation?

Faucet with cover plate covers 3 holes and sprayer uses 4th hole. I bought a water filtration system and need one of the 2 covered/unused holes for installation. I would like to re-use the existing faucet instead of buying a new one. I saw you sell RP51490. Can I buy this and just exchange it with the current 3 hole plate?

Hi tvirtualw, Thank you for your question. Unfortunately the escutceon plate on the model 400-DST cannot be removed and switched out to another escutcheon. We offer the 2 hole install 175-DST and the 3 hole install 300-DST faucets from the same Classic collection that would free up the extra hole. Thanks, Dave

I bought and installed this faucet about a month ago. The faucet drips in the neutral position, is there a simple fix for this?
