Rated 1 out of 5 by from Major design flaw with faucet Bought two 400-DST faucets. one on 4-5-2016, the other on 4-14-2016 to replace the first. The first faucet leaked considerably when we hooked up our portable dishwasher to the faucet. We originally thought it was a defective faucet. The hardware store thought the same thing and let me purchase another with the intension that I would return the defective one for a refund. But the second one did the same thing. I couldn't find any spec's on how much water pressure this faucet is rated for. Very disappointed. now I have to buy an different faucet and return two 400-DST faucets. They only leak when the dishwasher is connected and the system is charged. I followed the instructions for installation and even tried tightening the bonnet as per the instructions.

It had had a few repair kits over the years, but it was time to upgrade. I specifically asked my plumber for another Delta brand faucet. I'm overall very pleased.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to install and works well but the faucet base wobbles It was easy to install the Delta 400 DST kitchen faucet and it works well but the faucet base wobbles. Since it wobbles, water gets underneath the faucet base which causes water to leak under the sink.

I usually end up having to purchase addition parts. This faucet included everything I needed. Installation took about half an hour. We love the way it looks and performs. Very easy to keep clean since water spots don't show up. I definitely would buy Delta in the future.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Recent replacement part for side spray head & hose Basic faucet has been very good. For the 2nd time in 3 years the side spray hose & head has had to be replaced. It seems that the white plastic small disk fused to the end of the hose within the spray head has separated causing the hose to pull out of the head. This design should be improved to prevent this occurance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best looking faucet I've ever seen!!!! My husband (Contractor) & I put our faucet in 4/15/15. The delay was related to health issues; but we finally got it in! I use it the most as I am chief cook & bottle washer. I could NOT believe the difference!! I had uses the old faucet (installed in 1979) for 10 years and as a plumber's daughter I waited forever for this faucet!! The sprayer was held together with a window latch & packing tape!! That was for 5 years. But I love my new faucet! iIt is sleek & shiny and the sprayer works every time I need it!!! I hope I don't have to wait 10 years for the shower spray!!!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Feels Flimsy We replaced a 17 year old Delta Single Handle Kitchen Faucet because it had been repaired several times over the years and thought it best to replace it this time. Our new Delta 400-DST model is not sturdy at all. Any movement of the handle seems to cause the unit to rock. This faucet was installed by the same plumbers who had plumbed our entire house in 1998; we're sure it's installed correctly. Judging the quality between the old & new we will not be getting 17 years out of this unit. The quality has definitely declined over the years. We're now sorry we didn't have the old faucet repaired a third time.

Tightening the handle worked for a week or two, and then DRIP DRIP DRIP. I replaced the faucet with one from ACE Hardware and my faucet trouble are over.

Is there a way to disable the sprayer hose for this faucet?

Hi, Nancy! Thank you for your question. The Delta 400-DST Faucet can be used without the sprayer assembly. To use the faucet without the hose attached, you will want to cap the end valve with the cap, part number RP54269. Dear Diy Always, Thank you for your question. To install the Delta Classic Kitchen 400-DST faucet. You would first remove the old faucet. Remove the gasket from the old faucet and install it onto bottom of the new faucet. Next, feed tubes/shanks down through mounting hole in the sink. Secure faucet to sink with mounting nuts supplied with your faucet. Mount the spray support in far right hole of the sink. Hand tighten the mounting nut. Insert sprayer and hose down through support assembly. What is the thread size for the aerator?  Better to chose a different design if used with portable dishwasher?  Thanks

Hello Dwidemn, Thank you for your question regarding the Delta Classic Kitchen 400-DST faucet. This unit comes with a 5/16"-27 Male thread aerator. A portable dishwasher may be used with this model. However, it is up to the installer to adapt it and ensure a leak-free connection. Because the spout has an internal tube, water could leak below the sink. You may use the gasket from the aerator with the necessary adapter, but an additional gasket may be needed. Best regards, Tanya

Can I convert the DST 400 from an existing 3 hole installation to a 1 hole installation?

Faucet with cover plate covers 3 holes and sprayer uses 4th hole. I bought a water filtration system and need one of the 2 covered/unused holes for installation. I would like to re-use the existing faucet instead of buying a new one. I saw you sell RP51490. Can I buy this and just exchange it with the current 3 hole plate?

Hi tvirtualw, Thank you for your question. Unfortunately the escutceon plate on the model 400-DST cannot be removed and switched out to another escutcheon. We offer the 2 hole install 175-DST and the 3 hole install 300-DST faucets from the same Classic collection that would free up the extra hole. Thanks, Dave

I bought and installed this faucet about a month ago. The faucet drips in the neutral position, is there a simple fix for this?
