D9159ARDST We just moved into our brand new house a month ago and from the first day we have had problems with both Delta Trinsic Faucets in the kitchen and the laundry room. They are the same model. We cannot get any cold water from the faucet or it is always lukewarm when set to cold but might go back and forth from cold for and few short seconds and then back to warm. We have other Delta Trinsic Faucets in 2 other baths and for our showers as well and do not have this problem. It is isolated to the two same model faucets in the kitchen and laundry. The Plumber cannot figure it out. We tried turning off the hot water recirculater and that did not help. So it has to be the faucet. I’ve read that the cartridge could be bad or misaligned. Could this be the problem? Would really like to figure this out to be able to have cold running water in the kitchen and laundry sinks.

I called Delta service, they were very supportive, and offered to send the replacement part free of charge, under warranty. I’m very glad I called, instead of trying to buy the replacement part somewhere in the aftermarket world. The hose started leaking recently, and I could not find a replacement part online. Rated 3 out of 5 by from Beautiful but lever is very stiff I just installed this faucet and I love the look. The pull-down works great and it swivels smoothly from side to side. But there is one thing that stops me from giving this a perfect 5 stars and that is how difficult it is to turn it on and off and change from cold to hot. The lever is so stiff that it behaves as if something inside is too tight or not lubricated. I expected the lever to move smoothly, but it actually takes some arm muscle strength to change it to any position. I feel as though the force it requires may break something. I wish I wasn't so disappointed because I really like the way this faucet looks. But honestly if I knew it was going to be this difficult to operate I would have chosen something different.

After 4 years of use, the faucet looks like new and the "MagnaTite Docking" system works as well as it did on Day 1. I'm moving soon and plan to buy another one to replace the faucet in the new house. I give it my highest 5 star recommendation. Thank you Delta!

The only drawback is that, as a lefty, the handle is on the wrong side and requires an awkward cross arm move to turn it on and off. It would be nice if you could order one with the control on the other side.

This faucet was pricey and above my threshold until I couldn't find any other reputable brands with this color. Shows a lot of finger prints and the pull down sprayer part is plastic so the finish better hold up. Hopefully the flow stays up, but assuming the flow restrictors will get clogged. Overall a good product, but should be for the price. Looks very nice and is definitely a finishing touch to kitchen.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Snazzy but temperamental (touch-less) I used the touch-less brushed stainless model for a remodel project and it looks terrific with the black granite composite sink we installed. The faucet is a good size and is well made. The touchless option is great for saving water but it takes some getting used to and can be temperamental. We haven't had to call Delta yet, but I suspect that it will go down at some point. However, it's pretty cool technology and the faucet is beautiful and well made. You can't beat the lifetime warranty.

I’m an interior designer and have used this faucet in clients homes as well as most recently in my own home. The sprayer portion blends in so the overall faucet maintains a minimal, sleek appearance which I love.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Meets my expectations... I waited about a month to write this review. I know that sometimes I get caught up in the euphoria of any new purchase. Well, first of all, this is just a faucet, but a faucet we use dozens of times per day. It replaced a 25 year old "not" Delta kitchen faucet. I still remember the pain of the installation 25 years ago. This Delta faucet was so simple to install that it took me longer to remove the old one than to install this one. Also we were changing the configuration of our sink and removing the old separate sprayer and replacing it with a small filtered water faucet. I was concerned about compatibility with the plumbing for the Delta, but again everything went perfectly. Now the functionality - it took 5 minutes to become acclimated to the magnetic retainer for the sprayer the sprayer control and the new handle. The finish is very nice and the workmanship perfect. If there is one compliant it does take longer for the hot water to arrive at the faucet since this one has a lot lower flow rate than the old one. The hot water supply is a about 30 feet of plumbing from this faucet. Overall I have high standards for items like this since it is expensive but so far it has met my expectations.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Leaking faucet! Avoid at all cost Avoid at all cost. There is a design flaw in this faucet. Many reviewers are experiencing the same problem. The pvc pipe and pull-out pipe will leak and you don't even notice that because all those things are behind your sink. We didn't catch that until my kitchen floor is damaged by water. In addition to that the pull out sprout magnets are also lose. You have to tilt it in certain angel to avoid pulling the other piece of magnets out of the hose (which suppose to stay in the hose all the time). Total junk for hundreds of dollars. I won't trust delta product anymore.

I love the faucet. The magnetic docking action is crisp, the retractable hose pulls evenly, the spray function is useful for cleaning the sink and the overall look is very attractive.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This faucet has driven me to the brink of insanity We have had this faucet for a little over three years now. When we first purchased this it sounded perfect, if your hands are dirty just touch the faucet with your elbow or arm or back of hand without dirtying the faucet itself.... genius! If only it were that simple. The faucet started malfunctioning very early on. Stopped responding to touch / got stuck in the off position so the water could not be turned on any longer. Delta was nice enough to offer a replacement for the solenoid - the part that was malfunctioning. I replaced it once it arrived and thought my problems were solved. They were.... for about two months. Then it started malfunctioning again. Delta again sends another replacement for the solenoid. Problem solved.... again for about two to three months when once again, you guessed it! It stops working. Again. It always seems to stop working right in the middle of either meal prep or dish washing. You have to uninstall the solenoid in order to get water flowing each time this happens. I have had the water turn on by itself wasting tons of water until we noticed the water running in the kitchen, it turns itself MUCH more frequently - in the middle of washing hands, washing dishes, etc..... it is maddening. When we paid $600.00 we thought it would be top of the line, that it would work forever (well at least longer than three years!). I have once again today removed the solenoid as it no longer works - AGAIN! Get it together, Delta.... we should not pay such high prices for a lemon of a faucet. To top things off, the faucet now gets stuck in between the spray / flow setting so pressure is down now too unless you hold the button down while using it. UGH.

We saw the larger version and were quite impressed however it was going to overpower the area we wanted to place it - to find a smaller version was great. Works perfectly!

Someone responded that the sprayer is plastic. Are they saying that the pull out section (like the last 2 inches on the faucet) is plastic or do they mean the inside assembly of the sprayer is plastic. Also, is the water aerated?

i purchased this model about 2 years ago. roughly 6 months ago the faucet started to make a pounding noise when the hot water is openned up then the hot water will shut off byitself.This is the only faucet in the house that does this.

Hi, Thank you for contacting us. We apologize for any inconvenience. We are more than happy to help you. Reduced flow or no flow is typically caused by debris. If only one side is affected, there is debris in the supply line. To flush the supply line, first shut off the hot and cold water supply. Remove the hot supply line from the shut off valve and place the line into a bucket. Open the handle to the middle position, then fully open, then turn the cold supply back on for one minute. The cold water should flow through the faucet and out the hot supply tube. Reconnect the supply line and turn on both supplies. Check flow from the faucet. If this does not help, please let us know. Thank you for your question. The Delta Trinsic Pull-Down Kitchen 9159-DST faucet has a flow rate of 1.8 GPM at 60 PSI, this flow is not designed to be reduced. What is the maximum thickness of counter for this faucet?

On page 4 of the install instructions it says the max thickness for the counter top is 3" but on the web page it says 2.5". If it is 2.5" is there an extension/spacer of some kind available so it could be used with a counter top 2.75" thick?
