Rated 5 out of 5 by from love this faucet I started with the same faucet design in a different finish. Then when getting new countertops, we switched to a stainless steel sink. I was happy to find the same faucet in a finish which paired with my new sink.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not Satisfied and it's a Waste of Money. The faucet had a modern design. Unfortunately, when I installed the faucet I was surprised the way the Standard Flow of water was very "LOW". I do not know what's wrong with my new faucet.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn’t last long Needed a new cartridge after a year. Delta said they would only supply 1 for the life of the faucet. A year later the new one is failing and the screw to remove the handle to replace the $50 cartridge has seized so the faucet need to be replaced. Garbage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Cut Above Great faucet, so easy to maneuver, love the bronze color. Also have the soap dispenser, and a lot of new faucets do not come with soap dispensers, and if you have had a previous one that could be a problem. I can definitely tell it is well made and worth the additional money we spent. You can shop the big box stores but their faucets will all be builder grade (low end). Kick it up a notch or two or three and go with a faucet that’s going to perform better and longer.

Q&A

Is there a matching filtered water tap?

I am looking for a recommendation of a separate water tap for filtered water that matches the "Arctic Stainless" finish. What would you recommend?
Asked by: Anne
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet offers two different styles of beverage faucets in the Artic Stainless finish. Delta Faucet model # 1914-AR-DST is a tradtional faucet and Delta Faucet model # 1977-AR-DST is a transitional faucet.

What is Arctic Stainless and how is it different from spotless stainless?

Asked by: Susan
Thank you for your question, Susan! Arctic Stainless reflects the trend toward cooler toned kitchen appliances and is evident in the slightly blue hue as opposed to our Stainless Steel finish which has a warmer color. Best regards, Edward

are the valves ceramic, the spray head metal... the button, plastic or metal? and, no "electronics"? shopping online, I find not all of the features are made clear... I like the look and has good reviews... please don't use this as an excuse to spam...

Asked by: Wednesday
Thank you for your question, Wednesday! We apologize for any confusion and are happy to clarify. This is the standard, non-electronic or "Touch Activated" version of the Leland Kitchen Faucet that uses a ceramic Diamond Seal Technology cartridge. The spray assembly is non-metallic as is the button but this does include ShieldSpray Technology. https://www.deltafaucet.com/design-innovation/innovations/kitchen/shieldspray Best regards, Edward

How do I remove the aerator from the Leland Single Handle Pull Down Kitchen Faucet? Our well pump was replaced and I can't see how to get the screen out to clean it. Thank you.

Asked by: Bonnie
Thank you for your question, Bonnie! The Delta model 9178-DST does have a removable aerator however it will require the aerator wrench that was supplied with the faucet. Please see the part diagram below for reference. https://media.deltafaucet.com/PartsDiagram/DPD-K-9178-DST.pdf Best regards, Edward

Looks like there is a swivel at base of faucet. So do you pull the handle out for on, toward you for cold and away from you for hot? How much clearance do you need at the back to turn hot fully on so the handle doesnt hit wall or backsplash behind it.

Asked by: GAGG
Hi, GGGA! Thank you for your question. The Delta 9178-AR-DST Faucet swivels 360 degrees at the high arc spout. The handle turns on and away from the faucet for cold and the handle turns back for hot water. We recommend a minimum 2 1/2" (64 mm) clearance to back splash. Best Regards, Rosanna

How do I get into the faucet to adjust the gear-like piece that adjusts the temperature? The water gets scalding hot.

All our other faucets in our house don't get as hot as our kitchen. The cold water never really gets that cold either.
Asked by: Charlotte
Hi Charlotte, Thank you for your question. To adjust the Handle Limit Stop, remove the red/blue button, loosen the set screw with an 1/8" Allen wrench, and pull off the handle. The red switch on the top of the cartridge can be flipped to the right to limit the range of the handle on the hot side. While this can be done without turning off the water supply, we recommend to turn them before disassembling the faucet. Best regards, Jon

What is the difference between the "Arctic Stainless" and "Stainless" finish? Are both products made of stainless steel? Is one more durable?

Asked by: alevine
Hi Alevine, Thank you for your question. The Artic stainless finish will have a blue tint to it, while the stainless steel will have a gold tint. Both finishes are durable and warrantied for the life of the faucet to the original purchaser. The faucets are finished in stainless steel, not made of stainless. Thanks, Dave

Pull down sprayer

Does this model have or do any delta pull-down faucets (with the magnetic feature) also have a sprayer that has an on-off button? What I'm looking for is a pull-down which has both the magnetic feature AND spray with on-off switch and aeration options. Thanks.
Asked by: BVK
The Leland faucet has a selector switch for aerated spray or full...and the spray isn't a wide spray meaning it's very controlable even when not pulled out of the magnetic base. Included in the box is a tool for removing the aerator portion for cleaning of calcium/lime deposits. Suggest using vinegar for the disolving of these deposits and not a "lime away" type chemical. I don't know if the finish would be harmed by the "lime away" product but I'm not willing to experiment.

Faucet will not retract

Just installed this faucet but the sprayer will not retract without me physically putting it back in. Magnet is on the hose but isn't pulling sprayer head back up.
Asked by: eugenia512
Dear Eugenia512, Thank you for your question. The Hose assembly of the Delta Leland Kitchen Pull-Down 9178-DST faucet, is design as self retracting. You would need to push the wand back up towards the spout assembly. The faucet does have a MagnaTite docking wand/sprayer assembly. There is a magnet on the top side of the sprayer and another one inside the end of the spout, that locked together to hold the sprayer in place. Best regards, Tanya

Finish protection for arctic stainless

Is there any protective finish that can be used for the arctic stainless (Leland)? Wax or a synthetic coating?
Asked by: aclmark
Dear Aclmark, Thank you for your question. Delta does not recommend and advises that no polishes or coatings should be used on any of our finishes. The cleaning care directions from the warranty states: Always blot dry any water from faucet surface. Allowing water to evaporate on the surface can lead to build up of mineral deposits. Cleaning with a damp non-abrasive sponge and buffing it dry with a clean soft cloth should help keep your product looking beautiful. To remove water spots, use warm water and a soft, damp cloth. Hard water stains may be removed using a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water. Make certain that you rinse thoroughly with water afterward. If additional cleaning is required, all of our finishes may be cleaned with the following household cleaners: Formula 409® Antibacterial All Purpose Cleaner, Fantastik® All Purpose Cleaner, or Windex® Original Glass Cleaner, when used according to the manufacturers' instructions for use. Avoid using the following which can damage your finish: Avoid industrial cleaners and abrasive cleaners, such as those used for toilet bowls, green Scotch-Brite heavy duty scrub sponges, Scrubbing Bubbles Bathroom Cleaner and Lysol Basin Tub, Soft Scrub, and Tile Cleaner. Avoid products that state on the label that they remove tarnish and rust, and those containing hydrofluoric, hydrochloric and/or phosphoric acids and caustic agents. Avoid harsh abrasives, coatings and/or polishes. Avoid bleach-based cleaners. Best regards, Tanya
