The faucet had a modern design. Unfortunately, when I installed the faucet I was surprised the way the Standard Flow of water was very "LOW". I do not know what's wrong with my new faucet.

Doesn’t last long
Needed a new cartridge after a year. Delta said they would only supply 1 for the life of the faucet. A year later the new one is failing and the screw to remove the handle to replace the $50 cartridge has seized so the faucet need to be replaced. Garbage.

A Cut Above
Great faucet, so easy to maneuver, love the bronze color. Also have the soap dispenser, and a lot of new faucets do not come with soap dispensers, and if you have had a previous one that could be a problem. I can definitely tell it is well made and worth the additional money we spent. You can shop the big box stores but their faucets will all be builder grade (low end). Kick it up a notch or two or three and go with a faucet that’s going to perform better and longer.

Q&A
The water flow has decreased from when I first installed it. It's been in about 6 months. I removed and cleaned the aerator screen but not much in there. A previous post said remove the wand and check for debris. What wand do you mean? How do you flush?

Thank you for your question, and I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing low flow for your Delta 9178-DST faucet. The wand we are referring to is the retractable sprayer assembly at the spout. This can be removed from the hose and can be soaked in a solution of 50% white vinegar and 50% water to clean any debris that maybe causing the flow issue.

What is the difference between this model and the one you show that only sells at Home Depot?

There is no difference between models if you are purchasing the same model number however a retail exclusive model will designate if that retailer is allowed to sell that model in a specific finish, flow rate or in this case, with a specific feature such as the ShieldSpray technology whereas other may not.

I am having an issue with the faucet shutting off. I have to play with the handle until I get it to a specific spot. This just started happening after two years.

Thank you for your question, and I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing a leak from your Delta faucet. There is a bonnet nut that is holding the cartridge down, underneath your handle. We recommend to tighten the bonnet nut to stop the leak. To do this, turn the water off at your shut off valve. Remove the handle. Tighten the bonnet by turning clockwise, to the right. Install the handle back on and turn the water back on. Test the faucet. If the faucet still leaks, we recommend to replace both the valve cartridge assembly, RP50587, and the bonnet nut, RP51503.

Reversibility
The staff’s answer to the question of installing the Delta 9178 SS DST backwards so the handle is on the left says the logo will be facing the back. There is no logo showing on the Delta website photo of the faucet. Also, do I assume correctly that this reversibility to the Delta 9178 AR DST as well since the "AR" refers to the finish?

The 9178-AR-DST ( Arctic Stainless Steel finish) has the Delta name engraved on the bottom of the spout where it swivels. The faucet can be installed with the handle facing the left hand side. Please keep in mind that will change the operation of the handle.

The Leland is a single hole faucet. You could use a soap dispenser or a hole cover in place of the sparyer hole.

I recently installed the Delta 9178-AR-DST. The hot water from the faucet is not working but works in the rest of the house. Is there a social feature I have to override to heat the water? Everything is connected in the right place so I am at loss...help!

This is a small button located on the cartridge itself and can restrict the handle movement from cold to luke-warm only. My counter top has two holes in it, 1 large & 1 small. One is for the faucet & the other for the sprayer. Will I be able to install the Model 9178-RB-DST in it & have the deck plate cover the smaller hole? If no, can you suggest a different model number?

What parts are needed for a sinkage hole installation?
We installed this faucet with a base plate to cover pre-drilled holes. We are remodeling with granite countertops and want a single hole installation. We no longer have the box or other parts. What do we need to install this properly? Is an adapter needed?
the multi use wrench which is supplied with the faucet is the only tool you will need for installation. if you install the faucet before the sink is set in place you will have an easier time installing the faucet with or w/o the wrench.

Does the screen come off so you can clean out the little flecks of rust?
Hi Kim, Thank you for your question. The cache aerator on the wand of your model 9178-DST is removeable. The faucet shipped with a small blue t-shaped wrench that will help unscrew the aerator. If you do not have the wrench it can be orderd as RP50815.

Th sprayer head will not stay up because the magnet has rusted and broke off and the hose looks rusty also , we have had this a good many years and I understanding it had a lifetime warranty

When the spray mode is on, I understand from previous questions that it stays on until it is changed. Is this true if the faucet is turned off while in spray mode? Will the faucet remain in spray mode when the faucet is turned on again?

bjgaudet · 2 years ago I have a Leland 9178-ar-dst faucet that when using the single stream is leaks around the edge and has leaked since just after it was installed less than a year ago.
We only have the 9178-SP-DST for a little over a month and the water pressure seems to have greatly decreased on all 3 positions. What is causing our problem?

Debris is usually the main cause of low flow on a Delta faucet. We recommend flushing the supply lines and valve, as well as soaking the wand head in a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water.

I have the Leland 9178 AR DST, same issue as another person on this Q&A. When running the water on a normal stream water leaks out of the side of the head where the spray would come out. I press the button to correct but doesn't really hold & leaks again.
I have this faucet and have loved it for years. I need to replace the cartridge because it has a small leak. I have the correct 1/8th allen wrench that came with it. However the screw got stripped so I can't remove it. What advice do you have to help me?
