Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality product I purchased this a little while ago for a counter and sink remodel. I spent quite a bit of time sorting through reviews and finally came back to Delta. I’ve had Delta products exclusively in my home for 28 years and they have stood behind every faucet I own. This faucet has great extension for our oversized sink, and the pressures are spot on for filling pots, rinsing loose food and the spot high pressure jet with the spray shield works really well too. Installation keeps getting easier, I literally installed this in less than 10 minutes. No leaks and well thought out. I passed on several “commercial” style units because they look good when they aren’t in use, but lack in many areas during use. I’m picky on a focal piece of plumbing and I am happy to say this has met all my needs and expectations.

The Shieldspray Technology is awesome and the Spotshield Stainless finish is beautiful (no water spots and very smooth finish). I'm not sure about the Touch-clean Spray Hole technology -- I don't see anything happen with the "touch of a finger".

We did the research and found this one to be among the highest recommended for our price point and, even though we had to wait a few extra weeks for assembly (covid related), we are super happy with the purchase. Only wish it had come with a matching soap dispenser.

The whole fixture is a little massive but well built is seems. Being a new owner, I can't comment on reliability or the finish holding up. I like the different spray options and the length of the pull out.

The high sweeping faucet allows large pans to fit easily under for filling or cleaning. The finish is easy to clean and does show spots.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smooth Action I bought the faucet based on its high rating, to replace one that I had first installed in our recently remodeled kitchen. It's handle was stiffening up after less than 6 months of use. Installation was fairly easy, though the PEX supply lines are quite stiff. Once in place it looks great; a good match for our new stainless steel appliances. Full water flow seems greater than with the old unit, and the handle action is super smooth. Looking forward to many years of reliable service.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great start, and then downhill I bought this in May, installed it and initially it worked flawlessly. In the last month, the action on the handle has deteriorated. When pulling from cold to off, the handle now "squeeks" and has an audible and wonky, uneven motion when closing the valve. It seems way too early for a maintenance issue with a brand new faucet but something isn't right with this Delta model.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from This Faucet is Great...EXCEPT... This faucet is great EXCEPT two things. 1) The magnet has COMPLETELY RUSTED out in a little under four years. So, the faucet doesn't fit flush to the mount anymore. It is disappointing that Delta would manufacture a product that has constant contact with water without a barrier or seal for the magnet. Now, I'm constantly wiping rusted metal dust from around the faucet head. Even more disappointing is the fact that the replacement magnet is $43! That's completely overpriced for such a small component. Additionally, the limited lifetime warranty only applies to faucets purchased after 1/1/2019. It's as if Delta knows the part will FAIL. So, it started offering the warranty. 2) No matter how much I tighten the nut on the faucet, it leaks unless you position the handle a certain way. Very annoying. Delta...I used to appreciate the quality of your products. However, after owning this particular faucet, I now question it. I now have serious reservations about purchasing another Delta faucet as a replacement or recommending the faucet to any builders. The only reason I gave it three stars and not one is because I liked the faucet when it worked. I really expected better, Delta. This recent experience has been truly disappointing.

I see where you have answered the question about the difference between Model 9178 and 9678. What is the difference between those and Model 19978?

Hello Kathy 61, Thank you for your question. The Delta Leland Pull-Down 19978-SS-DST faucet is a Home Depot exclusive model and it is similar to the Leland 9178-AR-DST faucet. fawcet is leaking do you have repair kit

Hi, tttt! Thank you for your question, and I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing a leak from your Delta faucet. There is a bonnet nut that is holding the cartridge down, underneath your handle. We recommend to tighten the bonnet nut to stop the leak. To do this, turn the water off at your shut off valve. Remove the handle. Pull the cartridge out to clean the bottom puck of the cartridge. Reinstall the cartridge assembly. Tighten the bonnet by turning clockwise, to the right. Install the handle back on and turn the water back on. Test the faucet. If the faucet still leaks, we recommend to replace both the valve cartridge assembly, RP50587, and the bonnet nut, RP51503. What is the tubing for the pull-out spray made of? I am concerned about the materials as the drinking water is now being consumed from this spray.

I have the Delta Leland touch faucet 9178 TAR DST. Can it still work when the batteries go dead

Hi LID, Thank you for your question! The light will flash red when the batteries are low. You can remove the batteries while the water is running to switch to manual mode. You can also turn the faucet off with the handle, disconnect the solenoid, and connect the hose directly to the faucet to bypass the solenoid. Best regards, Jon

Is there a method to keep the Leland faucet centered on the plate provided to cover the extra sink holes? Mine keeps sliding all over the place leaving a gaping grin were it fits onto the cover plate.

I plan to replace my kitchen faucet with the Leland 9178-AR-DST. The 9178 spec sheet indicates that the temperature handle movement is from centerline of the body away from the sink. The Q&A seems to contradict this. Please clarify?

Hello TomA1, Thank you for your question. The handle of the Delta Leland Pull-down Kitchen 9178-AR-DST faucet operates by moving/pushing it away/outwards from the faucet to turn on the cold water. Rotating the handle towards the back to adjust for warm and hot water. Best regards, Tanya
