Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nicely finished kitchen faucet with a nice style to it. We love this faucet so far, only have had it installed for a month but it works just like we wanted and the pull down spray feature is simple to use. We did not go with the Touch2Go electronic features out of concern over the long term. However, the warranty covers this for 5 years and the rest of the functions for "life". Note this is for life of the original purchaser - which we are - some people end up thinking the warranty is for ever - wrong. We had a lever kitchen faucet from another manufacture that was also for life, and over the 17 years we owned that faucet before moving - we installed several ceramic valves. Normal. We notice that the valve in the Delta is of a different design. Will let you know in another 17 years if we have any problems with this faucet. Side note - the magnetic pull down feature recommends that you twist the sprayer about 90 degrees when it releases much nicer than just pulling the sprayer down. Also the spray function is very easy to use and to switch back to a stream function. Very nice design.

installation on a mica countertop w/farm sink

How far back from a farm sink would be a safe installation for this faucet on brand new mica counter tops?
Asked by: new kitchen
new kitchen, Thank you for your question. The spout extends 9 1/4" from the center of the faucet to the center of the aerator and we advise to allow 2 1/2" clearance to the backsplash. However, it is up to you to decide where to install the faucet in your installation. Please refer to the Technical Specifications for more measurements. https://media.deltafaucet.com/SpecSheet/DSP-K-19978-SD-DST%20Rev%20D.pdf Best regards, Jon

Is the faucet intentionally set to the return to the center automatically?

Asked by: daryl
Thank you for your question, Daryl. The spout is not designed to center automatically. Please check to make sure that the hose is not twisted or catching on anything below the sink and that the faucet is installed on a level surface. Best regards, Jon

Please give me advantages and disadvantages of the "Touch-Clean" spray holes?

Am I guessing that you can flex a rubber disk with holes in it to knock off water deposits? And is this disk less likely to last as long as a metal aperture plate? And is this disk replaceable by homeowner, or do I have to buy a whole new faucet?
Asked by: RiverCityKen
Dear RiverCityKen, Thank you for your inquiry! The wand assembly of the Delta Leland Pull-Down Kitchen 9178-SP-DST faucet has the Touch-Clean feature. This simply means you can rub your fingers over the nubs of the spray nozzle for cleaning. The design of the product makes removing deposits easier. Best regards, Tanya

Can I change the faucet handle from the right side to the left side myself? How do I do it?

Asked by: Ken
Thank you for your question, Ken! We recommend installing this faucet with the handle on the right. You may install it with the handle on the front or left side, but the temperature adjustment will be opposite of the standard operation for single handle faucets. You can compensate for this by swapping the hot and cold supply lines under the sink. However, the red/blue button will no longer indicate the correct temperature. Best regards, Jon

I have the Delta Leland touch faucet 9178 TAR DST. Can it still work when the batteries go dead

Asked by: LID
Hi LID, Thank you for your question! The light will flash red when the batteries are low. You can remove the batteries while the water is running to switch to manual mode. You can also turn the faucet off with the handle, disconnect the solenoid, and connect the hose directly to the faucet to bypass the solenoid. Best regards, Jon
