Rated 4 out of 5 by from Replacement Replaced same model that was 16 years old. Noticed some changes. Water comes out noisier. Replaced braided stainless steel hose with a rubber one. I hope it holds up as well as the previous one. The brushed nickel finish looks almost like stainless steel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from love this faucet I started with the same faucet design in a different finish. Then when getting new countertops, we switched to a stainless steel sink. I was happy to find the same faucet in a finish which paired with my new sink.

Q&A

I read most of the answers to the questions. If the handle assembly is metal, what material is inside ? Is this product considered a middle quality

or is this still low - end quality? How much price range do I set to look for a middle quality for single handle pull down/pull out kitchen faucet? How often do I change the washer? I didn't buy this yet. I am checking your homepage to see which one I would like to buy.
Asked by: haru chan
Hello Haru Chan, Thank you for your questions. The internal cartridge for this faucet is manufactured with plastic, but it is a high quality of plastic. The rest of the material this Delta faucet is made with is also of high quality material. Best Regards, Courtney

How do I remove the aerator from the Leland Single Handle Pull Down Kitchen Faucet? Our well pump was replaced and I can't see how to get the screen out to clean it. Thank you.

Where does it go? Not covered in the assembly instructions that I can find. Thank you.
Asked by: ls_5chevelle
Hi ls_5chevelle, Thank you for your question! This is the RP40530 hose guide. It is used to assist in the installation of the hose to keep it from catching. Simply insert it into the end of the hose, slide the hose through the faucet, then remove the guide. Best regards, Jon

Faucet will not retract

Just installed this faucet but the sprayer will not retract without me physically putting it back in. Magnet is on the hose but isn't pulling sprayer head back up.
Asked by: eugenia512
Dear Eugenia512, Thank you for your question. The Hose assembly of the Delta Leland Kitchen Pull-Down 9178-DST faucet, is design as self retracting. You would need to push the wand back up towards the spout assembly. The faucet does have a MagnaTite docking wand/sprayer assembly. There is a magnet on the top side of the sprayer and another one inside the end of the spout, that locked together to hold the sprayer in place. Best regards, Tanya

We would recommend removing the wand to check for debris as well as performing a flush of the faucet. I have emailed you directly about flushing your model. Please refer to that email for further assistance if checking the wand does not help with the flow. Best regards, Edward

cleaning sprayer assembly

Mineral build up causing low water pressure. How do I take apart and clean?
Asked by: Penny
Dear Penny, Thank you for your question. We do not recommend disassembling the sprayer assembly. To dissolve any sediment that may collect in the aerator or spray face, just soak the face of the spray assembly in a 50/50 or stronger mixture of white vinegar and tap water for 10 to 15 minutes. The large particles of debris are caught in the bottom end of the spray assembly, where it connects to the hose. Just unscrew the spray assembly from the hose assembly and flush the debris out with water from the hose. Best regards, Tanya

Can I change the faucet handle from the right side to the left side myself? How do I do it?

Asked by: Ken
Thank you for your question, Ken! We recommend installing this faucet with the handle on the right. You may install it with the handle on the front or left side, but the temperature adjustment will be opposite of the standard operation for single handle faucets. You can compensate for this by swapping the hot and cold supply lines under the sink. However, the red/blue button will no longer indicate the correct temperature. Best regards, Jon

Sprayer

Can you give me instructions for cleaning debris out of the sprayer? The pressure has greatly decreased in just a few weeks and I'm sure it is caused by some debris. I can't seem to get the washer out.
Asked by: Chris
Hi Chris, Thank you for your question. Your model 9178-DST faucet should come with a small t handle wrench to remove the aerator. This wrench comes as a replacement part RP50815. You can soak the aerator and wand in a 50/50 solution of vinegar and water to help break down the mineral build up. Thanks, Dave

The water flow has decreased from when I first installed it. It's been in about 6 months. I removed and cleaned the aerator screen but not much in there. A previous post said remove the wand and check for debris. What wand do you mean? How do you flush?

Asked by: PhilM
Hi, PhilM! Thank you for your question, and I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing low flow for your Delta 9178-DST faucet. The wand we are referring to is the retractable sprayer assembly at the spout. This can be removed from the hose and can be soaked in a solution of 50% white vinegar and 50% water to clean any debris that maybe causing the flow issue. Best Regards, Rosanna

What parts are needed for a sinkage hole installation?

We installed this faucet with a base plate to cover pre-drilled holes. We are remodeling with granite countertops and want a single hole installation. We no longer have the box or other parts. What do we need to install this properly? Is an adapter needed?
Asked by: Kristin
the multi use wrench which is supplied with the faucet is the only tool you will need for installation. if you install the faucet before the sink is set in place you will have an easier time installing the faucet with or w/o the wrench.

The spec indicates a min clearance of 2.5 inches from center of hole for faucet to backsplash. I only have 2 inches.  Why is 2.5 inches needed since the handle goes forward and not back? Will 2 inches work?

Asked by: Bridget
Thank you for your question, Bridget! The minimum clearance to the back splash is typically suggested for lavatory models with lift rods or for models where the handle does reach backwards. This is still suggested for maximum comfort and ease of use with the handle; however this model can still work with only 2". Best regards, Edward

fawcet is leaking do you have repair kit

Asked by: tttt
Hi, tttt! Thank you for your question, and I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing a leak from your Delta faucet. There is a bonnet nut that is holding the cartridge down, underneath your handle. We recommend to tighten the bonnet nut to stop the leak. To do this, turn the water off at your shut off valve. Remove the handle. Pull the cartridge out to clean the bottom puck of the cartridge. Reinstall the cartridge assembly. Tighten the bonnet by turning clockwise, to the right. Install the handle back on and turn the water back on. Test the faucet. If the faucet still leaks, we recommend to replace both the valve cartridge assembly, RP50587, and the bonnet nut, RP51503. Best Regards, Rosanna

Asked by: Cathy
Thank you for your question, Cathy! This Leland model included a cashe aerator wrench, part number RP50815 that is used to remove this aerator counterclockwise. It is designed to clip onto the Pex supply line below the counter but a pair of needle nose pliers may be carefully used in its place.
