Replacement
Replaced same model that was 16 years old. Noticed some changes. Water comes out noisier. Replaced braided stainless steel hose with a rubber one. I hope it holds up as well as the previous one. The brushed nickel finish looks almost like stainless steel.

The faucet had a modern design. Unfortunately, when I installed the faucet I was surprised the way the Standard Flow of water was very "LOW". I do not know what's wrong with my new faucet.

Ok for a while, but doesn't last
Started out ok, but over time it didn't age well. The cartridge needs replaced repeatedly and only lasts maybe a year before it starts leaking again. The finish (as you can see in the photos) didn't last at all on the venetian bronze finish. The connection to the pull down sprayer is rusting.

Worked well for a while, but didn't last
I've owned this faucet for 13 years and at first it worked well. Magnetic docking of pull-down spray is a nice feature, but the magnet has rusted over time. The valves don't last very long. I've probably installed 4 or 5 valve body's in this. It fails the same way every time, when it starts leaking when in the down/off position. You have to rotate the handle in a circle left or right to get it find the sweet spot where it actually shuts off. The finish on both the handle and the top of the spout is basically gone. It didn't last more than 5 years in daily use. At this point I'm sick of replacing valves and will likely replace the entire faucet, unless Delta will "warranty" it.

Doesn’t last long
Needed a new cartridge after a year. Delta said they would only supply 1 for the life of the faucet. A year later the new one is failing and the screw to remove the handle to replace the $50 cartridge has seized so the faucet need to be replaced. Garbage.

Thanks for your question. Delta Faucet model # 978-SSSD-DST can have the soap dispenser, handle and spout in any order that you would like to choose. Also the white gasket will go under the spout.

We live in an area with a lot of minerals in our water. I would like to replace the entire faucet head piece; however, the tubes, faucet structure, weights and magnet are all fine. How can I go about ordering only a replacement faucet head?

Looks like there is a swivel at base of faucet. So do you pull the handle out for on, toward you for cold and away from you for hot? How much clearance do you need at the back to turn hot fully on so the handle doesnt hit wall or backsplash behind it.

Thank you for your question. The Delta 9178-AR-DST Faucet swivels 360 degrees at the high arc spout. The handle turns on and away from the faucet for cold and the handle turns back for hot water. We recommend a minimum 2 1/2" (64 mm) clearance to back splash.

How do I get into the faucet to adjust the gear-like piece that adjusts the temperature? The water gets scalding hot.
All our other faucets in our house don't get as hot as our kitchen. The cold water never really gets that cold either.

Thank you for your question. To adjust the Handle Limit Stop, remove the red/blue button, loosen the set screw with an 1/8" Allen wrench, and pull off the handle. The red switch on the top of the cartridge can be flipped to the right to limit the range of the handle on the hot side.
While this can be done without turning off the water supply, we recommend to turn them before disassembling the faucet.

What is the difference between the "Arctic Stainless" and "Stainless" finish? Are both products made of stainless steel? Is one more durable?

Thank you for your question. The Artic stainless finish will have a blue tint to it, while the stainless steel will have a gold tint. Both finishes are durable and warrantied for the life of the faucet to the original purchaser. The faucets are finished in stainless steel, not made of stainless.

Thank you for your question. The sprayer assembly for the Delta 978-RB-DST Faucet can be removed by unscrewing counter clockwise at the hose connection by hand. Reinstall the new sprayer assembly by screwing the sprayer clockwise.

Pull down sprayer
Does this model have or do any delta pull-down faucets (with the magnetic feature) also have a sprayer that has an on-off button? What I'm looking for is a pull-down which has both the magnetic feature AND spray with on-off switch and aeration options. Thanks.
The Leland faucet has a selector switch for aerated spray or full...and the spray isn't a wide spray meaning it's very controlable even when not pulled out of the magnetic base. Included in the box is a tool for removing the aerator portion for cleaning of calcium/lime deposits. Suggest using vinegar for the disolving of these deposits and not a "lime away" type chemical. I don't know if the finish would be harmed by the "lime away" product but I'm not willing to experiment.

Thank you for your question! This is the RP40530 hose guide. It is used to assist in the installation of the hose to keep it from catching. Simply insert it into the end of the hose, slide the hose through the faucet, then remove the guide.

Faucet will not retract
Just installed this faucet but the sprayer will not retract without me physically putting it back in. Magnet is on the hose but isn't pulling sprayer head back up.

Thank you for your question. The Hose assembly of the Delta Leland Kitchen Pull-Down 9178-DST faucet, is design as self retracting. You would need to push the wand back up towards the spout assembly. The faucet does have a MagnaTite docking wand/sprayer assembly. There is a magnet on the top side of the sprayer and another one inside the end of the spout, that locked together to hold the sprayer in place.

How does this faucet (model 9678-SP-DST) differ from model 9178-AR-DST/? They seem to be identical.

Model 9678-SP-DS is the Bar/Prep version of the Leland kitchen faucet. 9178-AR-DST is the kitchen version in the Arctic Stainless finish whereas "SP" indicates the SpotShield Stainless finish. Both models are similar, however the bar prep version is shorter at 14 1/2" (368 mm) high whereas the kitchen faucet measures 14-7/8"(378 mm) high.

Why is the water pressure so much lower with this new faucet and how can I fix that?

Is the pull-down hose long enough for farm sink?
What is the length of the pull-down hose? Is the pull-down hose long enough to reach the bottom and all corners of a farm sink (Kohler Undermount Farm Sink, 9.625" D, 21.625" W, 32.6875" L)?

Does the RP53998 2.2gpm aerator fit this faucet?
An answer for the very similar 9178-RB-DST said "The model 9178-RB-DST comes with an aerator with a flow rate of 1.8 gpm. You can order RP53998 which is a 2.2 gpm aerator to raise the flow rate for this particular model."

Using the sprayer
When using the sprayer is there any side splatter or does the spray pretty much stay confined to the nozzle direction?
