Rated 5 out of 5 by from Delta faucets!! I just had this installed in my kitchen with a matching island sink faucet and I love them! Delta is the best!
Date published: 2026-05-05
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Replacement Replaced same model that was 16 years old. Noticed some changes. Water comes out noisier. Replaced braided stainless steel hose with a rubber one. I hope it holds up as well as the previous one. The brushed nickel finish looks almost like stainless steel.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to use and high quality. Plumber installing had to go get an extra part ($). The only thing we don't love is that the extended nozzle needs a real push to get back in the faucet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great features I love my new faucet. Hands down, it makes daily cooking easy and was easy to install. I really appreciate the customer service I received with this product. Thank you
Date published: 2026-02-21
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not Satisfied and it's a Waste of Money. The faucet had a modern design. Unfortunately, when I installed the faucet I was surprised the way the Standard Flow of water was very "LOW". I do not know what's wrong with my new faucet.
Date published: 2026-01-25
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Ok for a while, but doesn't last Started out ok, but over time it didn't age well. The cartridge needs replaced repeatedly and only lasts maybe a year before it starts leaking again. The finish (as you can see in the photos) didn't last at all on the venetian bronze finish. The connection to the pull down sprayer is rusting.
Date published: 2026-01-08
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Worked well for a while, but didn't last I've owned this faucet for 13 years and at first it worked well. Magnetic docking of pull-down spray is a nice feature, but the magnet has rusted over time. The valves don't last very long. I've probably installed 4 or 5 valve body's in this. It fails the same way every time, when it starts leaking when in the down/off position. You have to rotate the handle in a circle left or right to get it find the sweet spot where it actually shuts off. The finish on both the handle and the top of the spout is basically gone. It didn't last more than 5 years in daily use. At this point I'm sick of replacing valves and will likely replace the entire faucet, unless Delta will "warranty" it.
Date published: 2026-01-07
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn’t last long Needed a new cartridge after a year. Delta said they would only supply 1 for the life of the faucet. A year later the new one is failing and the screw to remove the handle to replace the $50 cartridge has seized so the faucet need to be replaced. Garbage.

Q&A

My counter top has two holes in it, 1 large & 1 small. One is for the faucet & the other for the sprayer. Will I be able to install the Model 9178-RB-DST in it & have the deck plate cover the smaller hole? If no, can you suggest a different model number?

Asked by: Kitchen Faucet
Hi, Kitchen Faucet! Thank you for your question. We recommend to check the technical specifications sheet for measurements to verify if this faucet will fit in your sink: https://media.deltafaucet.com/SpecSheet/DSP-K-19978-SD-DST%20Rev%20D.pdf Best Regards, Rosanna

What parts are needed for a sinkage hole installation?

We installed this faucet with a base plate to cover pre-drilled holes. We are remodeling with granite countertops and want a single hole installation. We no longer have the box or other parts. What do we need to install this properly? Is an adapter needed?
Asked by: Kristin
the multi use wrench which is supplied with the faucet is the only tool you will need for installation. if you install the faucet before the sink is set in place you will have an easier time installing the faucet with or w/o the wrench.

I had a Leland faucet installed about 6 months ago and now the handle now has a rubbing noise and is sticky and stiff when you open it now. Any advice what to do to help this situation?

Asked by: eemcinnes
Hi eemcinnes, Thank you for contacting Delta Faucet Company! I am sorry this information was not readily available, and I am happy to help you! Our Delta Faucet Leland® Single Handle Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet In Chrome MODEL#: 978-DST with a sticky, stiff, and rubbing handle would be caused by the cartridge. Our recommendation would be to soak the cartridge in 50/50 white vinegar and water and flushing the faucet. I have included flushing instructions below: Start by flushing the supply lines: Turn the supply off to both the hot and cold-water lines. Once off, turn the handle on the faucet to the on position and leave it there to bleed the lines of any excess water. Next, disconnect the hot water supply line and place it inside a bucket. Once the line is securely positioned into the bucket, turn on the cold-water supply. Thank you for being a loyal Delta Faucet customer. We appreciate your business and look forward to continuing to serve you. Please contact us back with any further questions. Best Regards, Nicole

Hello - I need cartrage for my Delta kitchen faucet  DST 978 as it is leaking continuously. I wonder if you can help me get one Thanks

Asked by: Naguib
Hi Naguib, Thanks so much for contacting Delta Faucet Company! It is possible that a flush could resolve this issue. To flush the supply line, first shut off the hot and cold-water supply. Remove the hot supply line from the shut-off valve and place the line into a bucket. Open the handle to the fully open middle position, and then turn the cold supply back on for one minute. The cold water should flow through the faucet and out the hot supply tube. Reconnect the supply line and repeat with the second line. If this does not help, please let us know. Please reach out with further questions! Best Regards, Kelley Digital Communications Specialist
