I’ve had to replace the valve cartridge 6 times in 6 years, because it leaks. Delta gives us free replacement cartridges, which is helpful, but now the Allen nut that attaches the handle to the valve is jammed, so I can’t replace it anymore. It’s a plastic valve cartridge that wears out very quickly, and clearly a known issue for Delta, since they’ve sent me 5 replacement cartridges over the years.

Rated 4 out of 5 by ldocolumbus from Easy install, great magnetic docking. Have owned the Leland kitchen faucet for 3 years. It matches all the Leland faucets in my bathrooms. Could only cut off water from cold side. When cut off from middle or hot it would leak. Lived with it for 3 years and finally solved last week by replacing cartridge. Delta recommended flushing supply lines but my plumber felt cartridge would solve problem and it did. Sorry I waited so long to get it repaired. Delta has always provided great customer service and free replacement parts for all faucets and shower valves over the 16 years I have owned my home. I highly recommend Delta products.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Megofthemidwest from Nice looking faucet, but problems I have owned this faucet for about a year, and while it looks nice and seems to operate just fine, it is extremely difficult to get it in the off position where it will not drip. It has a tiny little spot where it doesn’t drip. We have weekend guests at our house and they commented how difficult it is to turn off the kitchen faucet without it dripping. I have thought for a long time about replacing it and their comment spurred me on to just ditch the thing. Life is too short to live with that faucet.

There is a piece of black plastic in the lever assembly with four tabs that hold the cylindrical trim on the lever snug to the counter, These tabs break easily. The plastic piece cannot be replaced without buying the entire expensive metal trim. Bad design. It costs upwards of $60 to replace the assembly just to fix a 10 cent piece of plastic. Delta does give the option of buying the cheap plastic insert.

We replaced the batteries, did a reset, now it barely comes on - there is no pressure, We checked all the things it could be to no avail so we had to put it back into manual mode. I read this on other reviews prior to purchasing but thought we’d get lucky. I should have known better.

It started to leak about 2 months ago and is getting progressively worse. For a kitchen faucet to be leaking in so short a time is totally unacceptable. P.S. I'm a retired retired mechanical engineer, so I know what I'm talking about.

The only issue we've had was about a yr. ago, water was dripping. We didn't know it had a cartridge. After speaking with St. Tammany Supply where we purchased, we were told it probably needed a replacement cartridge. The recommended a plumber and the same day, he came out and replaced for us. Probably could do it ourselves when needed. The first one lasted about 8+ yrs. - Found out on other bathroom faucets there's a key to remove strainer for cleaning. Today, checking with St.Tammany Supply, they had a key for the bathroom faucets. Wow worked like a jewel. No more toothbrushes to try to clean upside down. Hopefully, there's a key for this one, if not, will have to check assembly. Hats off to Delta. Ours looks as good as the day they were installed with the Nickle finish.

The "sleeve assembly" for the handle includes an incredibly cheap/weak plastic piece that breaks easily and results in non-ability to properly secure the assembly to the countertop. Check reviews for RP51481 and see for yourself. 2. Plan on going through multiple cartridges. Again, check on reviews of RP50587.

What is the difference between stainless steel finish, and artic finish. I am interested in the Leland faucet. Thank you

Hi Bosco, Thank you for your question. There is a slight difference in the finishes of Artic Stainless and Stainless Steel. Artic Stainless more closely resembles the stainless steel appliances that are available for the kitchens in todays markets. It has a bluish tint to it. Stainless Steel has a golder tone to it and more closely matches finishes in the bathroom. Thanks, Dave

What size holes should be cut in my countertop to accommodate the spout, handle and soap dipenser?

Soap dispenser leaks from the spout. How can I fix this?

I did not install this faucet, it was in place when I bought my apartment but looks fairly new and the faucet works like a charm! However the soap dispenser needs to be pumped 4-5 times for soap to come out (the bottle is full of soap) and then after dispensing, it slowly leaks onto the sink. How can this be fixed? Thank you!

Hi Marin, We are sorry that you are experiencing a problem with your soap dispenser. It sounds like the pump assembly is not working properly. Unfortunately the pump assembly is not available as a separate item. The entire RP50813 soap dispenser will need to be replaced. Thanks, Dave

I would like to take off the faucet head because it has begun to spray - I assume build up is inside the head. I see the little piece you can push in but it doesn't want to come apart from the hose easily. Is there a trick to take the head off?

The spec indicates a min clearance of 2.5 inches from center of hole for faucet to backsplash. I only have 2 inches.  Why is 2.5 inches needed since the handle goes forward and not back? Will 2 inches work?

Thank you for your question, Bridget! The minimum clearance to the back splash is typically suggested for lavatory models with lift rods or for models where the handle does reach backwards. This is still suggested for maximum comfort and ease of use with the handle; however this model can still work with only 2". Best regards, Edward

I see where you have answered the question about the difference between Model 9178 and 9678. What is the difference between those and Model 19978?

Hello Kathy 61, Thank you for your question. The Delta Leland Pull-Down 19978-SS-DST faucet is a Home Depot exclusive model and it is similar to the Leland 9178-AR-DST faucet. I have granite countertops with two existing holes. One hole is only 1.375" dia. Is this large enough for the handle?
