Rated 3 out of 5 by Terry from Faulty controller We had a plumber install this Leland faucet with an invoice date of 6/14/2010 from our contractor. We have hard water, but the faucet, spray and water flow have been great. However, the controller has had to be replaced by our plumber two times and now needs repaired again. He took the controller apart and it is broken inside above the sink, therefore you have to jiggle the controller to get it to shut the water off.

Great water pressure, and we really enjoy the spray options. We needed a replacement as the older faucet was starting to clog up. This Delta faucet has been the perfect fit for our needs and performs really well. Highly recommend.

It has popped off twice soaking my cabinet. Poor design. Tempted to put the original faucet back on. Directions are the worst.

We were very pleased until day 5 when we found water coming out from under the kitchen sink cabinet onto the floor. I looked under the sink & saw water spraying from the pull down hose connection to the water supply hose. Fortunately, it only leaked when the faucet was turned on. I called the plumber back & he found that the plastic connector on the hose was fractured. This was on Saturday. On Monday, I called Delta customer service & the representative readily agreed to send a replacement hose which I received a week later. Meanwhile we had to "go to the creek" so to speak, to handle our kitchen water needs for 10 days. Plumber replaced hose & now all is well. We like all the features & especially the "spot shield technology". Thanks for the prompt customer service.

What is the difference between stainless steel finish, and artic finish. I am interested in the Leland faucet. Thank you

Hi Bosco, Thank you for your question. There is a slight difference in the finishes of Artic Stainless and Stainless Steel. Artic Stainless more closely resembles the stainless steel appliances that are available for the kitchens in todays markets. It has a bluish tint to it. Stainless Steel has a golder tone to it and more closely matches finishes in the bathroom. Thanks, Dave

What size holes should be cut in my countertop to accommodate the spout, handle and soap dipenser?

Soap dispenser leaks from the spout. How can I fix this?

I did not install this faucet, it was in place when I bought my apartment but looks fairly new and the faucet works like a charm! However the soap dispenser needs to be pumped 4-5 times for soap to come out (the bottle is full of soap) and then after dispensing, it slowly leaks onto the sink. How can this be fixed? Thank you!

Hi Marin, We are sorry that you are experiencing a problem with your soap dispenser. It sounds like the pump assembly is not working properly. Unfortunately the pump assembly is not available as a separate item. The entire RP50813 soap dispenser will need to be replaced. Thanks, Dave

I would like to take off the faucet head because it has begun to spray - I assume build up is inside the head. I see the little piece you can push in but it doesn't want to come apart from the hose easily. Is there a trick to take the head off?

The spec indicates a min clearance of 2.5 inches from center of hole for faucet to backsplash. I only have 2 inches.  Why is 2.5 inches needed since the handle goes forward and not back? Will 2 inches work?

Thank you for your question, Bridget! The minimum clearance to the back splash is typically suggested for lavatory models with lift rods or for models where the handle does reach backwards. This is still suggested for maximum comfort and ease of use with the handle; however this model can still work with only 2". Best regards, Edward

I see where you have answered the question about the difference between Model 9178 and 9678. What is the difference between those and Model 19978?

Hello Kathy 61, Thank you for your question. The Delta Leland Pull-Down 19978-SS-DST faucet is a Home Depot exclusive model and it is similar to the Leland 9178-AR-DST faucet. I have granite countertops with two existing holes. One hole is only 1.375" dia. Is this large enough for the handle?
