Rated 4 out of 5 by from Replacement Replaced same model that was 16 years old. Noticed some changes. Water comes out noisier. Replaced braided stainless steel hose with a rubber one. I hope it holds up as well as the previous one. The brushed nickel finish looks almost like stainless steel.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to use and high quality. Plumber installing had to go get an extra part ($). The only thing we don't love is that the extended nozzle needs a real push to get back in the faucet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great features I love my new faucet. Hands down, it makes daily cooking easy and was easy to install. I really appreciate the customer service I received with this product. Thank you

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not Satisfied and it's a Waste of Money. The faucet had a modern design. Unfortunately, when I installed the faucet I was surprised the way the Standard Flow of water was very "LOW". I do not know what's wrong with my new faucet.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Ok for a while, but doesn't last Started out ok, but over time it didn't age well. The cartridge needs replaced repeatedly and only lasts maybe a year before it starts leaking again. The finish (as you can see in the photos) didn't last at all on the venetian bronze finish. The connection to the pull down sprayer is rusting.
Date published: 2026-01-08
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn’t last long Needed a new cartridge after a year. Delta said they would only supply 1 for the life of the faucet. A year later the new one is failing and the screw to remove the handle to replace the $50 cartridge has seized so the faucet need to be replaced. Garbage.

Q&A

What is distance required from center of fixture to backspash? I am looking at your Leland # 978-DST.

Asked by: Bill
Hi, Bill! Thank you for your question. The minimum clearance to back splash 2 1/2" (64 mm) for the Delta 978-AR-DST Faucet. Best Regards, Rosanna
Answered by: Delta Faucet
Date published: 2024-03-28

I purchased the 9178-AR-DST less than a year ago.  I am having trouble figuring out what position the handle needs to be in for cold water.  Please help.  Is there a manual I can look at?

Asked by: Barb
Thank you for your question, Barb! When the faucet is installed with the handle on the right, the full cold position is when the handle is tilted away from the faucet and toward you. Moving it away from you will increase the temperature and moving it toward the faucet will reduce the volume. Best regards, Jon

Is the faucet intentionally set to the return to the center automatically?

Asked by: daryl
Thank you for your question, Daryl. The spout is not designed to center automatically. Please check to make sure that the hose is not twisted or catching on anything below the sink and that the faucet is installed on a level surface. Best regards, Jon

Can the faucet handle be mounted on the left side rather than the right?  If not, is there a similar faucet with a left side handle?

Asked by: Diane
Hello Diane, Thank you for your inquiry! We recommend installing the Delta Linden Pull-Down Kitchen 9178-AR-DST faucet with the handle on the right. You may install it with the handle on the front or left side, but the temperature adjustment will be opposite of the standard operation for single handle faucets. You can compensate for this by swapping the hot and cold supply lines under the sink. However, the red/blue button will no longer indicate the correct temperature. Best regards, Tanya

Hi. A new water meter was just installed at my home and I've lost prssure in my kitchen faucet. The City said I need to remove the aerator and rinse it, but I can't see how to remove that. The pressure is low on all three of the settings. Can you help me?

Asked by: Maritxu
Hi, Maritxu! Thank you for your question. The Delta 9178-SP-DST faucet sprayer aerator assembly can be removed with an aerator wrench. The aerator wrench kit is part number RP50815. I have questions about the Delta Leland kitchen faucet. First, what is the difference between arctic stainless and spot shield stainless? Which one is more likely to match the color of a basic stainless sink?  Does the handle move forward and backward?

Asked by: mello
Hi, Mello! Thank you for your question. Arctic Stainless is a brushed finish like Stainless Steel. Over the years, the color of stainless steel used on appliances and sinks has migrated from warmer tones, with more red in the color spectrum, to lighter tones where blue is more predominant. Arctic Stainless features cooler metallic tones, following a trend seen throughout the kitchen. SpotShield Stainless is a spot-resistant, warm, low-gloss finish with warmer tones, similar to brushed nickel. The Delta 9178-SP-DST Faucet handle rotates forward for hot water. Best Regards, Rosanna

what does the professional version mean. Why does it cost more.? What is the difference? Try to make an educated purchase for a new kitchen faucets. Plumber will install. I must make the purchase.

faucet handle spins all the way around

I attempted to adjust this faucet handle as it was causing the faucet to leak somewhat. when i removed the set screw holding the faucet on and then retightened the scew the faucet handle now feels loose and spins 360 degrees. im looking to get this repaired but im not sure if i need a new handle or if it is the cartridge the handle goes onto that needs to be replaced.
Asked by: jasimek
Hi jasimek, Thank you for your question. It sounds like either the set screw is not tight enough, or the screw is not in contact with the stem portion of the dst cartridge. Make sure the cartridge is seated properly, and that the bonnet and sleeve assembly are tightened correctly. The handle set screw should attach to the cartridge stem on the flat portion of the stem preventing the handle from spinning. I have attached a link to the parts breakdown for the model 978-DST to help you with your repair. Thanks, Dave http://www.deltafaucet.com/customersupport/documentation/978-dst.html?document=pd&fromDetailArea=kitchen&documentIndex=0#flashWrapper

Does the faucet spray wand return to the dock when you let it go or do you need to push it back into the dock?

water pressure is from gravity of storage tank on the roof of houses. May question is: the aerator which is design to reduce pressure fow of water in USA will not restrict too much the flow coming from gavity? perhapps I drill the aerator to give more flow?

Hi Cesar, Thank you for your question. The model 9178-AR-DST requires a working pressure of 20 PSI. Each foot of elevation that your storage tank is about ground level will give approximately .433 PSI. For example 100' of elevation will result in 34.4 psi. Thanks, Dave

Stainless steel vs arctic finish

We have 2 year old whirlpool appliances and will be installing a countertop with Solera SR305 sink under counter mount stainless steel sink. Your opinion please on the arctic or stainless steel finish for delta leader faucet 19978 or 9178 This is a one shot deal so I need to get it right. Thanks
Asked by: Diane
Hi Diane, Thank you for your question. There is a slight difference between the Delta Faucet Stainless Steel finish and the Delta Faucet Artic Stainless finish. Stainless Steel has a gold tone to it and is mostly used in the bath. Artic Stainless has a blue tint to it and more closely matches stainless steel appliances out in the market today. It is only used in the kitchen. Thanks, Dave
